It's taboo to put them down if they make it taboo to do so. For some reason I can't see Betty White pulling this, cuz she wouldn't care enough to be bothered by it Amy Schumer does seem to care so she makes the hate against her seem huge and evil, and all of a sudden being against her is the bad thing. Tons of people create outrage where it shouldn't be, she is just also famous.

Well if a subset of the population gets socialized to think they shouldn't go into a field, that field has a smaller talent pool to draw from, so it won't advance as fast. If more women become electrical engineers, that's an increase in the amount of electrical engineers, so naturally there will be more really good electrical engineers who will do cutting edge research to advance the study of electrical engineering, which is good for everybody. Right? Like a make specific scholarship for electrical engineering wouldn't make sense since its very male dominated already, but for this it was very female dominated, so they wanted to correct an imbalance, which is fine. I've always heard that gender inequality either way ends up hurting both sides, let's fix it in both directions
