-4	Newly hired Boston University professor tweets “White masculinity isn’t a problem for America’s colleges, white masculinity is THE problem for America’s colleges.” A remark can't be racist unless it's backed up by a system of a oppression. When white people say things like "black people aren't as smart" it actually is racist because that mentality is ingrained in our public school systems. Teachers are raised in a society that teaches them to "expect less" of PoC but mainly black people. Racism is a system of oppression much like that in the job market which opts to give work applicants with "white sounding" names an advantage over applicants w "black sounding" names. That's not exactly how this works. In the US as a white person you can't experience true racism the way PoC can. You may be experience racial prejudice but that is not the same as racism.
