I think a lot of people underestimate how much work you need to put into maintaining relationships. It seems easier for a guy to put the effort in with a woman. I have nurtured/built relationships with guys that I have known since college, met at the gym, and met thru work. And it takes effort. We call, text, grab coffee, play golf, get a beer, don’t forget each others birthdays or important events, etc…. And that’s how I have people to rely on when I need them. 99% of the time, nobody needs any…

When you are looking for a story, you will find one even if it doesn’t exist. This whole article was about her breaking patterns that only exist in her mind. Even going so far as to give an example of flying with her newborn and feeling like a rebel, when really nobody would care (unless her baby screamed the entire flight, at which point it has nothing to do with her gender)

The system worked. The courts laughed her away. As it should be.

My lawyer explained/convinced me that alimony was a temporary way to ensure that she maintained a quality of life while taking care to get herself educated and back into the workforce after being a SAHM for 13 years. She had been employed with a good job before kids, and we jointly decided it was best for her to quit and stay at home (both financially and based on our values) As such, I had 5 years of alimony. Years 1-2 were at a certain amount per month, then it went down for years 3-4, and aga…

it’s entirely possible (based on your description) that the medical car (ambulance) that rolled up quickly assessed the situation and decided that they needed help. Noticed that “several” additional firefighters showed up, because the situation required more than just the 2 in the aid car. When you drop the gender from the situation completely, it still makes sense. (I am the father of a female firefighter)

Anyone wish for the old days when we this shit was an insta-ban? The post is autistic rambling for word count, and all the OP’s comment replies are defensive as fuck.

Serious answer - because of income disparity. That’s it. And I am not talking about the whole b.s. gender pay gap bullshit, I mean the specific income disparity between the 2 people getting divorced. In most cases (like mine) where you see huge alimony, it’s because husband worked while wife was a SAHM (zero income). Alimony is so she can get back on her feet after the divorce. Does it get abused? Of course. Is it a perfect system? It’s the government, of course not. But as someone who cuts a ve…

Lonely doesn’t mean marriage...find that handful of friends that you would drop anything for, they are your core. Want to get laid? I do to! Doesn’t mean you need to get married, just date some girls and have fun. Keep your focus on your mission. Women aren’t an evil to be scared of and avoided, just don’t fall all head over heals and shit. And to be fair, my daughter is the greatest thing in my life, and wouldn’t have been possible without cunt-a-saurus Rex.

The first 2yrs I was tapping out my savings and retirement to make ends meet. The middle 2yrs I was basically holding my head barely above water, and then I changed jobs and got a decent raise out of it. AND YES, as soon as she heard that I changed jobs, she tried to renegotiate to get more $$$ but failed. My financial rebuilding years start this coming October. I turn 48 in December. Keeping the focus on the future though, don’t dwell on the past or bitch about the present.

That sucks dude, I don’t care how much it is it sucks. All I can recommend, is “find your zen” about it and just move past any kind of emotion. I treat mine just as though it were some debt that I am paying down (it is) and abstract from who or why...doesn’t matter, because at the end of the day - we will all make more money. Good luck brother, I feel for you too

I am 4yrs into 6.5yrs if Alimony. 5k for 2yrs, 4K for 2yrs, and 3k for 2 1/2 years... plus on top of that is 1300/mo of child support that ends in 2022...that’s right, I spent 2yrs giving my ex 6300/mo and am looking forward to this Oct when I get my next step down where I “only” need to give her 4300/mo. Fuck this shit.

A lot of redpill is helping men understand that women can’t tell a man how to be a man. Yet, here you are bitching because a woman won’t let you (a man) tell her how to be a woman?

The next 2 weeks are the highest risk points of your life - she can try to screw you over in more ways than you can count, so document, record, and video everything that happens. Once she’s gone....do you really want to sit around and play video games? Is that your mission in life? If that’s not your goal, or working in the direction of your goal, then why the hell do you want to waste your time like that? Video games right now are an emotional crutch to fill in the alone time and avoid actually…

It’s not whether you tell him, but HOW you tell him and what you are expecting from the conversation. Are you expecting him to take everything you say as gospel at face value and fall to his knees like you are some god? If so, he isn’t the one with the problem. If you are as RP as you say you are, then you should be able to have an honest convo with a close friend and respect that he can listen, process, and make his own calls about it without your judgement.

Had to check the comments to make sure he was getting flamed for this bullshit...which would make me feel better for not being able to tell if this was serious, or if he was doing the reverse gender bitch and moan fest... too many “alpha’s” in the comments all admitting to jerking off to their ex’s...now I’m not confused, just sort of nauseous.

Yesterday, when I got the news and posted this...fell firmly into #2 category. This morning, woke up with purpose and confidence, because I know I am valuable...a little bit of imposter syndrome/self-doubt had crept in. Thanks for the reply.

How? By using those emotions and that pain to harden your resolve into investing in every minute. For me, that’s what I do with my daughter. She is a teenager now and I have 50:50, but even when she was younger and her mom was filling her head with b.s., I decided that I was not going to be a Disneyland dad and that I WAS going to have a great relationship with her...and I do. Be the dad you want to be despite of what anyone else thinks, not because of it...and forget your bitch ex, she is someo…

Here was the key that really made a difference for me...have a trusted friend that you can check in with anytime she communicates with you, to validate your reply (unless you are 100% confident you are not being baited). Thing is, needs to be someone that isn’t going to pile onto the “she’s such a bitch” train...they need to be objective enough to help you achieve your goals (raise a good kid, be a good coparent) and call you out on your own shot when you need. Every single time I got baited int…

You don't need to talk to her about anything but the kid. This is just a simple boundary (simple to make, hard to enforce like all the rest). I had to do this with my ex for a long time, it finally worked though. Same fundamental rule as all if TRP: if it isn't a direct, relevant question about the kid - STFU. If you reply, she wins. If you react, she wins. If it is about your kid, reply about your kid. Its all a business relationship now. And when she gets butthurt about you ghosting her, fuck …

you achieve the goals you want to achieve...I quit FB/IG and never had SC or really used YT so that wasn’t a prob. Decided that I was happy where I was at and didn’t want to quit Reddit, so I didn’t.

Thing most people screw up is figuring out what #2 is... It is easy enough to think that beta bullshit "is in my best interest" because it helps achieve #1, but we all know that isn't true.

Depends on your life situation. If you are finishing your law degree at Harvard, I wouldn't recommend it. If you are sitting on the sofa, gazing out your bedroom window at the mobile home across the street, wondering if there will be food for dinner tonight or if another WWE-Dad/mom-SmackDown is gonna happen...then it might be best

Seriously not enough info... Why so indecisive, you don't even have any clues as to where you might want to go? If you like the outdoors, can't beat the PNW. If you want to go clubbing and chill during the day, south Beach. If you want to sightsee, NY or LA. If you want to kill yourself with boredom, any state that doesn't touch an ocean...
