I am married, and have been for 14 years, together for 18. Also, I was her first, so not sure if there's anything to it, just putting that out there. Anyway, she took a work assignment to the USA a few years ago. We ended up living in America for 2 years. On the first day of our arrival, I left my ring by accident in the hotel we spent our first night in. So I'm without ring, but neither she nor I sweat it. Fast forward 2 years, and we're moving back to the UK. On arrival, she goes to the airpor…

No, I've been this way for as long as I can remember. My wife is one of those people that thinks not everyone has an agenda. I said to her all guys want to fuck. There is no such thing as platonic inter-sex relationships. Sooner or later one will start thinking of the other in more ways than just friendship. I know, because that's how I am. And I don't think I'm different to any other dude. I may just be more honest about it. Every female friend I've had either became a girlfriend, or I liked he…

My wife is pretty solid in her marriage vows and we never have any real problems. We've been married 13 years now, and been together a total of 17 years, so life is good. We engage in sexual contact no fewer than twice a week, and have done so from the beginning. Of course it used to be more frequent, but I do a physically draining job, and are more often than not the one to say 'not tonight, I'm knackered'. But even when she's feeling crabby, she'll offer a handjob, so sex has never been an iss…

South African born and raised to approx. the age of 18, but living in the US since, so at least residency, but probably citizenship in America. Anyway, very clever and rich, but no common sense. C'est la vie, you can't make a horse drink.

Yeah, similar story with a friend of mine. Motorcycle crash, paralysed from the torso down. Wife left him inside of 6 months. On a side note, he imported an 1967 Eleanor Mustang, adapted to hand controls, so he's handling it pretty OK. But shit sucks to lose your wife and kids because of an accident.

I'm very late to the party, but I just want to leave this here. On UK BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine talk show, I've heard a few discussions when a male teacher had sexual intercourse with a female student. He was of course an older male, using his mature mind to deceive and mislead a young, vulnerable and ignorant underage girl...a peadophile. Then, there was the female teacher who had sexual intercourse with a male student. He should have known better, as it's all part of this alpha male stereotype…

Not to detract from the original post, but a little anecdote of women using poison, over a century ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_de_Melker

And if you look and listen closely (or not so closely, it's quite evident), the boys who speak like this is very effeminate. Shit drives me up a wall. A guy (he sounds gay, but may not be), is visiting my neighbours as we speak, and I can hear him talk as I'm writing this. It's fucking annoying, so I lit a barbecue fire, and playing some Slipknot, which normally drives them back inside.

You know, in my teens I was friends with this girl. I started out with a crush on her, but not making a move immediately proved to be a good thing, as over time I became aware of some really shitty behaviour on her part. So, we only stayed friends, and that was that. I also don't think she had a thing for me. She fucked a few of my friends at the time, but we never dated. We were close, always together in that 'thick-as-thieves' kinda way. So much so, that her dad (also aware of her slutty ways,…

Not sure if 'husbank' is a legit spelling error, or portmanteau, but I'm using it from now on!

My grandpa cautioned me against overly promiscuous women at an early age. In South Africa, the saying is 'early ripe, early rotten', which is another way to say what /u/drrrrrr said.

It's weird you say that. I've done a welding apprenticeship, but I was already into my 20's when I made the leap. When I was 18 or so, I had an opportunity to study a diesel mechanic apprenticeship. But as you've said, they're looked down on, and even my own family (who isn't well-to-do) actively discouraged me from doing it. Biggest regret of my life. So, when a found myself in another country, older, with no real career prospects, I decided to do that apprenticeship after all. I'm at a disadva…

I lent my copy of 'Rich Dad' to a 23 yo guy in New Jersey ( lived there for 2 years). I can sense the same passion and excitement in your comments as I've felt and the youngster felt after reading it. I cannot recommend that book enough. After reading it, my every thought went into figuring out a way to better my circumstance, it's that powerful!

I have a view on life, although it isn't popular with others. Basically, I don't give a shit for advancement in my company. Once I have a job, that job serves to pay bills. OK, as a welder, I get paid an hourly rate, so overtime is paid at time-and-a-half. But if I was salaried, I wouldn't work any overtime. So what if you're looked over for promotion? I work to live, not the other way around. So, I leave work at 5 (if I'm salaried, that is), and develop a hobby that can be turned into income. Y…

TLDR: Stocks and property I've invested in some property. That is, I've purchased 2 extra homes (although those will only be income by the time they're paid for). I took advantage of some government sweeteners to purchase (lowered deposit in one instance, higher threshold for stamp duty in the other). Doing a lot of the renovations myself I saved quite a bit of money, with the ability to rent at a slightly higher rate. The initial mortgages were 25 years per property, but so far that's been redu…

I've considered it, but from some research I've done, life expectancy is decreased between 7 - 10 years. How careful you are plays a big role, but apparently you suffer a cumulative effect similar (or the same) as decompression sickness. Over years this builds up and has an effect on your life span. I don't know all the details, but I've decided to not risk it. As I've stated, I'm no longer in the mood to just chase money. As important as it is, it can only buy you health cover, not health itsel…

I read 'Rich Dad, Poor Dad' by chance one day, just sitting on the bog at my friends place. I was captivated within the first chapter. Went out and bought the book, then 2 more by him. It was, I think, the single most life changing event I had ever experienced. The information laid out in that book is basic knowledge to seemingly everyone, but me. This was back in 2008, and I started putting his advice to practice. I'm a welder by trade. I enjoy welding, and while it makes OK money, I'll always …

Let me tell you a story: My dad is 71 this year. He's been riding motorcycles all his life (since he was 15 or so). Anyway, he never rode anything big. The biggest he had was a 400cc Honda through most of the 80's - early 00's. So, in around 2007 my mom relents and lets him buy a early 90's BMW K75. My dad is a small guy, around 5'6" and 140 lbs wet. But, the BMW isn't real powerful, so all is well. He then hits the jack pot in a raffle draw at a local bike meet where he wins a Victory Hammer. T…

Context is key though. I'm a tradesman (welder to be exact). I'll do a job which a line manager or foreman has promised for completion/delivery on a specific date or time. I'll do the job, but sometimes it won't be done to the schedule as promised. I can only work this fast for the quality you expect. Sometimes, when it looks like a deadline will be missed, the boss is surely quick to make an appearance. Keep in mind, others will make a promise based on delivery expectations, rather than a reali…

But you get what I'm saying. To her, a build like Schwarzenegger's is over the top. She says it'll feel like she's being crushed. On the other hand, she's not a Brad Pitt lover either, so girls do seem to have widely different tastes. However, the lanky, skinny Calvin Klein model is a definite no-no. My wife likes being a woman, and she likes men being men. She has told me numerous times that the men in her office (even the higher paid managers etc) is a huge turn-off for her. As a result, night…

As my name suggests, time to shine. I'm 6'2", wide shoulders, big enough arms (welder & fabricator) and after 15 years together, my missus still dotes on me. Her absolute wet dreams are Hugh Jackman (X-Men), and a close second is Thomas Jane (The Punisher). My face has a more Vin Diesel look (balding, so I just shave it all off), but Vin Diesel is a close 3rd for her in ideal looks (I'm not as big though). I'd say work on your arms, nice and muscular - well difined biceps. Work on your chest - n…

This reply hasn't much to do with OP's situation. I just wanted to comment on your grandpa. My grandpa (mom's dad) was very much like yours. Taught met more about being a man than my own dad did. My dad was a beta (still is, you can read previous posts if you like), and he hated my mom's dad. Ironically, my grandpa tried to convince my mom not to marry my dad. He thought my mom needed a more manly man. He even tried to bribe her financially, to let him go. As I've said in a previous post, she's …

I chuckle every time some guy tells me how hot some of the 'chicks-with-dicks' are. It is still a dude, no matter the facial reconstruction, long hair and boobs. To each their own, and if that floats your boat, have at it. But I can not get past the genitals. And a woman that used to be a man, I feel, is only a woman in body, not in mind. You may take estrogen, and be all emotional and shit, but your life experiences were still that of a man. And I can never take your opinions as a women serious…

I was seeing this girl. Good looking too. We were both around 18/19 at the time. When I look at her FB pictures now (at 36), she's still good looking, and I regret nexting her. At the time I was a hot head. No woman ever gave me shit and got away with it. But this girl didn't really transgress in the traditional sence. See, I wasn't the most pleasant teen, and didn't get on with girls' dads for the most part. But when I started seeing Charlene, her folks and I clicked instantly. I'd visit her mi…

TL:DR - I stopped idolizing my mom due to her attraction to other males instead of my dad. I love my mom dearly. I live in a different country, and only see her maybe once in 3 years. We talk on the telephone maybe 5 times a year. So when I visit, she genuinely seems overcome with joy to see me again. I like that. The fact that she loves me like I'm still a child. So that sentence is to put my love for my mom in perspective. However, I do not idolize her. For as long as I can remember, she has d…

You're correct, 'graft' does refer to bribery. But in other English speaking countries ie. England, South Africa, etc. the word is more commonly used to mean 'hard work'.

TL:DR Mom is a good wife, but thinks I'm a misogynist. I have a traditional, stay at home mother. Dad worked, mom raised kids, cleaned house, did laundry and cooked dinner. However, she's got a solid head for finances and saving, and while we never had luxuries, we were also never in debt. This does not make my dad an alpha. Far from it. A bigger pussy in my life I've never encountered. He's not a bad guy. Worked, put food on the table. Paid his mortgage diligently and went to church. But my mom…

I've been back and forth on this topic. Logically, this is the correct answer.Snip and never look back. But mentally (emotionally, I guess), it feels like a part of me will be gone forever. Not rational, I know. I just can't get myself to do this.

I agreed to get married if she agreed to no kids. Deal was done. 4 Years in, she says she's changed her mind (28 yrs old at this point). I said to her, fine, you can have kids, but not with me. I'll start making arrangements to move out. She takes a few days, then decides it's not worth leaving me. We're 35 now, and the topic is settled. There will be no kids. I don't give a shit, I don't want them. Not in the past, not now and not in the future. It's just not for me. But the issue with my wife …
