This is plain bad advice, RPW or not. Creating a potential argument to “make a point” is not how life works. I was highlighting the RPW part because you’re supposed to be all about it, but this is the exact opposite of how it’s supposed to work.

I thought one of the main parts of RPW were being direct and not playing games that you expect the other to mind-read 🤔.

Are American men so cheap that women feel like a man who pampers them are special? Come on. In my experience from dating men from several countries, they find it extremely easy to spend on women - actually, SPLURGING - unless they are extremely stingy! This mean absolutely nothing if the respect and emotional support isn’t there. Even if the man hasn’t got much money and worked hard to earn it, it might mean nothing at all. I expect being treated with gifts and nice dates as one of the minimum r…

No. Some LVM truly enjoy spluring on women they like. But is simply means nothing without real respect.

I have experienced attraction after several dates with two LTRs... the more I liked them, the better I started seeing them physically. I literally was so in love with one ex that I almost saw an imaginary six pack under certain light conditions. It wasn’t really there. On the other hand, I have dated hot guys whom I realized that I didnt feel attraction to and was irked when they kissed me or touched my hands, etc. My point is, physical attraction might be broader than “hot bod, not hot”. If his…

This happened to me as well, although I’m pretty, my friends were much more. You gotta acept it and understand that when you go out with them, men will be drawn to them first. That means that you gotta try other ways to meet men without them. This can even mean going out with only 1 of your friends or going to different places by yourself or with other people.

Buy the app BrainBuddy and try to talk (even videocalls) with someone all the time for the first week, which is the harder. These two have helped me the most!

This might seem a simple detail but is a game changer if your partner is not the passionate-loving type during sex. He can change if he sees positive results for himself when pleasing you the way you like it and paying extra attention to your needs.

I felt this with my current partner for several months, but I think my case was worse because I felt REALLY resentful and hurt. His way of having sex didn’t make me feel loved and didn’t feel really passionate TO ME (he said he liked it just fine). I felt it was too rough, and sometimes I felt like he didn’t even see me, that he didn’t care to please me. I started developing negative feeling towards him and sex in general, and shortly after he started feeling that I didn’t feel attraction to him…

“I love him being crazy for me”. Simply speak with pride with no room for negotiation or further comments. I just smile, say I enjoy doing stuff he likes and nod my head once with absolute confidence. Nobody ever questions my decisions or would dare to tell me I’m being controlled.

You make yourself feel like crap. The first step to real healing is recognizing your responsibility in your own life. I saw you blamed your family, brainwashing and your subconcious. In the end, it’s how you took what your family taught you, and how you have trained your brain to think and react. And if you don’t internalize that not even therapy can help you. If you can go to therapy, you should. Not to be submissive but to learn ways to rewire your thoughts and feelings towards these situation…

I’m a professional makeup artist. I love makeup and I don’t consider my face the prettiest and I’m always tempted to contour heavily, but I only do if I’m going for example to a night party. I think the key is to see makeup as an improved version of a real human being. For example: - Using colors that may actually exist in a human body such as muted pinks, browns, and subtle peach, red (avoid fucsia, blue, bright pink, and if you wear red lips don’t do your eyes too dark). - Don’t wear too fluff…

This. On top of what you said, there are cultural difference that also play a part. For example, in latin america the most heard story since forever is that men are more likely to cheat. Especially in older generations, it was the most common thing that women suffered alone at home while men went out and cheated. Grandmothers accepted it like something most women had to endure, with some lucky ones who found a man who loved them profoundly and didn’t hace eyes for nobody else.

I’m sorry but is very unlikely! There are some men who choose to abstain for spiritual practices that don’t require their partners to follow the same path, for example yogis and taoists, but it’s unlikely that they’d want to date a woman who doesn’t, because those kind of men (the ones that choose chastity) are usually EXTREMELY commited to their practice. Another example I could think of (it’s not to be mean) is a man who is well below your SMV and are desperate to get you. Or that they think t…

My advice is: Look for social patterns for yourself that apply to your context, and ignore common online advice, because it’s probably written by americans, ESPECIALLY stuff about crafting and reading bios. The obvious thing would be: if you see a picture of a guy drinking at a party, that’s probably what you are going to get... a guy who likes drinking and partying. If he’s with two women side by side he wants you to think he’s got lots of chicks. Simply look for guys who seem nice and well ada…

2.5 years, we broke up almost 4 years ago and I still think about him. It took me about 3 years to stop crying from our memories together. Mostly sad thoughts because although I’ve had other relationships and dated, I still haven’t fell in love and haven’t met someone who’s as caring, loving as he was, and who I get along so well with. This is condescending and inefficient advice. I’m sorry if it’s not the case, but looks like written by a pretty girl who can’t see past her own reality. OP is not a silly sweet summer child. In some circles what she says is true: men like them better blonde. For example, in my city even the ugliest blonde get more attention that a brunette. It obviously doesn’t apply to all cases, and DEFINITELY not everyone looks good with blonde hair. That specific thing should be determined by a professional…

It’s actually very simple (not necessarily easy). Children love when you can see the world as a child, and are aware of their feelings and reactions. Keep your interactions HONEST, because kids can tell when you’re faking it. For example if she grabs your necklace, you take it off and look it in a way as a kid would: with wonder and curiosity. Maybe with a happy surprise face and an excited “WOW!”. Of course few adults would really feel wonder from something as a necklace, but you can truly feel…

I didn’t read a single argument in favor of setting my sight on a poor man or someone who does manual labor. Looking for a hard working, committed man is already implicit in every RPW discussion. This character has random pieces of personality, goals and careers put together. Seems more like an elaborate “I’m not like the other women” story.

Luckily for me and my friends things went ok with these kind of relationships. My mom, sister and sister-in-law also had older boyfriends when they were very very young. Everyone broke up, because that’s what you do when you’re a teenager. And you can’t protect your sister from heartbreak. Now as an adult I would definitely consider those 20-something guys who pursue teenagers to be losers. Some were hot or rich but weren’t pursuing a career and received money from parents. So they’d go for girl…

23 year olds are sometimes inmature too. Most of my friends from highschool had 20-23 boyfriends and they broke it off for different reasons but the common denominator was inmaturity from the guy’s side. I don’t think is such a big deal. Definitely I was inmature when I was 16 but doesn’t mean that such a relationship is unsustainable. And most relationships at that age end anyway. Of course she should be careful of him not trying to take advantage of her age. But her being with a 16-18 year old…

Sometimes I get stressed at my job and get unpatient and harsh with coworkers. I felt terrible so I put a daily reminder on my phone that says “be nice” and I “snooze” it every couple of hours . So far it has worked! I change the phrasing every week so that I don’t get fully accustomed to it and start ignoring it. You could try this but with a specific quality that you want to start practicing through the day for example: “give compliments”, “smile more”, etc.

Casual sex might be “health neutral” in some cases. There’s rarely absolute truths in life, after all. I’ve experimented and met many people around both drugs and promoscuity and I’ve noticed great similarity: while some people try out drugs/casual sex a couple of times and are otherwise completely healthy and normal ...there are some other people who are drug addicts/promiscuous. These people usually say that they are just enjoying their lives, that drugs or promiscuity are acceptable lifestyle…

I understand you. I live in a somewhat conservative society and what I was rebelling against, was my society’s and my family’s rules. Sometimes I wish I could take it all back...But in the end I am grateful for it all because it gave me a deeper understanding of myself and life. All the pain made me search for knowledge that helped me recover my spirituality and understand my family’s wounds. Maybe it was all part of God’s and my soul’s path... after all, my experience is the only way I can talk…

About the messed up cycle - it has happened to me as well. While I’m not in sync with the moon, my period became stable and also I have learned to feel many mental and spiritual phenomenoms that every woman has access to. I think it’s a much more complex thing than just having or not having casual sex. What u/carry2388 describes is clearly a transformation from unhealthy mindset anx habits to healthier ones. It was an example of how relatable it is. Because it’s a prevalent thing in families around the world. My intention is not to keep arguing, by the way, so I won’t gwt involved in a sarcasm duel. I work on stats and reports of these kinds. We also study the phenomenom around the world. In England, 2/3 sexual abuse cases are perpetrated by family members and close friends. Where do you thing the prevy uncle meme came from? Definitely not from Saudi Arabia or India. So I’d think twice about that “rape culture doesn’t exist in US , Canada and Europe”.

The religious examples are two that I have worked with in my job. But the dynamic is the same with regular rapists. Victim reports rape, nobody believes her. She drops it there. You can’t change a word’s definition because you feel like it means something different. The definition of rape culture, is a culture that normalizes rape. Period. Maybe you’re skeptical of the current predominant debate in your society’s media about that topic. Or you are skeptical of certain ideas surrounding consent. …

You said clearly “I don’t believe in rape culture”. You’re confusing the term rape culture. Listen, I am 100% in favor of women taking precautions to avoid rape. I myself go out with a taser and a swiss knive in my purse and won’t be changing that. I agree that there’s a culture of victimhood that has gone so far to suggest that even if you don’t verbally disagree, men should know where to stop and magically guess what consent means for you. But what you describe as “rape culture” is NOT IT. You…

Feminism is a global movement. It’s not a couple of specific actions that took place in a single country, in a single time frame. It takes more historical analysis to make those kinds of opinions. Could you cite some sources? I’d like to learn more about the historical process that you mention in your country.

THIS. The good old family days are mostly an idealization of a desired future. I don’t think the case against feminism shouldn’t be about “going back to traditional values” because that would mean rejecting our current rights and embracing stuff like: marital rape, not being able to divorce your cheating, violent husband, and so on. I hope that new movements advocate for a different future that keep the best parts of the present systems, and protest against the negative parts. Life is not black …

I don’t think it’s oppressive, since no one is forcing you or keeping you to do anything. Peer pressure doesn’t count as oppression, by definition. I’m not trying to judge anybody here, but I’d like to encourage those who say they reject feminism as a whole, to keep an open mind and put a couple of things in perspective :) I explained in a previous comment that I work in a feminist organization in Latin America, what issues we work on, and a little about my personal experience and social context…

I don’t know if it might be an American or European thing. I’ve NEVER encountered in real life one of those feminists I read about in here. I absolutely love everything else about RPW, but I’m pretty skeptical about the “feminism is evil” narrative. OP, I kinda understand you. I’ve always been a dominant person. When I was a teen I thought that letting people know if I was feeling sad, embarassed or any emotion that I considered “weak” would make me look stupid. But you know, that’s a subtle example of mysogyny. You’re grouping feminine qualities in the “disgusting” bag. Being emotional, being vulnerable, etc. What worked for me was learning about “sacred femininity”. It’s mostly used in spiritual non religious practices, but it is very com…

I agree with what you say about hair lenght! My ex boyfriends had really loved my short hairstyles. My current boyfriend says that he likes my long hair, but also makes lots of comments of how difficult to take care it is and he often combs my hair and recommends me products (that won’t work, but it’s cute that he’s trying to help!). I checked out RPW because I couldn't undersand how could other women be in favor of such disrespect to women at TRP, and after reading a lot I understood that they were two separate things that serve two different purposes. And I've been reading for a couple of years since then as a way of self improvement and to learn about relationships ❤️.

First: I don't think the main problem is the way you look. People who are weak will definitely get more shit from others. It's not that simple. Porn addiction is a real thing, as much as alcoholism or drug addiction. It's weird indeed. If they were having sex in the floor... Yea definitely knees are gonna hurt a bit, but on a bed it's almost impossible that you get knee pain, unless he's got a serious chronic condition. Many men would endure pain during a good sex session. My ex boyfriends have held me in their arms until exhaustion, fingered me until their forearms, and the list goes on. I think this works well with extended social circles. Not close ones because the awkwardness. I always ask for "references" of the guys that pursue me. But it's easier because I live in a small city, and my social network would be around 100 people. So most of the time I have a friend that knows the guy I'm dating, and I can ask about them.

Exactly. I'm pretty close with the music scene in my area. I consider this a red flag too. The girlfriends and wives of mucisians i know (lots of them) usually attend the gigs and they are usually the most enthusiastic fans. They usually party along with their partners. I would find it very weird that he doesn't want you to feel proud of seeing him play. I've seen that the ones who don't attend, are usually the ones who dont approve the crew's lifestyle. Porn is lile alcohol for some people. There are some that enjoy it with control, and there are some that use it as a way to cope with life and become super messed up from it. There are cases of porn addiction, porn induced erectyle disfunction, and cases of people so desensitized by frequent porn use, that they can only be turned on by messed up stuff like animals, underage people, rape, gore... Agree with most, except for the end: it sound childish and insane for you, but every person is different. It might be just a custom for them to celebrate dating aniversaries. Where I live, dating for year usually indicates that the relationship is very serious, and most people celebrate dating anniversaries (even old people!) with getaways or fancy dinners (affluent part of the city of the city). Maybe this will be unpopular, but I look up to Natalie Portman. She is a super outspoken feminist, and I know that most RPWs are not feminists. She is smart, feminine, respectful, well mannered, well behaved. She understood from a young age that becoming more reserved (especially with her sexuality) would gain her more power and respect. And she's so smart, I love her.

Your colleague's behavior is completely inappropiate! There's no way that touching your thigh (!!) and asking you to lunch with him alone are signs of a genuine friendship. He's not you friend, period. But I think that men and women can definitely be friends when there's enough distance. I've noticed when the friendship develops passively and slowly over months/years and there's no pressure from either side, it's more likely to be genuine (for example a friend from college or a friend with whom …

I've read tons of stories about the problems in Europe with arab inmigrants and it's terrible :( Although I know that secular societies are the most peaceful all over the world, I don't agree that islam is their (main?) poison in itself, or that it causes them to think that women are "lower than animals". It will be definitely a cultural shock for me, because my people are mostly very emotional, family oriented and loving (also loud and with no sense of personal space 😂). Immigrants from my country usually end up with other latinos abroad because of this, it's even an ongoing joke. I once had webcam sex with an ex bf. We never showed our faces, and it was fun and thrilling. I think it's better than posting it online, because although someone might record it, it's a bit less likely to stick in the internet forever. Then about your body, I wouldn't really worry about that, people watch all kinds of porn and also it doesn't really matter what random internwt strangers think. This question is too general. You should give more details if you want specific advice. Assuming that you've already read the sidebar and the resources that RPW share, my broadest advice is: - go to to therapy if you've got some serious emotional/mental issues that hold you back. I'm pretty sure you'll get some solid responses in the relationship, SMV, RMV department. My advice is on your career. If you don't feel like doing anything related to your degree it's ok. There are many ways to start a business, even from home. Make a list of the areas you're good at that, or that you would like to learn and eventually work at. I think that OP might speak spanish (or other language, don't know), and meant "annoying me" as "teasing me".

When it comes to crying, I've always been deeply ashamed of it, and viewed it as a sort of manipulation tactic (even when I was legitimately crying). I used to feel something similar towards crying, especially in public. I just decided to let myself go, no matter what my head told me. You gotta let yourself surrender to your feelings once in a while. When i started doing it, It was like coming out of a cage, it was liberating, and guess what.. No one cared or saw me as weak or whatever crazy tho…

I didn't go into my closet thinking "I'm going to wear this to make sally feel bad" but I think I chose that specific outfit because of her comment "he likes when I wear that" to kind of solidify my place in the hierarchy (unconsciously) So how did you even remember that he said that, without actively thinking on it? When I'm going out with my boyfriend, for example, I think on the clothes he likes and put them on. I don't understand how could you dress "uncounsciously" to other people's liking?…

No, not everyone. Me and my friends DEFINITELY NEVER do this kind of things. We only support, encourage each other, and obviously respect each other's relationships.

what are some of the characteristics or behaviors of your man that contradict the advice of TRP? My boyfriend is very masculine overall: he likes improving constantly his carreer/looks/intellect/talents, e enjoys taking the lead on work, projects, conversations, sex, and pretty much everything in his life.. But in our relationship, he shows a very vulnerable and sweet side, sometimes a bit of a nag, and he show to me that he's crazy about me all the time, doesn't feel the need to dominate me. He…

Exactly. Angry, nosy old men are also like that (my grandpa and my current landlord, for example)

They fill the system with false reports and create an environment where authorities are more likely to question genuine rape reports than support them. I think that you don't undersant the nature of sexual assault reports... I know 2 people in my family and 2 close friends who weren't believed about being sexual abused or were ignored by their own parents, because its always been a topic that no one wants to deal with. this happened to my mother. She and my sister are psychologists and they've t…

Underneath your desire to correct people, do you genuinely enjoy sharing with people, or is it your ego trying to let people know that you know your stuff and you're better than them/they're less than you? If it's the latter, drop it for your own good, it makes you enjoy people more and judge less. I'm like an encyclopedia of all kinds of stuff and used to love correcting people. But I realized that I did it mostly to prove I know about stuff and like "hey I'm smart" rather than actually helping…

Why would someone do this to their friends? Sometimes people have internal issues and just suck. I did this to a friend of mine when I was a teen. I wasn't thinking, I was drunk, selfish, and plain dumb. Teens are very likely to do dumb stuff in the process of learning about themselves, the world and the consequence of their acts. Don't try to understand what they did...it doesn't really make any sense. And please tell me this won't be commonplace for relationships in the future. It won't. You'r…

I'm sorry that you're going through this situation. I don't want to be mean, but everything you describe wrong on every level: I know I am not really my partners type. He likes attractive blonde women and I am neither of those things. How do you know that he consider some other blonde women attractive and not you? If he's told you that, it would be an incredibly rude, mean and douchey thing to say. If that's the case, he's a terrible boyfriend and you should definitely dump him. If he hasn't sai…

o either pass the time or he is addicted to porn or both I second this . If he likes you sexually and still gotta watch porn, is definitely an addict. If he doesn't like you and has to watch porn to tolerate having sex with you, by staying with him is a sure way to make your insecurities eat you from the inside. Also the fact that he only likes "attractive blonde women" (that are out of his league?) make me think that he has porn expectations. Of course I don't know any details from this, but I'…

I used to think that this sub was about uneducated women who enjoyed suffering and had low self steem (im sorry, girls) . What a surprise I got that its the complete opposite and now Im here enjoying the experience and advice of all its members.

No! Hes definitely hot sexy and handsome. But I did start feeling less attracted because of his reaction towards my rejection: he initiated less, he was less enthusiastic or tried too hard to please me. But everything went back to normal inmediatly after I changed.

This doesn't mean being a doormat either! What I want to ask you is why don't you want to? Is it really something that you CAN'T avoid (you're grieving, you're sick, you're in pain, deep exhaustion). If you don't have any of these reasons, maybe you could ask yourself, would having at least a quickie will really be that bad? Or giving a blowjob? It's actually really easy when you change your perspective. And sometimes is lazyness, which is normal. But then expect your partner to treat you with l…

It may be! The weird part is that I'm 23 and I've never been on hormonal birth control, but still had low libido out of nowhere.

Of course, I totally agree. That's why I said I'm not proud of this. I turned out fine, but some people don't. It's risky and potentially self-destructive stuff.

It's as easy to self-medicate with sex as it is to use drugs or alcohol. It's a drug, definitely. Been there.

I agree with this. I'm very liberal to tell you the truth, and Ive rode the cc. I had a couple of years of wild non committed sex, party, drugs, which I'm not proud of (nor embarassed either). I live in a very small and conservative middle-upper class society, so my people know about my past, which I've never tried to hide. And I can tell you from experience that there are good guys who don't care. I just changed and showed it to the world, and the world noticed. I'm currently in a great relatio…

Thanks for this! Very well written. The only part that I disagree on is that new ideas aren't feminine (or you could give more details of what kind of ideas youre referring to): in a constantly changing world, economy, work schedules and more, we need definitely new ideas to expand those old feminine ideas that DO work and adapt them to our current time. Also, there are ideas that non-toxic feminists (loved that you mentioned "toxic feminism" especifically, btw) have historically fought to demol…

I would be ok with it. Most girls dont care, especially if you are good in bed. Be sexy and treat women with respect.

Wait more! Two weeks is very little. If he brings her up, i'd tell him between laughs "You know I enjoy hearing about YOU, not her!" . If he doesn't stop, tell him that you're uncomfortable. If he doesn't stop, he doesn't care about you, cares more about himself and his loss or whatever, so next him. It seems to me that he isn't over her :( so don't try to put all that weight on yourself. Only time will tell!

How do I regain my self-confidence, self-respect, and value to a guy after being a fling (even just as friends)? First of all, if you want your self-respect and value back, just stop caring what he thinks of you and move on. When you're self confident, you just don't care about people who don't care about you (he doesn't). This guy isn't even your friend, why would you shouldn't put special work to change what this person thinks about you? Instead, if you want to change stuff, do it for yourself…

I feel bored and exasperated with my environment and the people I'm with daily Is it possible be that you are too critical on other people? It's normal that you don't like everyone all the time... but when you are too harsh on people (focusing on their negative aspects rather than the positive), its more likely that you dislike a lot of people! Just to listen to others and contemplate the positive things in them, can help you change your view on them and even you could learn from them. Ask yours…

It's been a few days, but I'm already planning what to do after a few weeks, because this really matters to me - and my lack of planning is one of the things that led me to neglect my relationship. And lol nooooo, I wasn't talking about a surprise party that's totally crazy, I think I didn't make myself clear. I just wanted to prepare something special, like decorating the patio, and serving some coffee and a cake or cookies, not like a dinner because that is less casual and a potential fail). I…
