Depends on what they’re looking for, how they were raised, what past experiences they’re holding onto, etc. I have a very attractive friend who’s in a terrible, dishonest, and abusive relationship with a charming fck boy type, another attractive friend who is happily married with 4 kids to a pro-basketball player, another one who is married to a first generation asylum-seeking immigrant who’s truly her best friend and who works at the same workplace as her and shares all of her ideals and goals……

I used to follow FDS when I graduated college, moved to a new city across the country, got my first job, and realized dating during the “dating app revolution” was a hot fckn mess. When I was following the sub, they promoted bettering yourself by working out, taking care of yourself / your appearance, being selective with your friendships (finding quality female friends in todays world is nearly impossible I’ve discovered / am still discovering), and coming up with goals for yourself that keep y…

I wish I knew this in university - instead I felt I was doing something wrong when I’d hear through the grapevine that certain guys thought I was hot but not worth going after (because I was a prude…) and it lowered my self-esteem… For a really really long time I felt like there was something wrong with me, but now I realize something was (and is) very wrong with dating culture.

Hmm from my experience, HV guys (who i did not meet through my social circle) usually invited me on a double date with a close-friend couple before inviting me to a large group gathering. That way I already knew 3 people in the group and would not a feel like a true outsider. This is always my approach, too. Start by introducing the man to my closest friend in a casual setting and then move him into group settings. Plunging straight into a big group is strange. It’s generally not appreciated by …

How do I handle a lukewarm man? I disappear!! But I think your question is actually more about whether or not you can trust your instincts regarding the guy you’re currently seeing. And your instincts seem to be that he’s ‘lukewarm’. All I can say is that up until I met my HVM, I dated a string of lukewarm guys and none of them lasted long. Before FDS, they usually ended in unnecessary heartbreak for me. After FDS, they ended with a simple thanks but no thanks text sent by me. When I met my HVM,…

If they are married to HVM, I don’t see a problem. I like to run ideas by my boyfriend because I see him as the ying to my yang (I’m more of a right brained artist, he’s a very left brained scientist). Sometimes it’s nice to bounce decisions off of someone with a different perspective who you trust. So, idk. The issue is more a question of do they want to run it by their husbands first, or do they feel they have to. One insinuates a healthy respect and the other insinuates a codependency IMO

100%. If he really wanted to speak up in that moment he could have simply said “that’s enough”. Someone with his status has great power intrinsically. And if Rock continued to roast jada after that (I don’t think he was planning on it anyway), people would have lost respect for him. Instead, we all lost respect for Smith (rightfully so!). It’s clear Smith wasn’t thinking clearly - it wasn’t a thought out choice to respond in that violent manner - which makes it all the more problematic IMO. I ho…

They’re trying to sell us a bill of goods we have no interest in with the argument that what this woman found does not exist. Well guess what - it does exist and once you realize that it’s like you enter a secret club of HV people who do not concern themselves with LV people. THIS is why they hate, and by all means, let them!!!

I feel like the Democratic Party is just a more covert Republican Party. We don’t have a party that is actually socialist. Both parties are capitalistic, funded by powerful corporations and billionaires. The Republican Party is just more open about it. Same goes for feminism, as you explain here so well. This is why I hate politics and feel a bit hopeless about the future… It is encouraging to see so many people discussing these issues, though. If enough catch on, maybe change is possible

One of my very best friends married a coworker and he’s one of the only examples of a high value husband I’ve come across. It took a year of fostering a healthy friendship at work before he officially asked her out - I think because he wanted to make absolutely sure they had a real connection and that she felt respected / that he didn’t make her feel awkward at work if she wasn’t interested (as he works above her). I realize I may be encouraging the crush with this story…but my advice would be t…

The problem is these porn addicts have trained their brains to have disconnected orgasms. They watch other people (who aren’t present with them) and get off on it. Then you show up in one of your sexy outfits trying to arouse them and the only way they can get off is to forget you’re a real breathing person and use you like they use their computer. It’s f’ed up. If a man can’t communicate with you during sex - check in with you, read your body language, look you in the eye….run.

I relate! After following FDS religiously for about 7-8 months, I met my current boyfriend “out in the wild” (not on OLD). He approached me politely at a cafe where I was reading and we chatted for a bit before he asked me out to dinner. Now it’s been 5 months of dating (the longest I’ve been with someone for over 5 years!) and seriously, every day gets better and better. Like you, I also feel my BF is HV and yet, it’s still a relationship so there are still growth points where communication is …

I am with you 100%. I came into quite a bit of money while fairly young. I’m not yet a home owner, but for my city and age group I have a lot more going on than most people I know in regards to my living situation, car, and finances in general. The thing is, I haaaate talking about it and if you met me out and about I’m sure you’d have no idea (I’m very frugal). However, when someone comes over to my place, it becomes abundantly clear and makes me feel really self-conscious - like I’ve been “lyi…

I hear you, but this is why we vett them. If a guy isn’t mad for you, he’s probably not going to “play by your rules” just to have a chance at being with you. He’ll most likely move on and find a different placeholder who’s easier to get - and that’s exactly what we want! If a man continues to pursue you and shows strength of character throughout the vetting process, then you can infer he most likely sees you as a person of value and is way less likely to “trade you in” later on. Of course, peop…

After YEARS of not believing this, I finally started to date someone who texts me back within seconds - and now I know it’s completely true. My boyfriend has a super busy, complex job, yet he will drop everything to get back to me. I never even asked him to (after all, I was conditioned to expect hours or days between texts or even to never get a text back at all). He does it because he’s genuinely into me and wants to know what I said or need or, god forbid, if I’m in danger. The other day he t…

A guy calling other girls ugly, boring, short, a whore, or whateverrrr is my biggest red flag. If he actually means it, holy shit ima get out of there ASAP. If he doesn’t actually mean it….well, same! I’m out!

It seems like the men who think “all women are gold diggers” are the same men who can’t afford to date, period. It’s just an excuse to protect their fragile ego. I’ve never heard a successful man say anything like this at all.

Totally! I would love a surprise “because it’s Friday” gift lol. In general, if you’re sleeping with someone who treats you like their own personal porn star, GET OUT. If you’re with someone who respects you and takes time to make sure your comfortable and receiving pleasure, then getting a gift of lingerie from them takes on a completely different tone. I can’t imagine a guy like that giving his woman lingerie as a main gift for a major holiday. Just doesn’t add up… But I could be wrong/naive o…

Yeah, I agree. I mean, buying lingerie to surprise a man on his birthday seems reasonable…but the moment a man asks me to buy lingerie “just because” I’m out. And I would never accept lingerie as a birthday present, but I would accept it as a random surprise gift from my husband. I like the idea of my man being intentional about keeping things fresh and sexy, and I love how I look in lingerie - don’t we all!? So for me it’s all about context.

I’m with you! I have been doing the same and it’s hard. I’m trusting that good things really do take time and you and I and anyone else experiencing this will find their tribe eventually. We may just need to journey alone (or mostly alone) for a bit :/

I agree with this. Also, from my experience, when you wait a bit to have sex you tend to weed out the “depraved” porn-sick dudes and are left with guys who actually want to date you. And these guys actually want to make sure you have a good experience in bed with them…because they’re invested in the future. My boyfriend (who I met after following FDS principles!) waited as long as I wanted to have sex, and then when we did, he told me the first time might not be great because he wanted to go slo…

This is so true. Back in my early 20s I dated this trust fund LVM who spared no expense taking me out. Our dates were at the nicest restaurants and he’d order the nicest wine and always wore the nicest clothes… he even sent me a designer dress before one of our dates - I felt like I was in a movie… He kept this up for several weeks, but when it came time to talk about exclusivity he said “it seems like my bandwidth for a relationship isn’t conducive to what your looking for right now” …my young,…

AMEN. I wholeheartedly believe that a man who won’t take you out to dinner on a first date either A. has money problems and can’t afford to date, or B. is only interested in vetting your openness to having sex with him. I’ve now learned that asking for dinner is the easiest way to vet a man and reduce my chances of wasting time on a scrote. ITS NOT US ITS THEM, LADIES!! 🤍🤍🤍

This is such a great post!!! I agree wholeheartedly and copied/pasted that last line into my notes app as a reminder the next time some LVM pisses me off 🤍

Yes, I think that’s partially correct (especially if the date involves heavy drinking), except I think these women showed up to the date looking for a partner and most “pump-n-dump” men do not. I also think women sometimes wonder if sex will help them feel more interested in someone. Probably a hard concept for men to grasp, since from what I’ve heard from my male friends, having sex usually makes you lose interest in a woman.

Watch the Oprah interview with Devon Franklin and Meagan Good talk about why they chose celibacy until marriage - very good talking points regardless if you agree with their decision https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=cm3GB7HC7Gs

Agreed. It’s equally shameful for both parties to cheat. If a man cheats on his wife, that’s blatant disrespect and a breaking of a vow (his word). To me, that man threw away his value and integrity (and chose to) and I will be moving right along, without him. I would expect my man to do the same if he caught me in an emotional or physical affair with another man. Cheating is a matter of self-control and respect for yourself, your partner, and your relationship, PERIOD.

A lot of things…but the worst is that you can feel like you never actually “earned” the things you worked for and received. As a woman, anytime I actually get the thing I worked my ass off for, I can’t help but wonder if it’s because of my attractiveness/sexuality/a man wanting something in return. If you’re an attractive woman, things will happen that way enough times to really mess with your head…. And if you don’t keep your perceptions in check, such irrational fears can destroy your self-est…

Not to be rude, but it sounds to me like these 8/10’s who didn’t want to date you after sex probably had their sights set on more attractive/high status men and your dating profile made you out to be a higher number (1-10). Maybe after meeting you they were still giving you an honest shot, but the chemistry never came. I have a lot of beautiful girl friends (I work as a model and so do they) and this is 80-90% of their dating app experiences. That’s why I don’t use apps. The guys are never as at…

I have no tinder and no Instagram. I am a single woman in my late-20s. I am happy because I don’t have men making comments about my looks. body, or asking me perverse questions over the internet. I am happy because I wake up and get to read and write, uninterrupted, before work. I am happy because I choose to do yoga, play sports, and meditate regularly. I am happy because I have amazing friends who drink wine with me, watch movies with me, tag along to live comedy and theatre shows. I am happy …

I’ve been dealing with this non-stop lately… I’m so exhausted by all the texts, I actually turned off notifications for a few friends… Then, interestingly enough, I was working at a coffee shop about a week ago and two 20-something girls sat down at the table next to me. One was dressed very elegantly and looked incredible. The other was dressed trendy and looked sloppy in comparison. Anyway, the trendy girl sits down and says “so [Scrote] and I broke up today.” The elegant girl sits down and sa…

I used to feel guilty about guys who lacked a lot of money (recent college grads or grad students, for example) spending money on dates with me - especially when I was still deciding if I liked them…but now I stand firm in the belief that men should NEVER ask a woman on a date if they cannot afford to date correctly. If we as women allow broke men to go on dates with us, these men will lose the motivation they need to become successful, and many will flounder in their careers. For me (still in m…

LOL. WHAT A JOKE! Over the course of 5 years spent on the apps I never went out with even 1 guy remotely close to being “in my league.” I had dates with guys of all races, all backgrounds, all levels of success (from flat broke to multimillionaire)….and ALL were LVM. Did not matter if they were 6’5 with abs or 5’7 and beginning to bald - not a single one was HV. Even the ones who desperately wanted to date me failed to display any sort of value they could add to my life. Soooo glad to be off the…
