Wow, using NLP to preserve a state sounds extremely useful. Once in a while I'm in the "I can do anything" mindset, but usually it gets wasted or doesn't last long enough to effect change. I used to regard NLP as just bs though and don't know much about it, are there any resources you would recommend?

How do you, uh, motivate yourself to do shit? I feel like I have approach anxiety with my life and myself in general, not just women. I'm a recent college graduate with not much experience.

Good shit... the 20 min talk is pretty much what RSD's 20hr lecture talks about.

Wind up In most cases we'll come up with a bunch of reasons to feel numb Numb! That is exactly the feeling I would describe it as when I'm doing some dull, unproductive approaches. I'm not very good at psyching myself up though (or "winding up"), does anyone have any advice on how to do that? If you have any funny rituals you do to pump yourself up, please do share.

Thanks. This might just be what I wanted to hear.

Could you share any tips on how you became funnier? I'm getting my confidence down (I can hardly be rattled now), but I don't seem to be able to get good responses, possibly because I'm too stoic.

Oops, forgot to start with my own. Here's one: I joke around with this girl that works at Chipotle, I go there once in a while. While we were shooting shit she told me that when stuff is slow and she's bored, she eats rice out of a cup. So next time I went in there, I opened with "hey, having fun eating rice?" and that makes her giggle and I get to start with a good vibe. I guess this is more teasing than making her laugh though.

You're saying opening is the most important? I'm not so sure about that.

I really like the balance scale metaphor - thanks.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
