Of course they’re not the same, I agree. But, they’re somewhat analogous. No ‘man struggle’ will be the same as any ‘woman struggle’, so all we can do is analogize. I understand what you’re saying with the whole “more options = advantage”. I already explained why I don’t think the extra options that women have are viable if they’re looking for something longterm - so I won’t restate. I think it’s possible that the female ability to have casual sex on demand could, in certain instances, be advant…

You’re using the word “options”, I think, to describe dating options broadly - but you’re ignoring the fact that men who just want casual sex are not “dating options” for women. They are men who want to have casual sex. To a woman who wants longterm commitment, those men aren’t options, just like gay men aren’t options for a straight man looking for anything romantic or sexual. This becomes more complicated when you accept the fact that there are far more men who are interested in casual sex tha…

That’s great! This sounds stupid and corny and probably meaningless, but sex is so unbelievably mental. As soon as you’ve had enough of it to reach the “experienced” zone, you realize that people who are “experienced” don’t actually “know” anymore than anyone else, really. You just gain confidence through trial and error, and through realizing that fucking stuff up is common and not a big deal. A virgin with confidence is better than an experienced person with unwavering performance anxiety. Bef…

I wouldn’t mind at all, unless he was unable to take any kind of initiative - meaning that I wouldn’t want to have to do all the leading for months and months without any effort on his end. When I met my current boyfriend, I was seventeen and he was 20- which meant he was more experienced, but I did as much as I could to learn and be proactive. It would be totally fine if he were willing to give things a shot and risk failure, rather than being sexually shut off to the point of a one-sided encou…

Oh - well, if you’re talking about boob to waist ratio rather than just boob size in general, I’d probably say height. Men ogle over boobs the way women ogle over tallness, and as much as you could say any woman could just “get a boob job”, it’s really not that simple if we’re talking about that perfect ratio and size. I think height probably translates the most. Some women are blessed with small waists and big boobs, or at least the frame that could support a 1:2 waist boob ratio after surgery …

Bulky muscles, masculine facial features, full head of hair, etc. Any physical thing that one can only change through surgery or immense effort. I think you could say height - though some might argue height is unchangeable - but if we’re being realistic, he mentioned “2 to 1 boobs to waist ratio”, which is different from just big boobs, and possibly unattainable for some women, so height could correlate there. If the man’s standards involve things that a woman can’t change with surgery, it’s fai…

Given that a specific bust-to-waist ratio is a shallow standard, I think you’d have to be able to appeal to the shallow standards that some women uphold: Wealth, “alpha” stuff, unchangeable physical attributes like height and shoulder-to-hip ratio, etc. If you’re gonna be shallow, you gotta be ok with shallow. I think that’s fair

Straight people going to gay bars for the “benefits” is annoying to me. I’m straight, but like - can we let them have one thing? Isn’t it being a gay bar where gay people go to meet gay people, the whole point?

I wholeheartedly disagree - but I understand where you’re coming from. Celebrity status plays a big role, but I think you’re taking it way, way too far. To be clear, in my last comment, when I talked about him approaching women in a bar I meant him as a non-celebrity. I would say that bandwagoning mostly influences the women on the fringes of attraction to men like Adam Driver, meaning women with typically conventional taste, who can nonetheless appreciate the “high-end” of unconventional men. T…

Depending on your definition of “good and defined”, I think you could name a few more. I’d also disagree that Adam Driver is an example of bandwagoning, or that he only appeals to nerdy girls - he’s pretty accepted in the mainstream of young women. The only friends I can think of of mine who would call him unattractive are those who have harshly conventional tastes, and I’d say they’re apart of a minority, albeit maybe a large minority. And I’m sure some of them would even admit it. However, I’m…

/r/PurplePillDebate23/01/22 02:04 AM

The first point sounds to me like you were just inconvenienced by women no longer providing free labour haha. I mean I get it, you were looking for validation, nothing wrong with that. But you’re not really entitled to it, so I’m not sure I understand how you consider it logical to be genuinely upset by people deciding that if someone wants that service from them, they can pay 5 bucks for it or whatever. Maybe you just listed it because it pissed you off - which I understand - it sucks when some…

I think the biggest things are: The amount of time you spend with any given person. Many couples live together for decades, which is a much more involved position in a persons life than just seeing them, even on a regular basis. I have many good friends who I couldn’t live with for more than a few weeks. Finding someone with whom you can iron out every problem, both small and large, daily and exceptional, is pretty big, and not usually necessary with friends. If i’m having a bad day, or my frien…

Location doesn’t really matter, I would say the main thing is I wish guys would drop the game. It’s so transparent, and absolutely oozes confidence issues. If you want to talk to a girl, get her number, ask her out blah blah blah, just speak to her like a human being. It’s so refreshing and straightforward, and doesn’t scream “I NEED TO ACT LIKE IM AN ALPHA BECAUSE IF SHE REALIZES I FEEL LIKE A BETA I WILL LOSE THIS POTENTIAL MATING OPPORTUNITY”. Like jesus buddy. No more negging, or attempts at…

Didn’t ignore it, read all of it and chose what I thought was notable enough to directly respond to. And yes of course it’s the couple’s job. My question is - do you really think it is impossible for a couple to run into a sexual imbalance that is irreconcilable? Not uncommon, but impossible? I think that’s a naive thing to suggest. What if one partner is entirely asexual and repulsed by sex? Would you suggest that it would be shallow or reprehensible for the other person to lovingly say “look, …

Invent some double submission thing. Holy hell this was so easy. Alright buddy hahahah. You didn’t actually say anything - if you can come up with an example of that, be my guest. I’m sure it’s possible, and not every sexual incompatibility is fatal to a relationship. But some are. That’s pretty much all i’m saying bud.

But why is sex held up to such a high importance when it lasts like 10 minutes a day for the most kinky among us? Anything that one does even close to every day with their partner is of upmost importance. Whether it be shopping for groceries, chores, taking care of kids, relaxing times - that stuff makes or breaks a relationship, and if any one of those categories is lacking in a fundamental way, the bond will suffer greatly. I’m not even sure how to justify the importance of sex… It seems almos…

Some things are pretty integral to one’s sexuality. If both partners are staunchly submissive, for example, that will be difficult to work around. You can try, and I’m sure some figure it out - but not all. And throwing in the towel at that point isn’t shallow, it’s realistic. Sexual satisfaction is important within relationships, and a lack thereof can create serious resentment.

It is the realization that a woman’s choices are completely independent of men’s efforts. This is exactly the problem I was outlining. I’m not sure which side you lean towards (for or against RP), but as a woman who is not entirely bluepilled and does like to think realistically about things in general, I will tell you, from a perspective informed by my own interests as well as what I’ve heard within women’s circles - this^ is very far from the truth. Of course, it’s not just efforts (the right …

It’s like hate watching - essentially just means watching or reading something because you take pleasure and/or entertainment in how awful it is. Kind of like not being able to look away from a car-wreck, or people’s obsessions with true crime.

Obviously there is the caricature of a red pill man, like you said - a guy who is so ungrateful for the probably many obscene advantages he’s been given in life that he has to reduce his one and perhaps only shortcoming to some kind of human behavioural conspiracy that has been waged against him. There are many exaggerated ways you could illustrate that guy, and I’m sure the guys who would fit into those illustrations are relatively few and far between. But the more “everyman” kind of RP guy is …

Defect lol. I mean I guess send it my way. It’s not so much that I don’t believe that research is out there - more so that you jumped back and forth quite comfortably in the op between “most women” and “women”. That’s a very important distinction to make, and it matters as far as your credibility goes. If someone were to come on here and say “MOST women prefer blah blah blah - here are the studies to back up this generalization”, that would be one thing. Even if it were clear that they were tryi…

Lol. I mean I’m open to that criticism I suppose, but I really don’t think so? I’ve never even dated one. Never watched guy on guy porn, never been turned on by the idea of two guys boning - it’s really just the inherent sexiness that comes with bypassing the shitty barriers people put up around you. It’s not about bi men specifically at all - I feel the same way about straight guys who embrace their submissive side. I think men owning their sexuality in any way that defies a norm is sexy, and i…

I think it’s a masculinity thing honestly - some women see a man enjoying anything another other than straight sex as being “feminine” or weak/submissive, and could never be attracted to a guy who was open to things like taking it up the ass or fucking a guy lol. It could also be an insecurity thing, meaning that if your boyfriend is able to be attracted to men and masculinity, then he doesn’t have any standards of femininity that you are by definition living up to by dating him. For me, I think…

I have a question for you, kinda off topic but I’m curious - I imagine that with the conventionally attractive gf, you told her she was beautiful and all that. Did you say the same stuff to your average gf? As in, did you ever give her any indication that she was average looking, or did you act the whole time like she was stunning?

... ok haha well to try and answer your question, i’m 19 and have a 22 year old boyfriend so he’s a good amount farther ahead in his career than me right now. but i’m definitely not shooting for a shittier job than his, ideally i’d like our finances to be pretty equal cause i don’t see a good reason why they shouldn’t be and i want to be stable. ? not really a competition lol just don’t want him to have the pressure of “providing” solely on his shoulders.

My problem isn’t necessarily with the term the way I would describe it is because of my experiences with feminism and the actions of feminism I look at someone willingly wearing the label as no different from someone wearing a symbol of hate such as a swastika or the confederate flag. This is exactly what I was saying. While I understand why you jump to this conclusion, it’s an emotional response, not a logical one. Not every feminist hates men, and not every anti-feminist hates women. Disregard…

Ok so the gist of your problem with feminism (from what I understand) seems to be with the term itself. I have spoken with many people who feel the same, and I think this is actually a very important discussion to be had. I’m very glad we’re having it. First off, I’m not sure exactly what experiences you’ve had with men’s domestic abuse shelters, but they sound absolutely abhorrent, and I am truly sorry for that. There is, obviously some very real contempt, bitterness, and hatred that exists on …

Right. This might get long, hope you’re up for it cause this seems like it has the potential to be a real discussion. Ok to your first point, I’m not really sure how relevant your theological analysis of feminism is to this discussion, but if you think it makes sense to view talking about the pay gap as “prayer”, that’s fine. Not sure how much that really changes, if anything at all - except I assume you’re suggesting that it has gone past ideology and now borders on blind faith, which I think c…

Little confused ‘Religious beliefs’.... hoping that is just super dramatic sarcastic hyperbole? Or is that serious? ”When feminists can influence that presidents decision such as Obama and the shovel ready jobs fiasco” Run that by me one more time ‘Influence the FBI so that men can’t be raped’? Lol I’m sorry about the long responses but this is a pretty complex conversation. I’ll try to keep this as succinct as possible, I just do have a lot to say on this topic. I think the point of mine that you’re missing lies in the reality of his suggestion that our society is gynocentric. When you pick that apart, what he’s claiming is that any female expression of dissatisfaction with the system we exist under is not only false and mere whining, but also the opposite of the truth - HIS truth bei…

Haha, his views are, however, explicitly offensive. And honestly, I’m not sure that what I said even constitutes as “shaming”. My initial comment was just a flipped version of what he said, and he responded by essentially suggesting that internet neckbeards pale in comparison to the feminist overlords that obviously run the planet. So clearly, he doesn’t think internet neckbeards are even that bad, certainly not as bad as people like me, which is totally his right to opinion. By his logic, being…

Yes I understand all that. I’ve said that I agree with idea of taking the high road in most cases, and trust me, I usually do just that. I get that “the point” of having these “debates” is to convince people to step away from the meninist framework and consider that perhaps they do benefit from some very important elements of our societal system. Again, in the past, I have taken solely that approach to these internet conversations. I’ve been called a feminazi for suggesting that women might have…
