| 1 | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onBut that is what I mean. What does manly even mean? This term is warped and different depending on who you ask | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/04/26 02:30 PM |
| 1 | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onDiffrenciator in biology, yes. But I am talking about behavior tied to the hormones, not the hormones themselves. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/04/26 02:29 PM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onI notice that in this thread people take it very literally when I say that we need to move on and assume I mean some kind of fully genderless society. Maybe I didn't phrase things right, but that's not what I'm saying. I just think we are way too baked in the basic ideas of what makes a man a man and what makes a woman a woman and these ideas are very outdated and harmful. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/04/26 09:59 AM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onEver heard of PCOS? Besides that, the point was not that it actually matters, since behavior linked to hormones according to scientific studies was quite minimal. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 04/04/26 09:57 AM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onI go into it a little bit in my post, but nn the biology side: testosterone turns out to have a surprisingly weak link to actual behaviour. Multiple large meta-analyses put the correlation between testosterone and aggression at around r=0.05 to 0.14 — basically a statistical whisper (Geniole et al., 2020, Hormones and Behavior). So it doesn't even matter that there is much more or less in the end. Then with the viking, sure that is the one currently found example. But vikings already appeared fa… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 09:43 PM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onIt sucks eh? You know who you are and what you want out of life, but the way thing are shaped just don't allow for that to shine through. We're fishing in a pool shaped by the same construct we're arguing against here. I don't think women, or men toward women in turn, would expect these sterotypes from the opposite gender, if the default behaviours weren't so pushed from childhood onwards | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 07:46 PM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onWhich, I think, stems from the fact that this is the normalised 'male' behaviour. Would we be taught anything else, then that other thing that was taught would be the desirable thing. It's no longer flexible and deconstructing this would take ages. But that's how I think it works. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 07:21 PM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onFor people who can look outside of the box, yes. We can recognise societal constructs and make our own choices in the matter of what suits us. But that's is on an individual level what makes you 'you'. Not what makes you masculine or feminine. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 07:17 PM |
| 1 | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onWhat exactly does that mean? I just stated that I don't think there really is a being feminine or masculine. Someone not wanting to be the man I don't wanna be then doesn't really mean anything. I am simply me, I am human so I can set myself outside of societal defaults and for me personally it's gotten me good relationships and a very long current one. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 07:16 PM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onCan't argue with Oprah. No I mean literally, I don't have her phone number. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 06:57 PM |
| – | There is no real masculinity or femininity and societies really need to move onWho built the institutions, wrote the laws, ran the militaries and designed the world to male default? Mostly men. Masculinity wasn't built by women, it was built by men in power. Sure on an individual level, you might alter yourself a bit regarding what is expected from you. But women take these inspirations for what 'makes a man' straight from the book of what men have written for other men. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 03/04/26 06:36 PM |
| 32 | Chores, we need to talk about chores. To me and my girlfriend and also what I think is the 'right' way; It's all about time management and what time is worth for the individual. If I'm away for work for 8 hours and she is home more on that day, she has more time to put into chores. If I'm home and she is away, then I put more time into chores on that day. If I work 8 hours and she works 8 hours, then it becomes subjective and is about the work we do and how draining that is. She works an intensive care job for very troubled people s… | /r/MensRights | 20/01/26 10:10 AM |
| 27 | Pleasing a man sexually as a woman is so much easier than pleasing a woman sexually as a manHow old is OP? | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/05/23 01:32 PM |
| 2 | The terms 'low value' and 'high value'By this definition, only 0,00000001% of the people in the world or so aren't high value men. I truely hope people don't actually believe that this is heavily preffered by women in dating, maybe for a very small handful delusional people; But for anyone I've met, dated and/or had a relationship with, this certainly doesn't apply. All of the women I know just want someone fun, engaging, confident, who would be there for them in times of need and who is just making the best of themselves, which is … | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/04/23 11:56 AM |
| 5 | The terms 'low value' and 'high value'Thanks for your insightful comment! I never really looked or worked by these values myself and, well, have always just been myself. Maybe I do put a bit too much pressure on being useful in society myself, but I don't combine those feelings with romance and thus am I in a loving relationship now. But I do see people who put a lot of pressure on all these values all the time in every aspect and it blocks them from being who they really are or want to be and indeed, is just a losing battle. I hope… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/04/23 11:40 AM |
| 3 | The terms 'low value' and 'high value'Thanks :') I've been a blue piller for a very long time until someone showed me the red pill world, while I was always living my 'blue pill life', so I'm aware of everything, I just have some serious doubts sometimes if things really are the way they are, or some vocal people just try to put the blame on others, rather than improving themselves. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/04/23 09:39 AM |
| 4 | The terms 'low value' and 'high value'If only most people thought like that. Not trying to live up to some kind of ideal image, but just being the best version of themselves; It always proved to work for me and I am certainly no chad or very 'manly' man, by whatever condition 'manly' means these days. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/04/23 09:19 AM |
| 3 | The terms 'low value' and 'high value'But what does qualify the attention you elicit? That is diffrent for everyone else according to what they prefer right? I know there are certainly some 'default' traits that people will always find attractive, but I always thought it was about success in life, people around you, career/degree and intelligence or something. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/04/23 09:17 AM |
| 4 | The terms 'low value' and 'high value'That makes it a bit more clear; I guess there are a lot of people who are out there in that specific crowd who came up with these terms to cope a bit better; But then again, I've always dated for fun and im in a stable, loving relationship now and never considerd myself to be someone of very high value according to what I think that means anyways and yet life with women always proved to be quite fruitful as long as I was outgoing, fun and willing to step outside of my comfort zone to make approa… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 19/04/23 09:15 AM |
| 1 | Some initiate dating, some are passive to start dating. It's intuitive to me, that initially passive women, tend to stay passive thorough a relationship, and put less than 50% effort into planning, upkeep, communication. On average.I don't really get the appeal of duty sex, maybe it's an instinctive drive to just have sex, but to me passionless sex is just so transactional and means nothing. If it's done out of lust or desire it's almost always much better and certainly also makes one feel better about themselves instead of that empty feeling you'd otherwise have afterwards, or maybe only I have that in those cases. Eitherway, I do tend to last longer during 'duty' sex, so that's a plus. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 12/04/23 10:44 AM |
