I honestly can’t say about the insurance policy thing. I can say that he is trying his very hardest to shut off all his emotions and not have to feel anything. And that may in fact be why this is so effective on him. He’s an extremely emotional person and not very capable of controlling them.

Yeah, it’s really difficult to deal with because you feel this irrationality in their thought and you can see them discarding anything that’s contradictory to their beliefs. And all the while, they’re speaking to you so smugly, as though you couldn’t possibly understand the logical deductions they’ve made. The second you counter, the argument moves somewhere else so they don’t have to process that what they thought was a good point, actually makes no sense at all.

I get you’re point. There’s no guarantee in dating. There’s no guarantee in love. You have to take chances and you don’t get anything until you’re willing to try and make a genuine connection. My comment wasn’t made to be lovey feely and imply that as long as you do you’re going to get what you want every time. But chances are if you phrase things in your head as, “how do I as an ugly person get laid”, you’re not going to go very far. It screams a lack of confidence.

I get your response, and I half agree. I’m not sad for the loss of that person. I’m sad for the loss of who he was.

I’ll leave it up because I wish there was something equivalent for me to find when I was dealing with it.

Those are the thoughts that went through my mind, but I wouldn’t even bother because it didn’t matter. He’s not stupid. He knows them. He purposely chooses to ignore them to satisfy his bias.

Honestly, writing this was kind of my way of finding closure. I won’t ever know if he is actually going to evaluate what happened between us and see what went wrong. And I don’t get to have the final word. Which is actually much more effective, I think, in the end. But I just needed to collect my thought and rehash everything to make sure, for my self, that I wasn’t being unreasonable and irrational. I don’t erase any of my text messages, so that really helped being able to go back and re-examin…

I’m pretty sure he watches any YouTube video that has red pill, MGTOW, or MRA in the title. At this point I think he beats off to them. It was funny the first time he mentioned red pill to me, as if I hadn’t heard about it 5 years prior to that… but I’m the one burying my head in the sand.

Oh, that always made him flip his shit, when I’d point out that all the things he accuses women of, men do too. I.E, calling other men pussies, excusing male rape away as not a big deal, expecting men to be the breadwinners, to not show weakness. His blinders are quite good. And then to hear him bitch about women complaining about toxic masculinity. They don’t even know what the words they use mean. He thinks toxic masculinity is having fun with your friends, being crass, and blowing off steam. …

Yeah, I didn’t expand on that thought too much, but I would argue with him about it every time. And it was easy to see that he just ignored everything I said because I would make the same points every time, contradicting the same points he made every time. It was like a broken record. He’d hit his bullet points in the pamphlet and it didn’t matter if you explained why those didn’t make any sense. Every time I would explain that, 1, it’s just false on its face. Women invent and create things ever…

I don’t know if you’ve been over to r/qanoncasualties, but every time I’m on there I see the obvious parallels. They’re both cults and they teach you to shut off your mind to anything you don’t want to hear. I wish there was an analogous sub for red pill.

I absolutely know that he just couldn’t handle the thought of being rejected. And I know it’s also why he won’t date anyone and pretends to like being alone. He thought she was his lesser and the idea of her rejecting him was just wrong to him. His last message paraphrased, “I come to my decisions based on real world observations, not indoctrination or propaganda and I examine differing viewpoints objectively. A lot has led up to my skepticism.” These are the comments that always make me think o…

Stop thinking of yourself as ugly or belonging to any category. Try to think of yourself and the person you are interested in as an individual that has qualities and interests that are particular to them. Express genuine interest in them. It’s really not that hard. If you engage with a person and express that you enjoy spending time with them, talking to them, or being with them, they will likely reciprocate. If someone told you that they enjoyed spending time with you, you would like that, woul…

I think that it’s more likely than not that that is the case or that he believes it to be the case. Either way, his rhetoric has red pill finger prints all over it. He can’t accept the idea of a woman providing. He dismisses it out of hand literally after she says something to the opposite effect. If he thinks all women are like his ex who did nothing but take, then he should just do himself and the rest of the world a favor and stay celibate. If he wants a partner in life, which doesn’t seem li…

You’re misunderstanding what internalized means. It means to make (attitudes or behavior) part of one's nature by learning or unconscious assimilation. It doesn’t matter who all these bad actors are. The choice to let them get to you is wholly your own. And you do care what all these people think. Your entire post wouldn’t exist if you didn’t. Why do you keep bringing them up if you don’t. I never said social interactions are easy. I’m not immune from these anxieties either. But your choice to d…

You’re taking my response as an attack. It wasn’t. You’re deeply entrenched in your beliefs. There have been some incredibly insightful comments to the contrary of your post and you’ve replied saying that they reinforce your beliefs. I suggest you reread them and try to understand them better, because they very clearly should not. The two main bullet points that I’ve gotten from your responses are, women don’t have to worry about being insecure. And, if you are insecure, other men will treat you…

The thought of joining red pill because someone saw a tik tok where women said kill all men, makes me want to vomit. I would suggest that the reaction red pill had to an event that barely registers a blip on most people’s radar, should show how out of touch with reality it is. Red pill is a solution looking for a problem. They use things like this, a minuscule portion of the population, to justify their shitty opinions about women in general.

“I feel like this is such a bad message to send young boys, that they cannot be insecure.” Again, no one is saying you can’t be insecure. No, I can’t tell you what degree of insecurity is healthy or not. But I absolutely can tell you that there is a point where it is in fact, unhealthy. This is not a male/female thing. Anecdotally, my ex girlfriend was incredibly insecure. She would dwell on everything that was bad and the task of trying to make her feel good about herself was never ending. She …

No one is saying it is not ok to be insecure. It's all about degrees. To what degree is a person insecure? If your insecurity is something that needs to be brought up over and over again, of course people will not want to be around it. Yes, everyone has insecurities, but not everyone lets those things rule their lives. I understand that there are things that you cannot help being insecure about, but you can always work on it and try to keep it from interfering with your daily life and relationsh…

Say what? You haven’t even made a point yet. All you did was say men do dangerous jobs and then you made the leap that men commit suicide because of those jobs. So, first, how the fuck do you know men commit suicide because of their dangerous jobs that according to you, only men do? And second, what is the point that you’re trying to make by saying that? I’m still waiting for these “facts” of yours that are so hard to disprove.

And who is making men do these jobs? Who made them choose that line of work as opposed to say, going to college and getting a degree in business?

It’s a screening question. It’s not that hard to understand. Not everything is an attack on men. The perpetual victim complex is kind of pathetic.

I really wish red pill would start teaching men about individuality. I realize that's a ridiculous request of a cult, but it just gets so tiring hearing the same power point presentation over and over again from a different clone.

That’s not what a feminist is. That’s just the way red pill likes to frame it. Look, I wish you the best of luck. I hope you continue to let people into you lives and not let your past experience dictate how you are going to react. For what it’s worth, I’ve dealt with my fair share of rejection. That’s just a part of life and how you learn to be better. Closing off all the avenues for someone to hurt you doesn’t help you grow. Being able to deal with rejection is an attractive quality.

Man, that is a lot to unpack. And honestly, I’m not going to go over it all. I will tell you this, while you may have been around a lot of women, that doesn’t mean all women. My wife would never respond to me like your ex did. You’ve only experienced your own world and extrapolated your views on women based on that. Sure, there are plenty of shitty women out there. There are plenty shitty people in general. If you close yourself off the the rest of the world based on that, you’re never going to …

Every mgtow is just a fucking loser that's been scorned by a woman that didn't find them interesting, or attractive enough. They're the guy that says "you can't dump me because I'm dumping you". Mgtow is a self defense mechanism to keep them from getting hurt, because you can't lose if you don't play the game. Furthermore, the game is rigged against you and all the rest of you are blind. This is the person my best friend has become, and I feel terrible because he was never such a fucking loser. …

I’m not entirely sure what the point is you’re making here. A subreddit existing doesn’t prove anything. And I didn’t say it wasn’t socially acceptable. I said it’s becoming less so. Further, this is a perfect example of what I said. It doesn’t justify caustic red pill behavior. Women aren’t evil because men experience discrimination. Discrimination that is often even given from other men. Red pill ignores that behavior from men and dwells on it from women. Does it happen? Yes. Should it happen?…

I think less so, and men engage in both of those.

I think if I was going to sum up red pill, its that men have it just as bad as women, if not worse, but no one cares about men. Those are the facts they use to justify their behavior. My friend preaches them over and over again. Men are more likely to lose their children in court. Men suffer from depression, are more likely to commit suicide, more likely to die on the job... They have statistics to back up these assertions. These are true. What follows from them is total bull shit. The next step…

I’ve thought about it myself and I would never try to set him up with a woman. As much as I want him to meet someone that can show him how wrong he is I would never want a woman to be exposed to him the way he is. Which is sad because that was never even close to the case before.

That’s the advice I’ve been given by everyone. I just don’t want to throw away my friendship and it’s probably out of my hands, but I don’t want another person like that in the world. It’s kind of nice to know I’m not alone.

Yeah, I really thought I might have found his breaking point there. He said, verbatim, “I can’t disagree” which gave me a moment of hope and then went on to say “Here's what I see. 'Look at me, I'm so pretty. What can I take from you?’”.

Fuck me, I didn’t even realize he picked that up from RP. He insists his last one is an undiagnosed “sociopathic narcissist”. He won’t stop insisting that no one can understand what it was like for him. I feel like a fucking moron not realizing he didn’t come up with that on his own.
