Men are much more affected by it

Woman usually consume less porn though even if they're as perverted. It really doesn't matter though, porn is poison for the brain no matter who consumes it.

whenever there's talk about a man staying at home with the kids and/or the woman being the lead of the relationship, a lot of men go "nah, i'm not gonna let a woman disrespect me like that and walk all over me, like i'm some slave". This shows that a lot of men do think that being submissive means being inferior. I don't think that's the usual reaction. I think most of them don't want to do it because it's more associated with women, so undesirable for a man. The same way most women don't want t…

I've yet to see one actually say that tbh. I think people misinterpret a lot of these statements like that men should be dominant for example. That doesn't make women inferior. They just fulfill different roles. The same way staying at home and raising the children doesn't make you inferior.

Who is saying feminity is inferior?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/05/24 05:52 PM

Older men usually have more of everything women desire in a man like confidence, experience, status, money etc. I think in general men need much more time to mature and make something of themselves.

Well..easier said than done Yes, exactly I’m being ignored at best This is what you consider the best possible result? that’s going to tend to piss me off. I would venture to say that’s a normal response. Yes failing sucks. But to get better at something you also have to fail at it.

I'm not sure if you understand me correctly. The point is to not be so emotionally affected by the result. The positive reinforcement lies in overcoming a challenge/fear. That will make you become better at talking to women or people in general because you become less scared of negative responses.

The problem is guys like you think men who “approach” somehow have more courage than men who don’t. Yes I do and I think that men who don't have that courage can build it with approaching for example. They have to get out of their comfort zone. It’s best to develop relationships with women who are part of your social circle, if you can Yes, I'm not saying otherwise. I was just responding to someone saying that approaching isn't worth it.

I'm not going to bother arguing with someone who gaslights himself. I'd rather chase the sun than bury myself underground lol. But you can feel free to do so. Then there is less competition for people like me.

The 100th loss will not “hurt less”, especially if your livelihood depends on it. Of course it will. At that point losing will have become the norm for you. I appreciate the speech Burgess Meredith but I am willing to bet I’m older than you are and have heard the whole positive and peppy spiel too many times than I care to remember. Save the sentiment for the young and impressionable, may work for some but won’t work for most It has nothing to do with positivity. It's just rationality. Obviously…

Nietzsche went insane and started talking to a horse in Turin, Schopenhauer was a very depressed and melancholic man. These were great minds but not everything they have said or done was gold. They are humans after all

No it’s more like the boxer entering his 100th fight and has gotten so sick and tired of losing The 100th loss would still hurt less than the 1st loss and you will be less scared to lose. At that point you will be used to enduring losses. Not everyone is cut out to do everything in life Again, this is a defeatist mindset. It does nothing to improve your situation. If you tell yourself this, it's going to happen. It doesn't mean that you have to be delusional, you just need to be rational and loo…

Nonsense comparison. Being rejected and getting over it will make it easier to get over the next rejection and improve the fear of approaching. Like a boxer who is entering his 1st fight versus his 100th fight.

it’s just not much return for your efforts The return you get either way is experience and confidence. Getting rejected builds a strong character women don’t enjoy being approached by strange men on the street they are not already attracted to off the bat True or not, this is a defeatist mindset. If you or others see yourself as a strange man, you should do something to change that.

Not sure, I think cold-approaching might have become harder as it is such a rarity nowadays so many introverted women are weirded out by it. However I think in general it's getting easier to stand out as a man and be "above average" in most aspects nowadays since modern man are less masculine and disciplined. At the same time there is probably more discipline required today because instant gratification is so readily available.

I think men will also eventually realize hedonism doesn't fulfill them or that lifestyle will just become unsustainable because the system fails. I'm a guy and I want 2 or more children. That said, I think the women's opinion on children is just more relevant for a cultural shift. I think a man would rather give on to a woman wanting children than vice versa because the woman has to go through more to raise a child.

I think men will accommodate to what women want in regards to dating and family life. The ones that don't likely won't get a woman.

Cultural shifts take time. I think many women will slowly realize that their new found freedom to work and consume for their whole life isn't very fulfilling. And the ones that don't will reproduce less so it's likely that there will eventually be a shift.

What traditional living actually looks like... traditional means you meet a woman's family (usually the father) before ever doing anything like dating or a relationship. Her family has to approve of you before you begin dating. In other traditional arrangements, both families consult each other for dating and courtship before you even meet. In the past, traditional commonly meant the woman (and the man) would be a virgin and was expected to remain a virgin until marriage. That part is rarer toda…

I hope this works out but it doesn't sound too promising. I think to solve low birth rates, there needs to be a huge cultural shift. Traditional communities/families have to return and there needs to be a shift away from hedonism towards religion or spiritualism. I don't think any government will accomplish this though. It will naturally happen once the current system fails.

The reasoning is that compared to younger men, older men usually have more of everything that women desire in men like status, confidence, money experience etc.

You wouldn't want to be friendless, family-less, partnerless and absolutely alone. Your mind wouldn't be healthy at all in that case. Of course it's great to have them but you shouldn't depend on them. In that case you will have plenty of difficulties in life because you let yourself be influenced by others too much. People come, people go. The only thing you have control over is yourself. That's why being comfortable with being alone is extremely valuable. It's weird to see such a platitude fro…

If you want a healthy mind you need your own family You need a healthy mind before you start a family. If you depend on other people to have a healthy mind, you won't be a good husband or father.

That's a very bitter outlook on life. Personally one of my motivations to have children is to pass the gift of life on.

I'm 22 and I want 2 or more kids. I think starting a family and having children is one of the most fulfilling things one can do. I would enjoy being a father and passing my life lessons on and I also want my parents to have grandchildren.

Think it should also be said I struggle with anxious attachment style which as much as I try to be normal, I feel like people can totally tell. It’s definitely me that’s the problem 😓 If I can give you one piece of advice, I don't think you're setting yourself up for success if you put a label like that on yourself. Everyone has their problems, but it's important we don't let them define us. They're just one obstacle we have to overcome. Just my two cents.

Depends on what's available where you live. Places like that are of course getting more and more rare. I recommend joining some community like a sports/recreational club, course, church etc.

You have to make it happen. I'm a man and I also want kids and a family. You might be looking in the wrong places. I think dating apps are unfortunately the worst place to look for a potential husband. Same for bars and clubs. You need to look somewhere where hookup culture hasn't taken over yet.

It's a pointless discussion. It's probably true but women would never admit it
/r/PurplePillDebate04/05/24 02:54 PM

It's so crazy how many progressives refuse to accept basic biological facts. Nature is the way it is, whether you like it or not and it's pointless to try to force your beliefs onto it.

"Back then" isn't a monolith. Liberalism in 1850 was very different from liberalism in 1950. Not sure if I understand you correctly, but since I quoted your sentence about the founding of the US, I thought it was clear I meant that time by "back then". However even the liberism in 1950 was vastly different from what it is now. That's why I'd be inclined to consider the current trend separate from the trend towards liberalism that was going on before. I agree there's no guarantee that there will …

Although it is true that the impact of parents/family on their children has probably never been as small in history as it is now, they're still the people who raise the kids and who kids spend the most time with. They're the most important part of a child's upbringing so they are still going to have the most influence. I could also see a trend back to more traditional family structures as people become fed up with modernity and the more traditional people reproduce more.

Fyi I deleted the comment you replied to because I confused your earlier comment with someone else But to answer: I think people could very likely return to more traditional views as more people become fed up with modernity and since people with more traditional views have higher birth rates. The trend toward liberalism has been going on since almost the founding of the US I think the liberalism back then and the liberalism we have now are two different worlds. It's almost incomparable. Even if …

That doesn't matter. I think in general humans are just more likely to keep doing what they're familiar with than to divert from it.

I think society is more advanced thinking than it was in the past and that this has generally been a trend throughout history. Do you equate advanced with liberal or what's your point here? I certainly don’t see women’s rights being rolled back on a widespread scale. Me neither. Not in the foreseeable future at least.

Interesting, your conclusion seems a bit subjective though. But I also think that girls are more susceptible to social pressure since it's their "weapon" of choice as opposed to physical strength with boys.

Those are some mental gymnastics if you ask me. I wouldn't consider today's conservatism as liberal just because it is more liberal than the conservatism 100 years ago. Besides, we don't know what the future holds. To think trends like this can only go in one way is very short-sighted in a historic context.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 05:49 PM

No but I'd say the likelihood of becoming/staying conservative is higher

Conservatism always eventually loses to liberalism. I don't think so. Conservatives have a higher birth rate. Young people who are discontent with modernity also usually become conservative.

What do you think will come out of these in 1-2 years time 1-2 years is a short timeframe. It will be exactly the same then. However I think in a longer timeframe, maybe in this century people will slowly return to more traditional views on gender etc. Simply because those with more traditional views reproduce more and currently a lot of young men (and women, I hope) are realising that we can't go on like we are doing atm.

Could =/= will. To think that any or most men would rape/murder women if given the chance, is an absurd view on humanity
/r/PurplePillDebate02/05/24 04:19 PM

I really don't care. I answered your question but I'm not willing to join this victim contest about who has it harder.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 11:32 PM

What does having men attracted to me do for me? Knowing that you are desirable and having an easier time finding a partner. It might be difficult to understand if you haven't experienced the opposite. A lot of men have noone attracted to them which makes them feel worthless
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 11:21 PM

Sure, but it is what it is. As men we have to get used to it because it won't change.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 10:43 PM

I think for them it doesn't really feel like an advantage because it also comes with some downsides and not all women have 10/10 looks and tons of guys chasing after them. Or the guys that do chase after them aren't very desirable. That said, I think this whole discussion about who has it easier or harder is pointless and childish. It would make sense if we were to draw some actionable conclusion from this but it really just boils down to a pity party.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 10:11 PM

Men don't chase women because they one day woke up and consciously chose to do so. They are genetically wired to do so.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/04/24 10:05 PM

OkCupid data Isn't OkCupid a dating app? Of course they're gonna care more about looks there because the app forces you to select based on looks.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/04/24 02:49 PM

Women also have very different tastes but I think in general women just care much less about looks than men I know plenty of guys who are worse looking than me but have much more success with women simply because they are confident and fun to be around. I think this focus on looks is a bit of a coping mechanism for some guys. They either use it as an excuse for why they can't get women or they work on it because it's much easier to improve your looks than actually becoming confident and charisma…
