Might be true for other people, but for me, absolutely not. I would only feel this way if a partner died while I was still in love with them. Otherwise if I had a time machine I wouldn't bother, even if it meant dying a virgin who never experienced love or whatever. Just having had these experiences is not something that ever mattered to me in isolation. I'm also not someone who is able to look back on good times with someone if my relationship or opinion of them overall has soured.

I like skinny, low body fat, but not very muscular. Fitness is appreciated, but most of the muscle visibility would be from low bodyfat. As soon as muscles become ultra defined, rounded, bulging in any way it looks unaesthetic to me. I particularly hate big traps, square booba pecs, or thick arms. I like people who are long-limbed, graceful looking, and don't have fleshy or big features. Fat is a complete turnoff for me. Even the upper end of the healthy range is usually not great to look at out…

It depends on how many women he's approached in the first place. If he's very selective and 9 out of 10 women he's been interested in said no, I wouldn't care. I also don't consider it a true approach/rejection if we're talking mindless swipe apps when no true communication has occurred, and most people don't even fill out their profiles. The kind of men I like aren't really conventional, so it would make sense for them not to appeal to a wide range of women, but they wouldn't appeal to him eith…

I put on lip color sometimes and that's generally it. I don't have an issue with men who wear light makeup to cover blemishes, and I enjoy artistic eye makeup, but I've never come cross a man who only wore lip color. Everyday full face makeup is probably out. No matter how natural anyone's makeup looks, up close it's always detectable to me. Texture isn't something you can truly hide when you don't have control of lighting, and a lot of "subtle" natural looks on camera look like shit in real lif…

My bare minimum standard would be not overweight, and no glaringly bad proportions. I'm very averse to fat or any kind of bigness in a guy's frame regardless of whether that's from fat, muscle, or both. I don't like stocky body types. Thick arms, big pecs, and big traps, are all a turnoff. My ideal aesthetic would be someone very skinny without big muscles, straight but not ultra-wide shoulders, narrow waist, legs and arms on the long side, not flat ass, and minimal body hair. I don't have a har…

I don't have any moral disagreement with sex work and think it should be legalized. I don't particularly care how the women feel about the job as long as it's their free choice as adults to do it. If no one is actually being trafficked or coerced, it's none of my concern. I just want a guy who views sex the same way as me. I don't even want someone who would be comfortable having casual sex even if thrown at him freely, let alone someone who would go out of their way to pay for sex with a strang…

Three. Four might great or terrible, depending on what low value means. The rest are awful. I'd have nothing to do with someone who I'd consider low value in terms of personality, compatibility, how he behaves towards me, etc. but if the guy fulfils my own requirements, but is seen as "low value" by society with regard to income, career, conventional looks, status, nonconformity, etc., I wouldn't care. But in that case, it wouldn't really be Pickme behavior, just having different priorities, but…

Someone using a hairpiece wouldn't bother me in general, but I'd never realistically sleep with someone after only going on a few dates, more like several months after the relationship is established and feelings are involved. If after that long he's still not comfortable telling me, it would probably be a red flag. I wouldn't mind if someone didn't tell me until they knew me better, but if he's still sneaking around trying to fix it without me noticing at that point in the relationship, I proba…

I'd tell him a practice date with me would not be any good for helping him with the average woman because I am a weirdo. My tastes aren't usual and I actively like a lot of things that put normies off, and dislike things others see as positives. Also, even if I thought I could help, I'd never respond to a random message from a stranger like this. I'm on OLD to find a partner, and I don't reply to anything else. I'd only do it for someone I knew already.

That's pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. In terms of personality and intelligence, I would prefer someone as similar to me as possible. I'm unwilling to consider anyone with too much divergence in terms of values, philosophical, and sociopolitical outlooks. I know a relationship of extreme similarity is the only relationship that would actually work long-term, given that I'm uncompromising, don't really get lonely, and while I find being disagreeable and debates entertaining in general, …

Realistically, this is rarely an issue for me because men with personalities I like are rarely promiscuous. I try to get much information as I can about new people before directly asking them because I don't trust anyone, not just with this topic, or subtly get information without directly asking without outright revealing how judgmental I am about it. I always discuss history and freely volunteer mine. Just hearing an exact number isn't useful information. He doesn't have to be a n=300 manslut …

I was a virgin until my mid-twenties because I didn't care about sex outside of a serious relationship with someone I was in love with, and was a combination of extremely introverted, selective, and not really trying that hard to find anyone. I also have a lot of factors that rule out large numbers of people as options, like not wanting kids and knowing this from a young age, atheism, not being into partying/drinking/drugs, etc. etc. OLD would have made it trivially easy to lose it any time I wa…

All I care about is that if he has unlikable or toxic family members, he doesn't feel an obligation to keep them in his life just because they're family. A non-relationship is fine. I really don't care about the particulars of his upbringing and will judge his personality and any perceived damage on an individual basis, but I'm not interested in anyone who feels some kind of moral obligation to put up with things you normally wouldn't from someone, just because they're blood related. My one ex was just under 6ft. I don't care how tall a new partner is. Someone's body shape and proportions are far more important to me than height. I don't know how I'd feel about a guy significantly shorter than me, but I'm under 5'6" so it's not too likely I'll meet someone who someone who happens to fit all my other standards and also is an extreme outlier in terms of male height.

The drinking and partying would preclude me from dating someone anyway. Business trip okay if she's part of the business and there's a good reason for this happening with just the two of them and overnight. No to the rest. But I wouldn't like him having a male friend like this, either. It's very important. I'm not dating a socialist or communist, perpetually offended woke types, social conservatives, or authoritarians. Not interested in casual, but I wouldn't have sex with a partner if there were no option for an abortion, unless they'd been sterilized or it were feasible for me to easily travel elsewhere to get one. If you mean a worldwide ban somehow happened, I'd just stop having PIV sex because it's not that important to me and definitely not worth the risk of being forced to go through with a pregnancy. Just because people don't talk about it openly, or bluntly ask about it immediately, doesn't mean they don't care. I care, and I care if he cares. If he doesn't, it's a major red flag. It can be down to insecurity, some of the guys here have straight up admitted it is, but not necessarily. People can have values or want people who feel the same way they do about sex and intimacy outside of religious beliefs. No. I'm naturally oriented towards monogamy and was never interested in casual. I'm only ever attracted to one person at a time and I hate everything about the process of finding a partner. The only version of it that doesn't sound terrible is a completely closed poly triad where we're all in love, but I have a hard enough time finding one person I like, so the likelihood of this is pretty much zero.

He'll be better off ignoring age and focusing on whoever is most compatible with him. There's always too much emphasis in these age gap discussions on a bunch of age-group related stereotyping about having "nothing in common" because of situational things and ticking up experience points like a video game, and not on actual core personality differences, shared outlooks, and interests, that don't necessarily have anything to do with what age you are. I'd feel repulsed at the idea of having sex with a stranger, but not insulted. At least they're being upfront and not trying to bs about wanting to date me first. If someone just randomly asked me like that out of the blue, with that wording, I'd probably laugh and move on. If it were someone who already knew me somewhat well, and should know I'd never be interested in that I'd be annoyed, though.

Indefinitely. If his sex drive lowered from what it was with age or illness, but it wasn't down to a change in feelings towards me, I wouldn't worry about it. I am very high libido but I don't need another person for sexual satisfaction. If he's giving me physical affection and love, I don't need more than that. I have no objections to it from a personal freedom or moral standpoint, but anyone compatible with me would never be interested in paying for sex for a bunch of intersecting personality/values/views on sex reasons. It's an extremely unlikely scenario, but I wouldn't date a male prostitute or porn actor, either. I don't go out of my way to shame people just for doing things I personally wouldn't be interested in, as long as everyone involved is consenting.

Generally the lower the better. I doubt I'd consider someone with a number above 10, regardless of age, but it's more about personality and how they view sex than an exact number. A high number of past partners just doesn't make sense given the other traits I like in a person. Communication or asking about specific acts you've never done before is fine and something I'd expect, but asking for explicit permission before every little touch or kiss, especially in an established relationship, seems absurd. I don't care. I prefer people are free to do these things and is completely destigmatized. It means they're more likely to admit it and makes it easier to avoid them, and the sex workers will have better protection. Anyone who is interested in patronizing sex works is automatically low-value to me regardless of his other traits, and I don't care about a guy's income, so really not worried about how many rich guys are buying 18 year olds.

No. Not a fan of muscle in general, but big traps look particularly awful. If a guy already has sloped shoulders they can end up making them look even worse, and gives a permanently hunched look. If it was someone close to me, and I had reason to believe some kind of abuse was occurring, I'd talk to them about it, but otherwise it's none of my business. With extreme age gaps, coupled with a lack of any reason people seem compatible, I'd probably assume it wasn't an authentic relationship. I never denied people get lonely, my issue was people acting like this was inevitable because of distance or seemingly using it as an excuse. I know exactly what a long-distance relationship is like, having been in one for years, and never accidentally tripped and fell into emotional cheating like this girl is implying happened. Personally, I didn't find the distance aspect that hard, but if you do, either communicate, or break up.

Rounding up a part inch isn't a big deal, but anything noticeably off what they'd stated in their profile, and I'd turn around and leave regardless of whether their height bothered me. Same as the people who enter the wrong age then admit the "mistake" in the bio or think you'll later let them off the hook for it because they look younger. I care very little about age or height, but if they lied, they're out.

Doomed relationship. He's downplaying it as just a kiss but clearly doesn't trust her anymore (rightly). Should have refused the gift and is probably lying about the extent of the cheating and/or her awareness of the feelings she was developing. "Didn't realize" what was happening, my ass. I don't buy all the stuff about this being inevitable because long distance or letting anyone off the hook even the slightest degree because of that.

Yes. I don't care about someone's finances unless they're indicative of other personality issues, like if he's living outside his means then whining about not being able to afford basic needs, or has racked up tons of debt, or is a lifestyle welfare leech. Other than that, I don't want kids and I don't care about getting married, so his finances are not really relevant to me in a practical sense. I can see how a huge wealth disparity could cause problems in some scenarios but my required lifesty…

I don't really get anything out of sex pleasure-wise that I can't do alone. Sex with someone is an extension of emotional intimacy and closeness I already feel with them, and "amazing" sex is inextricable from romantic feelings for the person and comfort with them, not objective skills at doing stuff to my body. My orgasms are like 70% mental. If sex is extraordinarily physically pleasurable with my partner, that would be a bonus, but not something necessary. Like if my partner happened to be an…

No profile. Entire profile is a copypasta joke I've seen 1000 times before. Not looking for serious, being non-monogamous, or not sure what they want. Mentioning a recent breakup. An air of desperation or "I can't afford to have standards" attitude. Bland interchangeable profile that seems constructed for mass-appeal and what they think the average woman wants to hear. Allegedly "looking for something serious/real", but has nothing to say about what that entails. Listing their height followed by…

A face I find aesthetically pleasing with no jarringly off-putting features is the most important in terms of the way someone looks. Generally I prefer a more "pretty boy" face, finer/softer features, bigger eyes, and actively dislike a lot of the hypermasculine "Chad" features or the standard-issue square-faced, short-haired, bland Hollywood protagonist look. Someone meh looking can grow on me; it's more about not having any of the features I specifically dislike. My evaluation is about meeting…

I'm all for legalizing prostitution for personal freedom reasons and I don't have any moral objections to anyone paying for a (fully consenting, not trafficked) sex worker. I'd still never date someone who has paid a sex worker or had a sugar baby, because that shows we have incompatible feelings and priorities about sex and relationships, not because he gave other women money. I disagree with the characterization of what young/old women are like but agree this is a dumb statement. No one is trying to date women their age and upon failure, sadly resigning themselves to dating people ten years their junior instead. It's far more difficult for a man to get a woman significantly younger than him, who is earnestly interested in him (not status/money) unless he's exceptional in some way.

Less men care about anything other than appearance which is accounted for in their higher drive to get laid, and accounts for the differences in these surveys. The values and beliefs of their hookups or people they're only short-term tolerating for sex don't matter. Honesty. It especially pisses me off when truth is omitted from me because they're too cowardly to say it or start a potential confrontation, than self-serving bs about sparing my feelings. People skipping around the point trying to be diplomatic all the time drives me nuts in general, but I realize this isn't what most people are like, so I go along with it generally unless I know there aren't any negative consequences for not doing so. With people I don't give a shit about, my goal is for the …

You don't need to specifically have been in a romantic relationship to know things about yourself, or traits you like or dislike in others, or to have specific experiences to grow as a person. Some people seem to learn better about themselves and others through experiencing things directly, but not everyone is like that, and portraying it as some kind of necessary rite of passage to have shitty relationships in order to have a successful one is a bit absurd given the minority of people who stay …

Yes. If I don't believe kindness is warranted, the person is being too soft on the specific situation or person, or the kind person is being particularly naïve. Kindness can absolutely cost you something. Of course, it's always extra annoying if it's performative or fake and seems more of an arbitrary "this is how a 'good' person should behave" rule they've decided to follow, rather than a natural tendency.

I don't believe there's an age limit that's automatically bad. Once you get past 60 or so, I'd doubt if it was a genuine relationship, but still not necessarily "creepy", and if it was just about sex/transactional etc. I personally wouldn't have an issue with it as long as there's no coercion or deception going on. Creepy is a situation, not an arbitrary number of years between two adults.

You forgot FlUenT in SarCaSm. The male profiles are the same way. 99% of people on OLD write the same vapid shit over and over again, or don't bother to write anything at all.

Lost virginity later, and only been in one relationship, so my birth control most of my life has been celibacy. I tried birth control pills to manage bad periods when I was younger, and just got horrible bloating/pregnancy symptoms and migraines that were worse than the period pain. When I got into a relationship many years later, I got a non-hormonal IUD, which was a horrible experience and my uterus ejected it after a few days. Tried different pills, more side-effects, my skin and my mood were…

I operate on kind of a reverse social proof, in that the isolated weirdo guy is probably more my type and if they seem too sociable or extroverted, it puts me off. Some aspects of "bad" social skills or being "creepy" according to n0rmies would probably be more attractive to me, but it's not even a confidence/shyness thing, but a legitimate lack of interest in interacting with these people thing. If he's the kind of guy to be bothered about making protracted small talk with people, or wanting to…

I'm far more leery of toxic positivity than the opposite, and I'd probably have a hard time relating to anyone completely neurotypical, has always felt at home in the world, and has always mostly been content with life. If he can't appreciate a Schopenhauer meme what's the point? Even when it comes to your example, I find the idea that it can be a separate, managed entity, and not something to ever bother me with, kinda unrealistic for most depressed or anxious people I've ever met. It's not eve…

I don't care about waiting for sex, but I also wouldn't be compatible with someone who thought marriage was necessary or meaningful, so no.

(1 + 4 kinda answered first, sorry, I just started rambling) Past mistake aside, the tl;dr of this comment is that I don't believe I'd have long-term compatibility with anyone other than someone very similar to me, personality-wise, and I can't fathom how anyone truly similar to me would end up with a high N count. I accepted 7 in the past, even though that number seemed huge to me, only because he was willing to disclose everything in detail from the beginning. A lot of behaviors the took place…

I wouldn't say "turn-on" but it would make me more interested in him, but only if he were legitimately not that thirsty and didn't see sex as a priority, or was just asexual. If he was just a regular guy with high self-control, or if this was part of some kind of hard-to-get game, it would be a turn-off. I don't not sleep around more because of my self-control, I'm just not interested in it until I have an emotional connection with someone, and even then it's not a priority or need. I would pref…
