This is it. What most would consider ‘smooth’ is really just starting a conversation from an organic point, and getting to know them, rather than seeing someone hot and trying to make everything you say a straight line to date/sex

You’re not too far off actually lol. I only ask out girls after getting to know them, even if it’s like a 10 minute conversation. But also I’m friends with mostly girls so getting their number for me is just like making a friend most of the time.

I have literally never been turned down by a girl irl when I asked for her number over tinder I find it hard to keep the conversation going to the point where I ask for theirs The physical chemistry aspect matters way more to me than others I think

It’s more a mental thing. If it makes you more comfortable you can close the distance and ask her if you can kiss her. Some will say it makes the moment less “magical” or whatever when you ask for permission but if it helps you get through this mental block then do it. It’s not that big a deal
