12	The ignorance and loathing is real I don't understand some of the downvotes I'm seeing in this thread. I've never done this but I totally get it. If I fall asleep in a seated position on a plane, my legs will naturally want to spread unless I actively keep them together. 4	The gender disparity in STEM fields, explained. I'm not saying girls don't want to/can't learn about computers, just that culturally/socially it seems that girls are less encouraged to do so from an early age. Also not saying that everyone who is a programmer did it from an early age, but as a programmer myself I can say that I was miles ahead of lots of folks (boys and girls) by the time I started college.. and it was a very meaningful, applicable advantage.	/r/MensRights	02/05/15 03:27 PM

Listened to a podcast on this recently (Freakanomics(?)) where this disparity was at least partially explained by the fact that boys are much more likely to dick around with computers and be way ahead of the game by the time they're studying them in college.	/r/MensRights	02/05/15 12:55 PM
