As someone who waited till 30s to marry and have kids, last kid arrived when I was 37 and he was 41, and this week we took them on bike rides, he's 49, and the youngest is 8. any older and I can't imagine. He'll be 59 when the youngest graduates HS. Kids do not "keep you young". They wear you out and require a ton of energy.

If a guy was going to settle.. he wouldn't marry her. 15 year "boyfriends" are absolutely a thing women put up with. "Common law married because we have 3 kids, but no marriage" is totally a thing. For a man to actually make a legal declaration, and do the ceremony, it's got value to him. Everything else gives him excuses to make for the "right one" if she ever magically comes along.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
