Gynocentrism all the wayActually, what I am saying is once you negotiate and agree to a contract your are bound by the terms. Once the terms are over, you are free to negotiate a new deal. We should not equate this to exploitation. Making $100k vs $110k is hardly exploitation. My second point was not that it should be forgotten, but rather that giving the women a $10k raise would theoretically line them up to the men's salary, but would not stop the complaints. The fact of the matter is, the salary paid to both the men… | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 08:21 PM
Gynocentrism all the wayBased on FIFA's numbers, the 2014 Mens world cup had 3.2 Billion views globally. The 2015 Womens world cup had 750 Million. That being said, the viewership is not the only factor. The broadcasting rights for men's sports cost significantly more than for women. The revenue generated from the 2018 FIFA world cup was over $5 billion. The 2019 Women's world cup generated less than $150 million. The percentage of prize money compared to revenue is actually higher for women than it is to men. To… | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 08:12 PM
Gynocentrism all the wayThere is a difference though. These contracts were negotiated by different representatives. Additionally, when these contracts were signed the income the women were generating was not higher. As for the complaint that the women are now generating more and rewarded less; this is similar to rookie NBA players who often make significantly less money than they are worth. When their contract ends, they are able to negotiate much higher salaries. I am not disagreeing with you that 20-30k is significan… | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 12:27 PM
Gynocentrism all the wayI am aware of what the lawsuit is about. The problem is, the numbers used in all major arguments are the FIFA prize money 400 vs 30 million. The 11% you mentioned which equates to something like 20-30 thousand per year is not as politically shocking. As you stated, the difference in earnings outside of the world cup is not as significant. These agreements were done by different bargaining teams. The women's earnings are static while the men's vary on results. Seeing as the women's success is rat… | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 03:14 AM
Gynocentrism all the wayMore viewers in the United States. The US viewership does not dictate the FIFA prize money. You are missing the point. | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 03:09 AM
Gynocentrism all the wayThe prize money for the world cup is distributed by FIFA, and the revenue they generate is global. Men's soccer generates significantly more revenue globally. Outside the world cup, the two US teams are paid very similarly. The women's team has a salary, while the men's team is based on performance. The overall difference is not as significant as you think. | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 02:31 AM
Gynocentrism all the way000 Obviously the US Mens team is not going to perform as well as the US Womens team on the world stage. Male soccer has tremendous investment globally. Teams in Europe and South America have some of the best players in the world. Being the best in a sport that noone watches does not justify earning the same as a team in a sport that is popular. If your viewpoint was correct, the best athlete in every sport would be paid the same amount (Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Darts, Laser Tag, Yoyo). Thi… | /r/MGTOW | 16/07/19 02:29 AM
