Do you divorce if there's no attraction left because your spouse aged like milk?Yep some valid points here. The lack of self respect to maintain a relatively healthy lifestyle could be a contributing factor to the emotional and physical. But based on OP not mentioning that and focusing on 'how much more I could make' and blaming lack of motivation on an unattractive partner makes me think this is mostly on OP and their own expectations | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/10/24 02:53 PM
Do you divorce if there's no attraction left because your spouse aged like milk?"Aged like milk" is terminology of something that has spoiled or been ruined. OP married for looks and is suggesting his/her partner is no longer attractive and it's ruining his/her drive to stay in the marriage Would suggest to OP to seek out some self counseling and work on themself a little instead of worrying about their partners appearance. There are many other facets to a marriage than the physical. Find them, explore them. Also what does money have to do with this? Sounds like OP has main… | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/10/24 01:47 PM
Anyone experience this in custody battleGoing through therapy with my wife and very similar. Therapist has recommended the book 'I hate you, Don't leave me' for dealing with BPD Have not read it yet but it's on its way and is supposed to have strong advice for how to handle this behavior Also continue to disengage and detach. Don't get dragged into the fights. It's quicksand and another attempt at control | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/06/24 03:58 AM
Tonight is the first night I felt like filing for divorceShe does not. We have always struggled as a couple with the support role. I wholeheartedly admit I haven't always been there as I was frequently preoccupied with myself. But I'm making those changes. I am not seeing similar effort from her I am in 'do the next right thing' mode exclusively for my daughter. Appreciate the thoughts | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/05/24 05:16 AM
Tonight is the first night I felt like filing for divorceI'm trying, but every piece of advice is I can only change myself. And I am. Divorce is not my preferred choice, but if you are with someone who is not willing to compromise, how can I continue? She avoids therapy sessions saying we can't afford them and I tell her we can't afford not to. As of right now she wants to officially separate and has cancelled future therapy sessions. What else can I do... | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/05/24 05:14 AM

Tonight is the first night I felt like filing for divorceThanks. Teenager feels about right although I'm still learning how to deal with some of these adult emotions. | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/05/24 09:32 AM
Tonight is the first night I felt like filing for divorceShe works 2 days a week. Was supposed to increase to 4 but that hasn't come to full fruition. She was, and still is, very much the girl boss mindset. I do not react all that emotionally, especially since it has now just become a thing. Originally it broke my heart, but the longer this goes the less I feel direct responsibility for the collapse And I think you're right about the control portion. She always seemed frustrated that I was aloof, forgetful, and unreliable so I went and really took car… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/05/24 09:28 AM
Tonight is the first night I felt like filing for divorceIt was on the advice of our couples therapist and likely because I was previously a user. There is a lot in Al Anon though that is beneficial, even if you aren't dealing with an alcoholic. Learning that I can't change her behavior, only she can, whether that center on alcohol or not has been supremely beneficial for me | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/05/24 09:25 AM
Tonight is the first night I felt like filing for divorceThanks for taking the time to read and respond. I will add it to my list | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/05/24 05:54 AM
