Regardless of gender or race that right there is an unprofessional outburst of anger from a supposedly trained professional. That kind of policing is a liability to the public. The individual should have been properly restrained before moving.

We actually dont have a set number, the average is 18 years in Ireland but we also have people on life sentences well above that amount.

Should really be more along the lines of everybody should be closing the seat and lid the stop the spray of pooparticles around the John. Regardless of gender everyone that uses the throne should be closing the lid and flushing. Not washing your hands is the worst though.

I would say more along the lines of female lives as commodities and male lives as dispensible.

Yeah I see your point, I personally would have stood by the woman until I could get enough help from colleagues to safely remove her without* dislocating her arm or doing in my own back. There are logical approaches to things that most people over look.

You obviously don't understand and so should then research the psychology behind this us and them situation between the public and law enforcement.

And you're absolutely helping bridge the gap between the public and law enforcement by insulting this individual. They are advocating safe and courteous police work and you're calling them "piggy". I think you need to reevaluate your understanding of the route cause of this problem.

Agreed, some people just don't get it on both sides. I still would rather give the officer the benefit of the doubt.

I'm in Ireland and one thing that I've seen and I hate it is on the side of the public you have the people who think you need to challenge the police at every encounter. Then you have the police men and women that are unnecessarily hostile at each and every encounter. It's a vicious circle and I wish people would see we're all on the same side and police are there to help and protect us. I have the utmost respect for any member of the police that understands this and can manage somehow remains p…

Oof that can't have been pleasant. How did the situation arise? I got one in the jaw and have a click as a result, the other I just remember waking up on the ground. Got a nice bit of compensation out if the jaw one though.

It's sad that the judge even has to say that women paedophiles should treated the same as male paedophiles.

Twice as far as I can remember. And once where I got a high heel to the back of the head. Why would you take a chance of escalating the situation again by throwing a sucker punch back at them when they turn around? Than you're a shithead too.

I served in Lebanon with the UN Peacekeeping forces. Been in worse situations than you can imagine, you loose your cool and you loose a limb. Your guard should never be down when someone is aggravated. Most people on this subreddit like yourself don't understand the dynamics of the real world or human beings outside of your little bubble.

I often see small guys trying to have a go, it's that small dog mentality. It's just what some insecure idiots do when they drink.

When someone sucker punches me I will call them out and ask them to try it when they're face to face with me. If they decline that's worse in my eyes than being put down in a fair fight. I don't bring emotion or revenge into a fight with me.

Dude or chick, you don't wait until someone turns around before laying in. Square off and settle it fairly otherwise let them walk away. I hate pussies that do that.

Thanks for such an enlightening piece of literature. Someone in that position loosing their temper is a liability, regardless of whether their dealing with a male or female. These people are trained not to have an emotional reaction during stuff like this.

Depends, it's dynamic so there's various ways of restraining people in confined spaces, again lashing out in anger is not one of those methods, that's loosing control and someone on that position that does that is a liability.

He hit her once in an obvious emotional reaction, the punch was excessive and only shows that he has lost control of his temper in a volatile situation. The other problem is that anyone who is trained in moving someone volatile knows that you secure them before moving. If they are problematic in transit you reassess and resecure before moving on, this is to ensure you or your team members don't get hurt or killed. If you lash out in anger to something like the above slap, which was preventable i…

I'm not denying that in certain situations it's necessary but in the video depicted it was definitely not necessary. I do know quite a lot about deescalation as I have served in the Lebanon with the UN peacekeeping forces while being shot at and not given the authority to return fire because there were children present. My point being this man lost control and lashed out in anger, calculated response and retaliation is appropriate, loosing control of ones emotions in a volatile situation is not.

Yeah but you don't have to punch someone full force in the face when the situation is already being deescalated. Punching someone in the face and loosing control is loosing the battle in psychology. That kind of behaviour doesn't instil confidence in me, it just shows me that he's easily manipulated.

I never said she shouldn't get punished, she should be charged with assault. I did say he has a responsibility to remain professional not lash out like a child.

I think that was unnecessary what he did, he's supposed to be a professional and show restraint but now he's just like her, a child that can't control their emotions.

I'm sure she'll be an outcast to her own kind because she removed her head gear and act as if she was more western. I don't think they take kindly to that kinda thing, they seem to expect their people to go down swinging.
