When the picture of constant entertainment and indulgence is presented to one it really helps to acknowledge just how indulgent and effeminate the society of today is. That's true because apparently they regard it as disingenuous so they see it as hypocrisy because they are smiling only out of politeness not because they are your friends. I personally think that it is better to look at polite smiles than at genuinely grim faces. I just wanted to clarify that it isnt due to the poor Russian dental hygiene.
