I've read his 12 rules book. The main theme of his advice is to focus on the things that you can change and accept what you cannot. It seems like a self evident idea but I dislike how all his tips such individual self focused stuff. The side affect of most of his advice is to focus on the self instead of organizing with others. I've been there a few times, starting about 10-15 years ago. Breakups are painful on the receiving end especially when they come as a surprise.
