INAL but typically a suspended sentence means that the sentence has been delayed for that amount of time and so long as you don't fuck up (for some definition of 'fuck up') during that suspension time, the sentence gets dismissed at the end. So based on that, I'd assume that if she doesn't fuck up in the next 83 years, that 83-year portion of her sentence will be dismissed.

It’s really infuriating that I see it a lot with older 20’s women I suspect at least part of it is a coping mechanism to help explain why they're still single. It's easier to explain to friends that you're single because you're just picky than it is to admit that nobody wants you.

The problem with that logic is it assumes that false accusation has no lasting, harmful effects on the accused. Unfortunately this isn't just a fraudulent charge on a credit card where you can call customer service, have the charge reversed and carry on with your day as if nothing happened. Live are irreversibly changed and reputations remain tarnished even after the accused is exonerated. The courts are not going to send a notice to everybody in a town or even the exonerated individual's social…
