Personality meant more to me than any other qualities. Wanting nurturing and funny and not homophobic. Ended up with someone NB. It feels like I was looking for something basic. I have a man as a therapist. I had plenty of women before I got this one and he has made the difference. I am ADHD and autistic. I’m a woman. He is the best therapist I’ve ever had. And he’s ADHD. He is Jewish and agnostic. I am an atheist and that is pretty rare for a woman… we are forgetting the unique things that people can bring to the table because they are different. Women are more skilled at the social side of that job. I think people forget what each can stereotypically bring to the table and the exceptions to suit a big strong man narrative.
