Your statement may be technically true in that some states do not jail people for "failure to pay child support" but every single state jails people for "contempt of court" when they fail to pay child support. However, looking at the data shows that daycare and childcare provider abuse is around .5%. The vast majority of laws are designed to imprison and punish poor people. The disparity between the crack and cocaine laws being just a simple example. However, almost all of our laws are designed to imprison and punish men in particular. If we held the spreading of gossip, rumors, and heresay as illegal, somewhere on the level of rape, this kind of bullshit would seriously be reduced in frequency. False accusations, rumors, and gossip can ruin lives as much, if not more so, than rape.

Very much agreed. The system is a bigger monster than anyone or even any gender will be exempt from. When I speak to people who are supportive of the family court system in America, I like to point out how they are not immune from it's clutches. Even the mothers who are collecting vast amounts of child support now are soon going to be sitting in court crying because their son is being locked up for not paying child support in the future.
