It's not doing women any favors, either. It might seem like it, because women keep getting financial and legal benefits. However, for all the beating down of men it's only making women unhappier and less fulfilled, too.

You're right; I misread his statement. I'm sure it's still a pure business decision on the part of MM, though. And yes, that highlights the need for fair media coverage for rape accusations (which should be no coverage pre-trial).

I get that you're being tongue-in-cheek, but here's a serious reply anyway. MM is a clever businessman. Certain kinds of outcry are good for his image, but others are not. Also, the bass player said he needs to gets himself sober, so this may simply be an easy way for MM to part ways with a band member who has addiction problems.
