As a creative XX, I have no creative female friends. This could be because I prefer men to women, even platonically, but I find men have more to offer intellectually (EQ included), comedically, and yes, even creatively. I think this has a lot to do with how girls are raised, being told it's important to be attractive and wear makeup (just as boys are told the only acceptable emotions are happiness or anger), to where everything else falls by the wayside. No interest in hobbies, or a care to be w…

My thoughts exactly. "16-year-olds today are more likely to own a smart phone than X"!!! Fill in the blank.

Believe it or not, it's real. Yes, it's not a court, but it is real mediation. A friend of mine went on the show and is understandably embarrassed about that.

I think it's a wig. Bad choice, plaintiff, bad choice.

Who said anything about equating the MRM to being gay? Simply, I was trying to convey that individuals who wish the men's rights movement to make progress need to surrender their secrecy. Silence is a temporary gain to avoid personal conflict. Acceptance of your own beliefs and the courage to voice them is the first step toward considerable progress of the movement.

Extremely fucked. Yes, I agree.

I appreciate your concern. Fortunately the group is closed, and is not viewable to anyone unless I personally send them the link. I don't think anyone else is going to be interested; it seems the requests to join have stopped. The group is also doing really well, so I'm super excited to see where things go. Thus far, it's been a very welcoming and insightful group of individuals.

A group is different from a page. A page seems more like a selling tactic, while a group can be quite personal. I appreciate your input. I just changed it from "closed" to "secret" so that the page doesn't exist to non-members. As far as real life attacks go, it's sad that people are so offended by the mere idea that men experience inequality. It's things like this that make me want to continue to spread awareness. Anyways, thank you.

Like I said, it's not for everyone. Edit: Not to mention, it's up to the individual what they feel comfortable posting on the group wall.

That sounds about right. It's too bad they can't teach their fellow feminists about men's rights. It's like they're talking about the issue, yet still talking around the issue.

If that definition was accurate, you're right, they should care, but feminism is not synonymous with human rights or it would be called human rights.

I think the opposite is true. Dick's book is satire, while the "How to Make a Man Behave" was written to be a serious resource for women.

What would be awesome is if another student from your university sat in on your class (perhaps a female) and backed you up. You should see if anyone on /r/MensRights goes to your school.

Good point. I'm going to focus on one main issue, but briefly mention several others. Also, this class is more about gender than sexuality, which is why Men's Rights is actually a relevant topic any which way you look at it.

Yep, seriously. Typically, I can see that being true, but not in her case. I can't say this about any other professors I've had, but it's apparent to me that during our class discussions she legitimately wants to learn from the students as much as teach us. And she provides unbiased perspectives. She cares deeply about human rights, but I don't think she's explored much of Men's Rights. All of those reasons are why I care to share this with her and expect her to take the plan into consideration.

Are you serious? Instead of "not freak out" when someone says that women are more emotional and men more logical, educate them. Men are emotional, but society has taught them that being open with one's emotions is not appropriate or "manly". I think we're more the same than you realize.

I'm sorry, everybody involved would be better without her doing jail time? Are you kidding me?! She gets off with just a slap on the wrist and the 14 year old gets absolutely no justice! I speak from experience. Was 14 also when I went through something similar as this child (XX here). It does not matter the sex of the perpetrator, the punishment should be the same.
