I had a similar experience to this except mine was simply out at a bar with friends. Had a girl bump into me from behind while I was seated and apologize, no biggie. Happened a second time with-in 5 minutes so I started talking to her. Turns out she was in town for job training and we fooled around in her hotel all weekend. That's when I learned, like you, that there are no accidents.

Be honest with her. Tell her your intentions but be ok with what ever response she comes back with, you know, since at that point it becomes her choice.

Here's the cold hard truth. You'll never really know why because it could be any number of a million different reasons, all you need to know is in that moment she felt compelled to text you. You just need to decide whether you want to talk to her or not and don't worry about her reasons. I personally respond with stuff like "Hey, what's up." See where it goes from there. I personally found hobbies that I enjoyed and that made me happy. As soon as I was happy again I stopped caring so much about anything other than having a good time and everything started to fall into place.

This has all worked for me. Instead of Hi/Hello I say Howdy usually. And specifically asking about something from there profile while being playfully witty gets me a really good response rate.
