No need to feel ashamed of your reaction of not saying anything witty back to him, or even of throwing away your treats. It’s normal to not know how to react when something absurd like this happens. It wasn’t fair he put you in that situation. You are not weak for not speaking up or for not being able to shake the feeling at home. Just finished the book “Why Does He Do That?” And a couple red flags of a potential abuser are: Saying he doesn’t like women, but you’re different, not like the others. This shows insight into how he views women in general. He will eventually start to see you in the same way and use it a against you (“you’re just like the rest of them!”) in a matter of time.
