What's UMC?

No. Marrying before 28 means 80% likely to divorce. Marrying before 26 for men means marrying without your brain fully developed. Shack up, have fun...but leave that door open because they will almost surely use it. I did.

Get prepared, then file. Get ready for a long and hard road. Focus only on you, as a father and your benefit to the children. Don't get in the crab bucket...remember this on the one day that you feel like writing that sniping email in return; once you go in the bucket it's really hard to get back out.

Get all agreements in writing by email, then in writing. State it clearly “we agree to X” Get a lawyer. Now. Take agreements to lawyer.

I would say it really, really does. I have the receipts on that one. But it’s a thing that started well before the bidding war began.

This is what I never hear discussed. So then isn’t it just “who can win the bidding war”?

A lot. But I’ll be on my feet enough to afford the kids an OK life. Not everything.

Sometimes it all comes down to perspective I’ve learned. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so. It’s not been any easy lesson.

Yes I am. Best money I’ve ever spent .

Exactly this. Uncanny. To the letter.

Go read “Man’s Search For Meaning” by Victor Frankel. Like, today. DM if you want to talk. I’m much older than you, been through a lot too. Don’t give up.

You have exactly one life to do everything you will do. Act accordingly. Leave.

Don’t live to impress or please another human. Change you for you and only because you want to be a better you. If you do that by taking good steps to fix inside those things, then you will succeed in any outcome here. Alternatively if you try to become what she wants, you stand a good chance to miss that mark and you still won’t be the person you should be inside. Doing this for you on your own terms can yield both outcomes, or just one, but not the worst one.

This is the right way to go. Stop wanting something. Instead go BE something. Then you will be the thing you want. Work on inner and outer self.

I do not think any of this explains it... I don’t have lingering feeling at all. I think it’s more about training? An odd form of missing pattern recognition. Like - “this isn’t the dull thing I am accustomed to! This was too simple! “ Almost as if I feel wrong for enjoying it too easily. Oooof.

Yes -! going full staff but not finishing , I think I got up in my head a bit too much? What IS that?

Or. If it fails- it is a harbinger of the end.

Do you have a post about deterioration phase and how it went to the edge of divorce? I feel like this is maybe my location....

I’ve found trying to keep witticisms in your pocket doesn’t work - you gotta build up that mindset

This is wrong. Bpd is borderline personality. In short - someone who isn’t good at finding the grey areas in life, and who’s identity is thus largely externalized to either binary good or bad definitions. The bpd person has a very tough time being resilient and modulating their reactions to undefined aspects of life: e.g. conflict or relationship challenges. Also I can’t speak for others but bpd is not a thing I diagnosed for anyone. This came from a PhD/MD.
/r/askMRP24/10/18 03:46 PM
1

Oh. Hmm. She loaded the gun, but BPD man, it’s a hell of a drug. Again I do concede residual anger. This thread made me see that.

Yep- this is what the lawyers are telling me. All your planning doesn’t matter because in the end if she fights you all the way the result is about the same as what you will get every time. Unless you can get an uncontested agreement, your plans are for shit.

Permission? No. Shared wisdom? Yes.
/r/askMRP23/10/18 06:27 PM

Let me clarify- divorce or not I don’t care. I’ll get what I want and need. So the outcome matters much less than the process.
/r/askMRP23/10/18 06:25 PM
1

Sure. I get that. And when you know you could be the oakiest oak that ever oaked and it would still not effect a change in the spouse, then what?
/r/askMRP23/10/18 03:57 PM
1

I understand that concept. And I would give it that time if I had even a sliver of consideration that spouse would come around. But I am not dealing in hopes and wishes. I’m burning days of my life now. The stay plan and the go plan are the same. So why would I wait to get to it? This is where I get a little wrapped up in MRP methodology. The tipping point- not easy to figure out.
/r/askMRP23/10/18 03:52 PM

I will concede some residual anger. Trying to be thoughtful as to what might be driven by anger. The issue is 20+ years of being a blue pill + bpd. And not just anecdotally. I am in month 5 of MRP. Not a fat fuck. But not there yet. Not near it. But apart from being a shitty beta for a quarter century... yea.

This the most interesting comment to respond to. I get the process and I recognize that I have not had an opportunity to follow it through. I see myself as high value already. As do others. That’s not at issue. Though there is plenty to do, that dynamic has always existed for me in this marriage. The thing MRP doesn’t really address and I suppose this is the point of it in the first place- that while MRP is a process towards self improvement and enhanced attraction motivators - it doesn’t do muc…
/r/askMRP08/10/18 02:31 PM

Yep. This is exactly what I know is the case. To have a laugh or a to commiserate on how shitty All men are or whatever. And I loaded to canon. Boom.

Guidance to what though? An end, I think.

Not apologizing not even brining it up. I get the point is progress. Just some stupid part of me thought a logical approach would work. I regret no words I wrote. Just somehow stupidly surprise d she decided to burn off the last atoms of trust to have a go at my expense. I don’t give a shit she did, but can’t fathom why that was the choice. I mean shit I knew as soon as my friend called what happened before he even said it.
/r/askMRP07/10/18 07:07 PM

That’s actually not how I put it. It was “I am going to have sex . You can decide if you want a role in that. But your choice won’t change my decision on this.”

Two kids and a desire to fix it. That’s where it comes from.

Fair point. I took the punch, I think, for data. Something to work from. Again not sure it was wise or helpful. Just wanted to take the power out of those stories.

As to #1 above- no history of either. 2 is interesting to consider.
