That’s a gross exaggeration. SSRIs help with a variety of conditions.

Is that because women are more likely to seek help for mental health issues? Why blame women for doing something to positively impact their well-being?

You didn’t put a value rating on calling the majority of women damaged? 🤔

Did you just imply that the majority of women are “psychologically damaged”? Because if so, that’s shitty to assert.

A lot of the complaints/points you highlighted are unfair—they’re also a product of a society that has valued and prioritized men and masculinity and benevolent sexism for as long as it has. And trust me, a majority of women aren’t paywalling people as their main source of income or even as supplementary income.

Wut. I’m newer to reddit so forgive me, but what universe is this? I live in the middle of the US and women don’t have things easier than men. We still disproportionately carry out labor in the home and emotional labor. I don’t see but a very small fraction of women in my generation who live the classic “housewife” lifestyle. We work, we deal with the same bullshit that everyday life throws at men and then some. So in what way is my logic flawed?

I’d also point out that so much of one’s experience is determined by their circumstances, including but not limited to race, age, ethnicity, ability, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation. As a white, middle-class, employed, college-educated, mid-20s woman, I think I have a good life. I don’t always feel that it is “easy” though.

Again, let’s put this in perspective— are men living on “easy mode”? No? Ok then it is fair to assume that women aren’t living on easy mode. Again, the way gender dynamics are dissected on Reddit astounds me because it’s like no one has met or gotten to know anyone of the opposite gender when I know that cannot be true. As a woman, I’ve experienced harassment, heartbreak, fear alongside accomplishment, joy, and empowerment. So ask yourself “do I live on easy mode?” And if the answer is “not alwa…

I’m sad that you haven’t been able to witness modern relationships that work. My husband and I both came in with car loans, student debt. We got a game plan on how to address these. Both of us were paying on them consistently prior to marriage or knowing each other. We have been working together to manage finances and are very happy with this. We both contribute and both have a voice in financial decisions. I don’t believe that modern relationships are pointless or a joke. You have to be someone…

Yes— there are usually benefits for men marrying. They carry less burden for emotional labor in the relationship and still reap the social benefits of marriage.

Women are people. Men are people. Why does it matter how many people anyone has slept with? This is so confusing to me.

I mean if the demand is there, why not? Men capitalize off our bodies to sell products, movie tickets, anything basically, why shouldn’t women make money that way too?

Gender is different than biological sex. It’s also a spectrum. So...no.

This question is sort of strange to me. We don’t ask “should people with cancer take a break from their relationships/marriages”... mental health isn’t all that different.

“Dad bod” is becoming a more preferred trend in America. I think we should all be accepting of people’s body sizes. Our society fucks us up about our “ability” to control our body size—we have very little control over what it is going to look like on any given day.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
