Can a husband legally force his wife to stay at home and jeopardize her career? No, he cannot! Like I said earlier, a 100 years ago it might have been the case, but not now. And rightfully so. Neither he can make the decision to have kids for her. If she does so, it's her decision. Her decision may be influenced by her husband, but ultimately it's her choice. And she has to understand the consequence of this choice. There is absolutely no justification for alimony these days.

I agree, but it changes nothing. When the couple makes decisions, it means each individual in a couple makes choices for himself or herself. Like the couple decides to have a child, but then the woman decides to stay home and a man decides to keep working. That's their individual choice. Noone can make it for them. And therefore only they individually should be responsible for it and not expect the government to force the other person to pay for the consequences of their individual choices.

I think it should be the reverse. The alimony should not be in the marriage agreement by default. And if the couple agree, they can sign a contract to have it in. As for the child care, again I think people should be responsible for their own choices. Having a child is a life changing event. You should really measure all pros and cons before making the decision. But once the decision is made, noone should be responsible for it but yourself. If the woman feels like she has to sacrifice hey career…

I disagree. A hundred years ago, maybe. When the husband had authority to prevent the woman from working. Now no man can demand that his wife stays at home if the wife doesn't want to. And if she does want to stay at home and jeopardise her career, that's her decision alone and should be her risk alone. The man should not be legally responsible for her bad life choices.

I too don't see what the big deal is in this case. A bunch of people believe women are better coders. So what? Those who actually code and deal with those who code, know what's up. What the rest think about the issue doesn't really matter, imo.

Exactly this happened to my brother. Only his ex made him do it because of her religious position not hygiene concerns. Their marriage didn't even last one year... I don't know if he regrets being circumcised though. We don't talk much.
