1	Let's talk about Gender Theory I think it's the social consequence of sexual dimorphism. On some level it includes others perceptions. Something like 'being perceived as an adult male human". This captures the biological pre-requisite of being male while also accounting for all of the socialization and gender norms that both shape you and you work to shape as an agent within a culture.	/r/PurplePillDebate	17/07/25 11:46 PM
–	Let's talk about Gender Theory Right I mean whatever it is you actually think about this subject, it's not a scientific fact - its personal and philosophical in nature. That's the original point I was making. As it relates to the topic of this thread it follows then that ones gender identity is not objectively what makes someone a man or a woman, although I'm guessing this is what you believe. It's fine that you believe that, but it is not a product of scientific inquiry. The fact that biology and social forces have given one a certain idea of what ones self-perceived identity is does not mean that it is a scientific objective truth. Obviously I don't think biology alone accounts for how people think and I never denied recognizing the sex-gender distinction. It's obviously BOTH biology and an individual-culture dialectic that occurs to create gender norms and peoples identities. –	Let's talk about Gender Theory This automatic association with 'scientific progress' betrays a certain kind of illiteracy to me. We could get to a point "scientifically" where we've pinpointed a specific gene that causes people to be trans, but that still doesn't mean that they are what they say they are. That is a value judgement and has absolutely nothing to do with science.
