There’s a strong element of truth here. Our experiences shape our attitudes. If everyone is fawning over you, it becomes easy to become an asshole. You’re basically describing fuckboys. They sleep around, don’t care about anyone’s emotions but their own due to narcissistic learned personality traits, and focus on getting fit and dressing well as easy weapons to aid in their ultimate goal. They also come off as a challenge to women who want to take their wild ways and show them “the light”. It’s …

Or, hear me out, it’s not all about sex.

I think the problem is that it might be one or the other when the majority of women are working. The economy adjusts and makes it nearly impossible to choose SAHM without being wealthy. Feminism seems to be remove one of the choices along with the benefits. Not sure there is a solution.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/09/24 01:06 PM

Has feminism proven that all women don’t want that? My wife had a high paying, high stress job, and took time off after our first kid was born. We’re three deep now and she is really loving the SAHM life for the time being. She’s kept up any certifications she needs to get back to work, but she’s in no rush and dreading the thought 4 years later. It would be nice to have a second income source in the house, but she can try to find something part time / remote instead of going all in an again. He…

Maybe it’s the prison population being mostly men and women getting off for the same crimes? Maybe it’s the media push to treat all men as predators? How about the fact that men are being ignored to advance women while they’re already getting into colleges at higher rates? Happily married, not angry, just disappointed in what the modern woman is being groomed into by society.

Telling people they’re wrong for how they feel and having society gang up on them because it’s swept under the rug as insecurity is necessary to fight off if you ask me.

They’re not, they just less likely to be on the receiving end of bad outcomes. They can generally overpower a woman and are less likely to get diseases due to anatomy or be left as a single parent. It is a lack of self-control on both counts, society just gives men a pass. I’m not advocating for men to do likewise.

You know basically nothing about a person you’ve met for only a few hours. It’s not the smartest move to invite them over or go to their place right off bat. You don’t know if they have STDs, are a sexual predator, a stalker, or worse. If your need for sexual release comes before basic safety, it’s likely a sign of self-control issues. Sex is great, it’s not great enough to justify the risk in the eyes of many.

If the emotions are caused by our parents’ personalities linked genetically. Similar to how we’ve bred animals for tame domesticated behavior, then the emotions are biological rooted.

100 men and 100 women begin society. 20 men care about n-count, 80 don’t. 40 women are promiscuous and 60 aren’t. Let’s assume 50% procreation success with 2 children each. Also going to use the study and put a 25% chance of children not being biologically theirs for the men who don’t care. Next gen care: 20 secure offspring Next gen don’t: 80 offspring, 20 without paternity. Round 2: 20 secure, 80 and ~30 without paternity Rinse and repeat and you don’t know who your father is or where you real…

And then I noted the Y chromosomes identified in the female bloodstream which shows a possible link. There’s a reason we experiment on mice, we all evolved from a common ancestor.

It took all of 15 minutes. Telling people they’re trying too hard comes across as shaming people for sharing their thoughts.

Agreed on both counts. The pendulum swings both ways. As for fruit flies, it’s just point to the possibility that there is more to this than we have the science to explain. Epigenetics can be seen all throughout the animal kingdom with numerous identified possible mechanisms.

More power to you. No one is telling you how to live your life. We’re just sitting here discussing why certain people feel the way they do.

Probably, but then people wouldn’t be against it in general. It’s not just a coincidence it has been seen as a character flaw throughout history. It rises up out of nowhere as if it’s an encoded in our DNA. I highly doubt it’s a coincidence.

Sexual promiscuity isn’t something you can tell from a glance or even a series of dates usually.

Why not? Getting laid isn’t related to whether your relationship is satisfying. There are men on the opposite spectrum that sleep around then choose a less experienced woman to wife up. I’m not supporting this behavior, just showing a point.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/08/24 06:50 PM

You’re making this about not being able to get laid, which implies there’s something wrong with the men leading to their preferences. In this case, not being able to get laid.

I’ll post this here for reference. A person who has had more casual sex is statistically more likely to continue seeking out that behavior after “settling” down. There are exceptions, but this only makes logical sense. People don’t easily change over time. Their choices ARE them, even if in the past. Divorce rate and n-count have been correlated in numerous studies (the validly of which I have not verified). Studies have found the link applies to both sexes equally. Creative people have active i…

Your responses devolve into saying the study is first non-existent and has no citations, then you claim it's non-sensical and unsupported. I only claimed the possibility of non-genetic trait transfers, which you've done nothing to truly refute. Somehow you're omniscient and know that it's 100% without even reading a paper. You're not giving me much to respond to. Is that considered boring?

There is a PDF on the study. That article was an opinion piece on that study. Your failure to utilize search is a convenient way for you to discredit items you disagree with. Search harder.

https://www.unsw.edu.au/news/2014/10/flies-give-another-twist-in-the-evolving-story-of-heredity It was the first and second Google result if you search flies and epigenetics. There is nothing definite as it relates to humans. We just don't know. Society learned about DNA, now everyone accepts it as the only form of hereditary transfer. We base important aspects of our lives off of it in many ways. The epigentics wiki is a rabbit hole if you're interested in more. Epigentic trait transfer has bee…

How do you know that heart disease really is from your family? Maybe the predisposition to cancer wasn’t direct. We’re much more complicated organisms than flies obviously. Recessive genes were ruled out for the study, and it might be a product of environment. I never claimed it as accept scientific fact, but it is a valid study that points to the possibility.

Audacity? Really? You’re the one making a big deal out of nothing because you can’t compartmentalize this discussion between personal/intelligence attacks and the topic at hand. Reference how I pointed out the error vs how you did. Notice the difference? Habits can be broken, but not by everyone. The argument still stands as far as I can tell. You do you, I’ll do me. No harm has come for this discussion/disagreement.

It’s a personal bias developed through my own experiences if I’m being honest. I’ve dated women with a colorful past, and early on in the dating phase they were less than pleased about my cautious approach to intimacy. It gave me the impression that sex was the first thing on their mind, personality second. It didn’t line up with how I’m wired and probably got me to my point of view today. Probably just bad luck and 20s hormones, but left a bad taste in my mouth. It felt dehumanizing to be viewe…

Not particularly. It’s more of an on/off switch for me. I have to make a conscious decision to have sex before my body perks up. So the urge is always simmering, but the key to the flood gates is in my pocket. Every one night stand I’ve attempted turned into a standstill in the bed. I thought I liked the idea, but internally it just wasn’t for me. It wasn’t nerves, my subconscious just didn’t think it felt right. No issues in a monogamous relationship at all. Going strong multiple times per week…

I’ll stop answering numbered items, since you don’t take responsibility for an unimportant filing error (my post was edited for a typo not ordering) which somehow turned into an accusation. You seem hung up on penises for some reason, and assume I am as a projection. This isn’t about insecurity or human ego as you claim, though they can certainly play a part. People are nuanced, so multiple variables play a role. I’m a decent poker player, but we haven’t gone to the casino or had poker night in …

I was wondering if you would bring this up without understanding that a statistical study has no fixed population. 30 of 200 women cheat and 20 of 100 men cheat. Which one is 50% larger than the other again? Take a 400 level statistics course and chime in when you've passed. Then you'll confidently be able to determine the quality of comments based on their use of percentages. 2. One could argue that a lioness, through the forced mating structure is promiscuous by definition. Humans have evolved…

Your stats are off by 43%. The most recent data suggests a 7% difference with men leading the charge. I don’t know how this argument relates to n-count. Just be more careful as a woman while still keeping an eye out? I sense an attacking tone I’ll ignore. Fair, it’s just an example. And we’re all creative and intelligent in case you haven’t heard. You’re assuming human brain development and instincts don’t intersect. The human developed on top of the basic instincts, not despite them. They still…

There are exceptions, but this only makes logical sense. People don’t easily change over time. Their choices ARE them, even if in the past. Divorce rate and n-count have been correlated in numerous studies (the validly of which I have not verified). 2. Creative people have active imaginations and OCD is common in intelligent people. You’re giving yourself too much credit. I was talking about the comment thread, not you specifically. I was going to write a lengthier response before you went into your diatribe attempting to guess my personality and opinion instead of focusing on the issue.

Evolution would say that you’re more likely to end up with offspring which is intelligent, stable, and good-looking, as opposed to just good looking. It definitely sounds like a natural variation.
