Because they didn't look at the other side of putting the title in. They made assumptions that the same number of girls want to play sports as boys so the only reason girls aren't playing as much is because of sexism. In some cases they were right. In other cases girls just had no interest in playing sports. The theory that title IX would open up more chances for girls to play was correct. I don't hate the football team even though I'm coming across as I do. I hate the lay out. If there was a girl sport that had such a large roster that was always full things would be fine. I'm a track coach at a jr college and my head coach will never talk about recruiting guy athletes because we are one of the sports that stacks girls to balance out football. Most sports have guy/girl or small rosters. Football has 50 guys requiring 50 girls. I'm a throws coach and there aren't many girls who want to throw.
