Mine was a nurse, had a good job, and then just self destructed and waited for me to catch her while she collapsed. This would have been her 4th marriage. Thank God I had my "Danger Will Robinson" moment and did not fall for it. This actually happened to me twice, but we weren't very serious when the first one went into swoon mode. We broke up and she got another job until my buddy got hooked up with her. They got married and she hasn't worked since. She funnels all his $$ to her grown kids from…

About 20 years ago, I had a GF I was thinking about marrying. She was paying her share of the bills, and generally pulling her weight in the relationship. Then, one day, she said "we have to talk". If you don't pay the suggested multiple of your monthly income, then you are a bad person. Did you not get the memo from DeBeers?

Agreed. Humanities/Liberal Arts might have been good 50 or 60 years ago, but today, with few exceptions, it is a wasteland of indoctrination. It is crippling minds, not improving them.

I have a degree in computer engineering and have been in the business for 41 years. I believe that in the near future, having a degree (other than PhD) will become a detriment, especially in entry level software positions. Having a degree means you had to be spoon fed the material. Learning it on your own means you have the "knack" and you are a self starter.
