An obvious and popular choice for reading would be, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho. While being more focused on becoming in tune with yourself and your surroundings, it's a great story about a boy using his instincts to follow his dreams. In the process he becomes his own man and finds himself a good woman along the way. It also shows how important it is to keep focusing on your goals even if you may be tempted to give up your dreams for the sake of "love".
