Are you being purposely deceitful? There are lots of good arguments to be made against society and its treatment of men, but I feel like you're leaving out information. Amber alerts are only when a child is abducted, and there's reason to believe they will be harmed. The dad likely had some type of history of violence or had threatened them before. I don't know the story, but it's not like the guy kept the guy an hour over his visiting time and the mom pulled an amber alert trigger.

You could work for a hedge fund. If you graduate from the Wharton school of business you will be turnin down job offers of 100k+ at the age of 21. What makes them valuable to a firm is their marketability. Everyone wants an Ivy League student handling their money. No one wants to give a shit load of money to someone who graduated a state school. I'm not saying their logic is sound, but that's why it's possible (although this guy is an idiot so I doubt he is telling the truth).

The good thing about books is that they're personal to the reader. The bad thing is that they're personal to the reader. With t.v./movies you can more easily discuss these in a social environment.
