It's not a hitpiece. It's not yellow journalism. This is giving the author too much credit. Stuff like the Vice article are the inevitable consequence of internet media, which is driven by clicks and shares, e.g. by pandering to an audience segment — not telling people new information and viewpoints, but reinforcing what they ALREADy believe. Here's what happens to produce articles like this: Some bright, enterprising kid graduates with a liberal arts degree, a MacBook, a carefully cultivated sa…

I suspect it's largely a matter of audience selection. What's the first thing you learn when taking the red pill? GTFO the internet, get out there and live. You might check in on TRP from time to time, but you don't live here. I think the comments/upvotes come from guys who haven't made that jump yet and are still living out a lot of anger and suffering from behind their keyboards.

No. "Feminism" is just a faith people invent and cling to due to lack of true self-esteem. It's no coincidence that many "feminists" (and many "men's rights activists," for that matter) are deeply neurotic, self-loathing inferiority complex addicts who spend vast quantities of time on the internet wallowing in their victim identities. Your friend is just insecure and resentful because of his own issues. This is causing him to invent his own victim narrative. Point him to some self help literatur…

What I appreciate about this sub is the honest and consistent-with-reality perspective on psychology and culture Oh man, yes, you nailed it. TRP just reminds you how much of your information is shaped not to inform you but to perpetuate structures and get you to buy more shit.

When I lived in Bushwick back in the day, what disgusted me about hipsters wasn't the fashion or trend following (young people in an urban area will do as they do) but the passivity and lack of passion for everything. For everyone I knew who was an artist with a gallery show, there were a dozen self-declared "artists" who barely produced any work and never exhibited or sold anything. For every writer hustling for a paying gig there were dozens who sat at coffee shops everyday with their MacBooks…

Hear hear. Living in opposition to something is a one-way road to victim identity, which will make your life miserable. You only need look at the SJW's and political pundits. Do any of them look like they're leading healthy, happy lives? They're neurotic and pathological. Live FOR your purpose, your tribe, your life; anything not directly in front of you or related to your immediate improvement isn't worth considering.

I recently bought a cheap fare (off Scotts Cheap Flights, highly recommended) and went to a totally random country for a few weeks, it was so great. It really gave me a respect for that old cliche that travel holds a mirror up to your own culture. Eagerly planning next trip.

I try to be compassionate for them. It's coming from a place of suffering and it creates more suffering. But it is unfortunate to see.

beyond prejudice; these people are genuinely mentally ill and have severe emotional disorders, that are only indulged and affirmed instead of challenged. It's repulsive and sad.

This is one of the best fucking posts on any of this stuff I've ever read. This is like the 95 Theses of getting pussy. I'm actually fired up about going out now.

"There's no going back once you take the red-pill" is bullshit because I guarantee you'll still end losing the people you love because of your ways. Maybe if you over-indulge in sociopathic narcissism like many men exploring self-improvement. However I can tell you from personal experience that my relationships with my family, friends and women have never been healthier or more rewarding. Before taking the Pill, I was coming from a place of neediness; now I recognize neediness and come from a pl…

I can't be the only one who actually feels sorry for the women in these situations. Not as much as the men, but they've been victimized by social conditioning too. She was goaded by Disney and her family and peer pressure into believing in the "get a husband" fantasy. I doubt she PLANNED to fuck up a marriage and kids. But the guy gets lazy, he's stressed at work, putting on weight... what, she's just supposed to tolerate that?

If there's one reality that last night laid brutally bare, it's this: You can easily surround yourself with media and people and pundits that parrot your views back at you, and you'll be very comfortable and get the warm and fuzzies every time you look at your Facebook feed. But cruel, ugly reality has a way of kicking down the door and rearranging your shit. And if you're not prepared it can be extremely unsettling. The people I know who are taking this election the hardest are the ones who cir…

This. You want people to feel less alienated and more heard by the mainstream establishment? Fucking listen to them. Don't ridicule and demonize every value they have and then be surprised when they wreck your self indulgent love fest.

The only "alpha trait" that matters is to not care what other people think and to find happiness and validation from within. That's it. That's the entire tl;dr for the Red Pill. The BluePillers are coming from a position of neediness and insecurity that causes them to reiterate the norms of their society or tribe, to create a sense of belonging (as are many of the angry and highly reactive RedPillers who post here). I try to be compassionate about the inner pain that drives these actions even wh…

The most incredible thing about cold showers is that moment when you realize you can just choose not to feel negatively about the cold. It happened for me about 2 weeks in. It was like, holy shit -- I'm feeling cold but I can just view it in a detached sense and be like "Yeah that's cold." I think the presence of mind this creates applies to so many other minor discomforts we face in life.

I think the ultimate goal is to recognize what YOU ultimately want to do, what you'll love the fuck out of, and do it. Some people have their own businesses because even after all the bullshit, they're actually happy. Some people are doing it because they're not honest with themselves and they THINK it'll make them happy, but it won't. They're more in love with the idea of being an entrepreneur than being an entrepreneur. You could swap in investment banking... backpacking Thailand... and so on.…

Your ex just handed you a gift, although it's probably a little too painful to appreciate right this moment. Being single and committed to self-improvement at 21 is going to set you up for tremendous lifestyle gains. Be grateful that she had the presence of mind to realize it wasn't working out -- now you both have more space in your lives for people and things that will. Your marching orders right now are to develop a philosophy of life -- a set of core values and principles about how you live …
