Have to completely disagree. It’s a sentiment that you might like to believe but it’s not true. Money is far from everything but imo salary is similar to your lifting numbers. In and of itself it doesn’t really mean much - but it represents how hard you can grind, push and fight for what you want.

The age range you shared is one where very few people have their shit together...do you? I wouldn’t overthink it at this point. If she’s 35 and has had a new job every year for a decade that’s a different story. “I’m 20 and not really sure what I want to do” is about the story of everyone.

Everything he’s said in his post is essentially being polite when first meeting someone. As he said “normal people shit”. Your reply alludes to the fact you don’t think this is normal people shit?

How do you currently establish frame? Frame isn't about power, and you can't force frame, it's about making it as easy for them to operate in yours as possible. I think the book at its core has principles about relationships between people that ultimately would support establishing frame. Maybe it is a bit dated, but imo it still holds very true today in many cases. Hence why you probably picked it up to begin with.

I think you're over-thinking it. Set a hard date, time and location. A couple days between texts for people you don't know doesn't seem totally absurd to me. People are busy. Maybe she was traveling for work. Or had friends in town. If it was a week or more I'd say move on, but she still seems pretty interested imo.

Flip it -- are you over-thinking the actions of other people? Likely not, you're over-thinking your own actions; similarly they're likely not thinking about all the things you did that you're now over-analyzing. It sounds overly therapist-y but I also believe that when you're over-thinking how people perceive you it's because you don't actually view yourself as having value. At the end of the day having confidence is about understanding your value, and it's not "will they like me" but "I'm cool …

The long response time is the last exchange? From Thursday to Sunday? Am I reading that timeline correctly?

Lol seriously. “I’ve tried nothing and I’m giving up.” OP - go talk to a doctor for Christ’s sake. Swimming is a GREAT way to exercise but it’s not normal to be in pain like that with no explanation...

Aziz Ansari has this great bit at James Franco’s roast that was calling out all the fat slobs on the deus. “Shit, you all think if you take a shower and read a few books dicks are just going to start flying in your face? Is that why the rest of you are all fat disgusting pieces of shit?”

Being polite and socializing as an adult and hating someone are not mutually exclusive. It seems like it’s essentially half of being an adult.

Does she actually have work she needs to do? If so, I wouldn't say getting her shit done first is saying you're not a priority.

I've never been so sure someone has actually no experience with women. Or people for that matter.

I actually think she's just assessing how you spend your day. Do you spend your day creating things, working with people etc. It comes across as defensive if for an entire conversation you just avoid it with weird phrases like "im a astronaut" - just note what you do and move on....

Ah I misread. Id then say call her on it. If you aren't in a relationship she has every right to be talking to others - but you can still call her on it, specifically why she told you she loved you but doesn't seek ready to commit.

Agree with others. It's about creating habits and building discipline. You're young. And honestly "keeping your room straight" or reading a lot doesn't mean shit. But if you think about it like "I've got discipline to keep my room straight - how do I transfer that to other things I don't like" (unless you truly enjoy cleaning...). And lastly - maybe traditional education system just isn't your thing. Maybe college isn't right for you - it's a flaw in the system to think everyone SHOULD go to col…

"Life is a competition." I'll let you have that point. But sure does seem TRP has you playing the short game. You're playing to win the game in the first quarter - but when the clock runs out you will be sad when you look at the scoreboard.
