It's different if your choice in Y is removed, as I said about variation in circumstances. Plus in my country at least, I do pay towards other people's children despite having none of my own, it's called Taxes, is that fair? Or if you are that concerned about maintaining your independence you could get a vasectomy or not have sex with women that you don't trust to take your views into account.
