It is not strictly speaking a cuckoldry, provided this child is genetically related to OP (e.g. the child is his brother's child and he and his brother are also related). Have a look at "The Moral Animal". The author has explained how "relatives work". Cuckoldry gives one disadvantages in terms of survival probability of their genes, the situation described by OP does not.
