there are amazingly successful marriages, even when multiple wives are involved. A big part of the problem people have with marriage is likely that they have never seen a proper marriage. That, or their idea of success is so bestial that short term happiness is all they see. I have seen people like that, old and alone, wishing they had made better choices for themselves.

i just went back an looked to see where i was wasting words, and noticed that trend in structure. as far as syntax goes.. i can understand that. i am not a fan of english, though it is my native tongue.

getting paid for sex is the extreme limit, and legal definition of prostitution. etymologically however: https://www.etymonline.com/word/prostitute

that's an interesting interpretation. i think you are being a bit rigid with your terms though. legally, prostitution is the exchange of money for sex, but i don't think that covers the subject. the 'sugar daddy' scenario specifically comes to mind as a form of meta-prostitution. The modern term 'girlfriend' is strikingly similar to the original intent of the word prostitute. I'm not sure when marriage became a legal term, but you have to admit that it was originally a religious activity. the le…

i like how this response is giving way more credit to the scientific classification than i think the post deserves. were i to make a concise series of statements on the subject, it might look like this: Marriage is a religious institution, with a clearly defined set of rules that make it what it is. Divorce is not one of those rules, and it's introduction voids the original terms of marriage. this new system of so-called marriage and divorce is a contractual arrangement reminiscent of prostituti…

there would ideally be a psychological sort of peace and stability that comes from having a dedicated partner in life.

i don't really think it's the money grab that violates the original intentions of marriage, i think it's more to do with the subtle currencies. then, you know, children get involved...

well... i chose the science flair though. i had to deliver some pseudo-scientific sauce, just for fun at least!

a car rental business is a business. if you borrowed a car from your friend, and they started making contracts and stipulations... you would probably think it reminiscent of a business. pimps directly enforce the intimate business contract when the terms are not met. courts do the exact same thing. making your children do the dishes as a parent is not illegal child labor. doing so under a contractual obligation... so there are some pretty significant parallels to my eyes. sometimes people call i…

i definitely attempted to convey what i meant to convey, in a rather short post. calling it pseudo-intellectual and pedantic sounds like moralistic concerns. i covered most point's i made in two sentences apiece, and took 4 sentences for two concepts, restating a couple things to hopefully make my statement more clear. no words used were above a basic level of high school education that i can see.. did i do it perfectly? no. does it read cleanly? no. could i have made bullet points? yes could i …

modern marriage, yes. that was sort of the point. it's structure is that of a business contract. business contracts are, in this case, reminiscent of prostitution. the main point of this post was to mention that traditionally there was no divorce clause written into the marriage system. the introduction of divorce creates the means of taking from the relationship... children, money, stability. the desire to exploit is then further exploited by another party. call it a pimp, or a governing body, …

i mean, that's nice, and somewhat true. there are definitely full blown exploitive relationships in this world as well. perhaps i mean more to say the seeds of this pragmatism are there, in all relationships. different conditions will cause those seeds to grow i guess.

tell me more about my deep need for acceptance and validation, that i hoped to get from this post. i definitely didn't want to sound stupid. i capitalized sentences and attempted grammar and punctuation, as to make it more readable. i used some specific words and terms, in the hope of making what i was saying clear. i don't think i used outrageous words that had no reason to be used. maybe a few. i am a fan of Politics and the English Language, so i appreciate the concept of speaking simply and …

i definitely am not calling marriage prostitution. i am proposing that people are calling prostitution marriage. children have always been a part of prostitution! i'm not trying to rubber stamp all legal marriages are perpetrated in the mindset of exploitation, or that they are executed in that fashion. fundamentally though, the system has been altered to conform to a system reminiscent of prostitution, and exploitation of that system is occurring. many legal and illegal prostitution ventures pl…

The tax benefit thing is really weird. I sort of thought about the gay rights issue, and how it pertains to marriage, and thought that there should simply be a strict seperation between the religous marriage system, and the economic partnership that has become known as marriage. this would quickly solve the issues surrounding custody, partner rights in decision making, estates etc. you can definitely get married in a religious ceremony that doesn't have anything to do with legal documents AFAIK.…

i'm not meaning to speak negatively. i do believe that cold, calculating pragmatism cheapens relationships that could otherwise be more intimate, so i guess that's what i mean by relationships suffering from this contractual undertone. *i'm not trying to bash prostitution either. as you say, both parties get what they want, so...

well you know, i could have gone the minimalist route and gotten flagged for a low effort post. i think the title pretty much sums it up. i think i made some important clarifications along the way, as to my point.

well, i decided to make my post [Science] and i suppose i went with that a bit. i'm not sure exactly what you mean by servitude, or how that changes what i'm saying... i think i was pretty flexible with my definition of prostitution across the spectrum, and somewhat rigid with defining marriage. marriage is a spiritual institution with some pretty deeply rooted traditions. divorce is not one of them. my proposal is that the introduction of the divorce clause destroys the fundamental qualities th…

absolutely all romantic relationships suffer from this fundamental contamination (imo). marriage is just a formal, contractual and enforceable manifestation of this 'trope.

there is a fair bit of filler in my post, and i am not a typesetter. nevertheless i think i put the thing together passably well. i gave a sort of thesis statement, i disambiguate the terms somewhat. i give some anecdotal 'evidence' to at least allude to there being some basis for my statements to exist.

manosphere? i honestly can't source this, thus the "perhaps". i did hear something to that effect in that jordan peterson interview recently. i have heard other vague references to women dominating the arena of purchasing. i am not in marketing. i don't really care that much either way.
