It should be that if you're not strong enough regardless of who you are you don't join. Plenty of pogs see some form of combat, kind of. And if it were a draft I would imagine the situation would warrant EVERY able body to be ABLE to fight just in case.

A fully kitted soldier of average build is usually around 285 lbs. if you're buddy goes down and help is a couple hundred meters away you're going to carry him there. We train for that all the time bud. Also, I didn't literally mean I'm stressed out by this. I was just trying to express my mental frustration figuring out how this could be handled. But that's far above my pay grade.

I don't think you understand. the army has regulations for how long a female can be in the field without a shower. I was wondering how they would change that or if it will affect op tempo.

300 lbs is pretty easy with a fireman carry. It's getting into that position that's awkward. Also most 18 year old males could do that after basic for 14 Weeks.

Some missions take longer then others. Showers aren't readily available. I don't imagine mensuration would be a problem that much. A women going through so much physical stress and lack of food would temporarily stop that wouldn't it? Perhaps someone could correct me.

I get a constant 275 on my pt test. If one of my soldiers does better then me (which the little Bastards do sometimes) I give them praise. I know I'm not the best, there's always room for improvement. But when I get 79 push ups and not max, but a female does 36 and is above max I get a little frustrated. Like you said, if they can do the job just as good or better then welcome sister, let's go shoot bad guys. But if they can't then someone will get hurt because of it.

As a male serving as infantry, I'm mildly upset about this. Just thinking about the logistical nightmare this is going to cause is a lot to consider. anyone who has been in the infantry can attest to the fact that being downrange isn't very female friendly. I'm not saying females can't do my job, I know a lot of them could. My opinion is that they shouldn't. And it's nothing to do with women, the army has different fitness and strength scales for men and women, and the difference is staggering. …

Honestly You do have to consider all Men combatants. I'm a soldier and this is just how I have had to think. Please don't down vote me for this but they were referred as Fighting Age Guys...F.A.G.S. It was a humorous yet tactical way of calling out what we saw. Did we shoot everyone we saw? No, we were "Winning hearts and minds". Most of the time we just took mental note of how many guys we saw around and passed it up so that we might better understand combatant numbers IF there was a firefight.…

I'm an infantry NCO with a deployment to Afghanistan. If a female passes ranger school I would go into combat with her, granted she passed as an equal according to standard.
