Dude, for real, idk how they can reconcile with themselves that it's okay to do that to someone. The silent treatment until anger is what really showed my how manipulative she became.

That's the thing that I don't get though, is we were both making the same amount of money at the time so it wasn't a provider thing. It wasn't until I moved away for a bit to find a home that she flipped her personality like a switch.

Yeah, this is honestly what I figure it is. It feels like gaslighting, especially after I just asked her today what I did that was manipulative and she wouldn't even acknowledge it. I think that's the most distressing thing is if I did make that mistake, I want to know how so I can avoid it in the future. The article is great though, and luckily I don't have children involved but for some reason this feels way worse than any breakup I've ever had just because there's vows involved.

Thanks, man. We were married 3 years and they really were some of the happiest years of my life. I wouldnt say I was ever codependent on her but imagining the life I planned disappearing and having to start from ground zero again is tough. I know I won't be fulfilled without having a family too which is tough for me as well. I just wish i could be happy for more than 5 minutes again.

I was never lonely with her which is so hard for me. The idea that anyone would just leave a lifelong commitment for entirely selfish reasons is so foreign to my mind that I couldn't even fathom it. Its so hard for me because i wanted to be married since I was a kid and for me, being married is one of the pillars of a happy life and I had that but now I have nothing. I was in a happy marriage but now I'm alone. I lived in a nice enough house but now I live in my friend's basement. I had multiple…

A live action totally spies would have been more appropriate too.

It wasn't a comedy. But it used comedy to diffuse dark situations. If you couldn't laugh at some of the crap that happened to them that they brought on themselves then you don't understand "dark comedy."

You might just be by favorite person for 5 minutes. (Internet time moves fast.)

If you can relate, you are likely to laugh. You just stated that you can't so of course you don't laugh. Now, I'm not saying its hysterical. Personally, I don't did it funny though I can relate. But I can understand why people do and I take it as a joke. Because things like statutory rape, murder, drugs, sex, farts, etc. can be funny. There's a reason Breaking Bad was so popular. (No there werent rape jokes) People could laugh at how ridiculous something very real and very dangerous is.

True, it wasn't very funny. But it was relatable, no? Part of humor is being able to say, "omg, that's totally me! I get that because i had that mindset when i was there! Lol."

I was hoping it would be rational people debunking myths about inequality. Unfortunately, it seems that it's more of a circlejerk for tumblr feminists in men's bodies.

I didn't see those and if I did, I'd think they were funny depending on how they were represented. But prison rape jokes are funny because dark humor is funny. Look at breaking bad. The entire show makes you laugh at people being mutilated or getting so high that they OD. Are those things funny in reality? No. But they can be funny if we remove ourselves from the situations and learn to laugh at how shitty humans can be.

Not all jokes need a punchline. How relatable a joke is often determines how funny it is. Perhaps you never had a crush on a teacher during middle/high school. If you did then you can laugh about how you possibly fantasized about having sex with them and stop being offended because you can relate at a primal level. Yes, when it happens to someone, it's a terrible thing but only when it actually happens.

Or... We could stop trying to be like the feminists we always make fun of and take this as what it is: a joke.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
