Communicating with someone about their values while leaving out information that would disqualify you from said values is inherently manipulative.

"advocate communication to get to know each other better " No one is entitled to specific sexual history information until they are in a serious relationship with someone Pick One

My sexual history is nobody's business unless we are in a serious relationship" It is only manipulative if someone is purposely holding backinformation that they know would cause someone to back out of arelationship until they feel like they have them "on the hook" Pick One " If it is that important to a man to know a woman's number, then he mayinitiate discussions about beliefs about sexual activity and things likethat to determine values and make a decision from there" Asking for number of s…

You want to hold onto that info until the guy is already invested in a serious relationship and too late for him to back out without significant cost? And you are calling this not manipulative?

If you want to compare men to objects like apartments and houses then can we compare women to the used car analogy?

The problem with calling certain world views "outdated" and "bullshit" is you accept a subjective view of morality and thus loose the ability to criticize someone else's views the way you are doing here. His views may be outdated but yours will be as well in the future. If you keep a subjective view of what is right or wrong, his view are just as valid as yours which will be just as valid as those in the future regardless of what you think of them. Criticizing someone of being judgemental is con…

Both healthy/stable and hot babe are subjective. What you may see as “hot babe,” someone else may see as a reasonable expectation. It's not up to you to decide what someone else thinks is too high of a standard. Your original argument was if someone wanted to find a partner all they needed to do was put in more effort. You later had to add a qualifier by saying as long as their standards aren’t too high. How is someone who is having trouble finding a partner supposed to do it then? Do they incre…

"Men define what they can get by the choices they make every day to obtain what they want. Obviously, men wanting a hot babe to descend into their lap from a pegasus chariot will end up empty-handed (or empty-lapped), but a man wanting a healthy, stable, reasonably attractive woman? 100% attainable." You destroyed your own argument. Your definition of "healthy and stable" is not universal.

Lmfao. None of that is guaranteed with being married either. Last I checked the divorce rare was 50%, most of which is initiated by women. Considering how much of a risk divorce is for men as a whole, I think the fun guy got the better deal.

Maybe my choice of words wasn't the best but I wasn't referring to you specifically. The point is women who "want something different" later in life generally will hide their past whether you like it or not. So for men hiding your own intentions is the best way to protect yourself from a bad deal. You really want to make the world a better place? Start by advocating the one who do have power in the dating market (the women) to stop lying and hiding their pasts.

"MaKaiNg ThE WoRlD a BeTtEr PlAcE" Lmfao. If you cared about making the world a better place why not tell the guy your sexual history and let him decide. Why lie about it. If you want to keep that a secret the "average joe" can keep his intentions a secret.

The fact that you can flippantly say "they are dead" is proof enough that men are viewed as disposable.

I'll ignore your derogatory use of the word "prudish" who I assume is referring to people who have less sex relative to you. The fact that some people delay marriage for careers is irrelevant to the arguments and data presented.

I didn't say n-count was causal, that's why I linked the second paper implying its really their genetics behind their behavior. Since you cant see someones genetics easily, using promiscuity as a proxy to indicate propensity for risky behavior is perfectly reasonable.

Its about risk. More partners = more risk. Obviously its not guaranteed.

To each his own I suppose. Depending on how risk-averse you are, I would assume if someone wants to minimize the risk of a divorce/unhappy marriage, the data suggest marrying virgin is the way to go.

1) My argument wasn't about that second article 2) The second article doesn't use "lifetime sexual partners" it uses "number of partners prior to marriage"

I'm not sure where you are reading that. That quote doesn't appear anywhere in the article. Again, the study is talking about marital happiness, implying the people surveyed are married, and from the data, more non marital partners = less happy marriage. If what you are saying is that someone is married, then divorces, then fucks around, then marries again, then yes the article supports the idea that they will have a less happy marriage.

What in the world... Are you under the impression that a marriage's happiness can be retroactively effected by future partners?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 03:47 PM

My point was if genetics cause both promiscuity and other risky behavior, its perfectly reasonable to avoid a promiscuous person given they are more likely to engage in risky behavior (like cheating) due to their genetics...if that makes any sense.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 03:44 PM

Ummm, where are you reading that? The first article is about the correlation marriage happiness and number of sexual partners.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/02/20 03:31 PM

Yeah I agree. To your first point, I guess that would depend on how risk-averse someone is, but to each his own I suppose. To your other points, the article does support the hypothesis that sexually promiscuous people tend to show more risky behavior. Normally you cant draw out a causal relationship between promiscuity and likelihood to cheat, but I would think if there is a genetic component, avoiding a potential partner for having a high n-count is perfectly reasonable given they exhibit highe…

marriage 1) I never said anything about premarital sexual partners. 2) I'm not sure what you are saying. Yes, when you are single, and you have sex with someone you are not in a relationship with, it is considered premarital sex. If you are in a relationship with person A and you have sex with person B, you are cheating. I don't think that's relevant to the article though.

I guess it happens less in the south, I live in NYC, and while I do love it here, the women here are pretty darn narcissistic due to the fact that they get so much attention from thirsty men.
