I bought myself a pandora promise ring because I thought it was pretty, I promised myself that I would get through college and get through whatever life threw at me (at the time my nana was very sick and it wasn’t looking good and i go to college 1000+ miles away from home). I don’t wear it often anymore due to life and work mostly, I just don’t want to lose it because it means so much to me

to them a woman’s “life” starts when she gets married and has a family, which pisses me off to literally no end. They’re supportive, but from a distance. It’s so weird, i thought my family would be overjoyed that I wanted to continue my education and go on to make differences in people’s lives by being a doctor, but they really shut the entire idea down. That’s a slippery slope lol it starts with selfies then they’re asking for nudes. I usually don’t entertain that question. I’ve recently deleted my instagram and all of my dating app profiles because I was getting a lot of negative attention that I didn’t appreciate. But I agree with you, when i did have my instagram, i would just tell them to look there, i had over 100 pics so you can definitely see all my angles and pics with friends, everything. what more do you want? 🙄
