Oh I got banned from there. So fauxing ridiculous 😂 banned for "meta conversation about the sub" for saying essentially a lot of the members here seem to say a lot of sexist things.

In canada something as simple as swearing at someone or as serious as murder at work is all considered workplace violence. This is on the Canadian version of OSHAs website (CCOSH): Most people think of violence as a physical assault. However, workplace violence and harassment is a much broader problem. It is any act in which a person is abused, threatened, intimidated, or assaulted in his or her employment. Spreading rumours, swearing, verbal abuse, harassment, pranks, arguments, property damage…

The core of his motivation was sadly quite typical--he had a lot of female loved ones and overall he was worried that a hypothetical future daughter would read comments like this and think that "She is the problem". It's crazy to me that feminism can produce people who believe this but when men bring up the fact that feminists shit on men all over the place and that has demonstrably resulted in actual non-hypothetical boys thinking they're the problem despite being too young to have even contrib…

Well considering they were talking about "Russians fleeing the draft" then they're specifically talking about men. My guess is it's gendered because more men are trying to leave than women since men are drafted and women aren't but that's just a guess.

Nah that's probably not most cases. Yes it happens and far more than it should but Think of how many women get abortions because they're not ready to be a mom...well, guys don't have that option when they're not ready to be a dad so instead they do things like not sticking around to raise the kid and dodging child support.

Feminist dating advice just assumes there are people into you unless there's something wrong with you. It ignores so much of what is dating as a man, likely stemming from a lack of empathy and an attempt to map their own dating experiences (the woman is good and so people are interested in them, the men are just bad so the woman has bad dating experiences) onto mens which includes a shit ton of work to ever even get to the point of taking any of their advice in the first place, as they give advi…

Well need is kind of a strong word here. My last car had a huge subwoofer box in the trunk that took up all the space for my spare tire. Car got totaled a few years ago but I drove without a spare for probably 4 years without ever needing one. Yes it's smart to have one on hand just in case but how often do you really pop a tire?

There's a difference between something that's needed & something that's wanted & one partner demanding the other lives to their standards rather than the individuals own doesn't sit right with me. You want to know what's funny? Women completely understand this scenario when the shoes on the other foot. Let's say you and your partner are looking for a new apartment. You decide you "need", aka want, to have an extra room for a man cave. Its something that benefits you because it makes you feel bet…

Yea it's also highly variable based on the job. I'm a sahd right now and my wife is the sole income but she works from home and maybe gets like 3 hours of true "I'm focused and getting shit done" work in throughout the day and still gets "exceptional" on her quarterly progress meetings with her boss. I'm more afraid of her being fired than she is because I've never worked a job where they wouldn't be able to tell I was only working 15 of the 40 hours expected a week. Apparently her boss either c…

You notice there’s never any “real women do xyz” discussion? The only time this comes up is when a woman is trying to do damage control when a man talks about how a woman harmed him. Its "well a real woman wouldn't [cheat or make false accusations or whatever it is] just find a good one there's tons out there". That's the only time I ever hear anything about what a real woman does which of course is actually what they don't do and it's just things that nobody should do. Nothing like the standard…

Ai imo, is best used as kind of a brainstorming on learning what you need to learn about something. So if you're going into something totally new you ask what subtopics to research about it and then it will give you a shit ton of subtopics that you can go use to do traditional research. In the process of doing that research you will find new subtopics just by reading to understand the ones suggested by ai. Its usually pretty good on broad topics but when it gets to the details it often gets more…

the belief that mean are a privileged or atleast an “oppressor class” doesn’t have to come with scorn or dismissal to men’s issues Are you sure? Where is your evidence that this is possible? I've yet to ever see an analogous situation play out like this, where you simultaneously demonize and care about a group of people. Just because you can say it doesn't have to come with the baggage doesn't mean the baggage won't come along anyway. It seems to me that it's baked into the worldview from the ou…

Women face absolutely zero systemic issue that deserve to be adressed. Thats pretty radical imo.

Look mate, I think you have been radicalized a tad. Women face issues too, we have to admit that, and they advocate for themselves. Of course, we should advocate for ourselves too, so our issues, which are no less than what women face, can be taken seriously and solved as well This right here is why I like this sub. This kind of pushback and attempt towards perspective reassessment away from the more radical takes that pop up is something that I wish I would see even just a little bit within the…

It was wild to read through all her responses 🤣 it's like this woman expects the bio dad to be psychic and know he has a kid and then keep it to himself, going, "MUAHAHAHA LET THAT FAKE DAD PAY!" Well, actually, now that I think about it...that kinda tracks. So many women out there expect men to read their minds and get mad when they can't. I guess she's just applying that logic here, lmao.

I'm just curious, but where are you getting your respondent sample from? I noticed the "intactivist" portion at the bottom, and I typically question the potential biases from studies conducted by those who have something to gain from finding biased data, which activists typically do. Examples of this would be like FAIRs on illegal immigration cost research or the AAUW on feminist research or the IFS on marriage/relationships. Often other researchers with less bias or the opposite bias will come …

If you watch the video made by ibz on it, there was a male who was allowed in. I dont know if they're trans or if they just said they were to get on the app, but thats a little loophole if you ask me. Not that I'd ever submit my info to an app that just got hacked, but if anyone is so inclined, then there's your in.

These are healthy relationships in my eyes Let's not get too far ahead of ourselves lmao. It was a healthy division of labor to be sure. The interpersonal relationship itself less healthy, but thats something my wife and I are trying to correct in our parenting. if your mother and father’s roles were reversed. It's really not that bad. You just have to boil it and let it cool. It's got a bit of a taste to it, but nothing worse than the chlorinated tasting bubbler water like you get at an amusement park or something. It's just different. They would have to know how to make a fire they could boil it over, though, so if I learned anything from watching Man vs. Woman: The Island with Bear Grylls, they're gonna have a real hard time with that.

Yea, I agree with a lot of this. I grew up in a household where gender roles didn't fall neatly into trad buckets of mom=feminine and dad=masculine. My mom was the breadwinner, she made 3x what my dad did, and the disciplinarian, but she worked fewer hours, so she was able to spend more time with my brother and I. My dad did almost all of the cooking and baking in the house, but he also did all of the car repairs and home repairs/remodels. My mom handled all of the finances, but she did all the …

As with everything else, we live in a capitalistic society and when theres something to be bought and sold there will always be someone willing to connect buyers and sellers for profit. There definitely are independent prostitutes, and onlyfans, while hosted on a website by someone else is still relatively independent. Strippers obviously kind of need a venue so thats kind of hard to do independently and porn kind of needs a method of distribution.

Yea, I dont think this is as wrong as people are saying. Its like many on the right wanting a woman who is chaste to be their wife and shed better be modest, while many on the left are saying that being promiscuous or having an only fans or even being a straight up prostitute is empowering for women and something to be proud of. Many on the right, in this case, do want women "as private property" in that she is theirs through marriage, and they dont want others seeing what they have, so they wan…

👍 glad to hear it! And yea it is really awesome. Its a difficult life to be fair. I didnt really understand just how much work kids were but its by far the most rewarding work I've ever done. My wife works from home too so she's able to be a lot more present than most people in the sole provider role like she will take breaks and sit with us for meals and stuff like that. I will say that I did end up with having to do most of both the traditional female and male tasks around the house. Like a lo…

Might wanna swap "until" with "unless" here, lol. Using until assumes she is going to do the work to make it happen. Using unless assumes the far more likely scenario that she never will.

Just ask them, man. Seriously. Don't miss out on the chance to connect with your cousins kids when they're little like that. Saying something like, "Do you think I could hold him/her for a little bit?" is very unlikely to make them think you're creepy and much more likely to make them happy that you want to be involved (and happy to free up their hands for a few minutes, every minute of freedom counts when theyre infants/newborns lol). I dont know your cousins, but I had to ask to hold my cousin…

In some cases, that is true, but here it's more in line with what the definition is supposed to be. Incel here is pointing to a man recognizing and/or complaining about the difficulties that come with having to navigate the dating landscape as a man. Womens role in early dating is very passive the vast majority of the time and they dont seem willing to recognize that almost the entire burden of figuring out the social dynamics that lead to both people going on a date rests with the man. Men have…

Yes but even if they didnt call it sexual assault for instance a 50 year old woman knows whether she had sex with someone 5+ years younger than them who was also under 16 years old, just the same as a 30 year old woman. They arent being asked did you secually assault someone, theyre being asked the specific behavior in a manner that is much less ambiguous, and yet millenial women in this study are 3.7x more likely to report that they did this than Boomer/GenX women were. This does also line up w…

So thats not really how this works. Millennial men and women and boomer/genx men and women were asked if they ever exhibited a behavior such as "taking your clothes off to arouse your partner after they have already refused your advances" and then everyone says if they did it or not and they tally up the results. Society recognizing domestic violence is bad and women can be the perpetrators is the reason that the study exists, totally on board with that, but I dont see how this would account for…

Feel free to read my response to their comment. I think they read in more inference than there actually was and I was pretty thorough in my reply. As for the strong claims, I would agree that this study on its own does not make enough evidence for said claims. Even with the previous study that this one was replicating, it's not quite definitive. Once you start digging into the references and references of references, however, that small mound of data becomes hard to ignore in my opinion.

Increases in female-reported coercion don’t automatically mean “women are worse now.” Social trends are complex. Rising numbers can reflect shifts in behavior, but they can also reflect increased willingness to report, changing social norms, and expanded definitions of what counts as coercion. None of that excuses harmful behavior, but it does mean we should interpret the data carefully instead of jumping to conclusions. I dont buy that women are now just vastly more likely to report than they a…

Thas response is broken into 2 comments so I replied to myself for the second half. This post attempts to raise a meaningful critique, but it does so by misrepresenting feminism and relying on claims that are too sweeping to be useful. I dont feel as though this is actually a mischaracterization of feminism, the ideology, in its current state nor do I feel that I used claims that arent supported by the data. Yes, the data is concerning. If these trends are correct, then there should be more open…

Ok and? Clearly Im not speaking about gender. Male and female refers to sex and unless youre trying to claim that the increase is coming from gender non-conforming individuals which then would imply they have significant rates of sexual violence, then Im not sure where youre going with this.

Do you think feminist messaging about asking for explicit verbal consent has made an impact on how many men do so? When I was growing up, explicit verbal consent was a mostly foreign concept. Maybe some guys did it but most guys would "read body language" because they felt that asking explicitly ruined the mood and a lot of women did too, and now roughly 85% of high school men report asking for explicit verbal consent. It is a small logic leap, but I can't see how this would not reduce the rate …

The truth is, men commit more sexual violence simply because men are generally larger and stronger than women. Yet women still commit plenty themselves. I dont believe this to be true anymore. Im well aware it was in the past but if that were the case then we wouldnt be seeing results like this study where the rate of the use of physical force post refusal is 2.5x higher in women than men and pressured or forced sexual outcomes are 1.7-1.9x higher, depending on if there was or wasnt intercourse …

Just save it for the women who get all bent out of shape over paternity tests, lol. "If taking the test concerns you, then you are one of the cheaters that paternity tests are made to save men from" and "if you were one of the good wives you wouldnt have anything to worry about". Its always hypocrisy.

Well, you can predict with very high certainty which types to avoid to drastically reduce your chances of being with an abuser. Did you know that 80%+ of the cases of domestic abuse involved the abuser also abusing drugs or alcohol? Do women at large avoid men who abuse drugs or alcohol? Well, no, not really. A lot of those guys are seen as fun and exciting because they're out partying and getting drunk. If women collectively decided not to entertain any men who have a substance abuse issue, the…

My favorite way to twist the man vs. bear questions is: if you replaced every man on the planet with a bear, would society be overall safer for women or less safe? The answer is obvious, and if they try to claim otherwise, they're simply too lost in the sauce to keep talking with.

This is what blows my mind. Ive never been in a relationship where the woman didnt spend a significantly outsized amount of time venting their problems (often the same or very similar problems over and over) with the expectation that I was to do NO fixing, they wanted to vent and nothing else. I couldn't even begin to count the hours I have spent in my life sitting there and listening for sometimes hours on end. They've almost never been asking for any of my input other than one phrase answers l…

My mom never did because she just went to my dad but every partner Ive had used me for support but then would also "disappear" for hours (on the phone sometimes for hours so here but not here kinda) going over the same issue a bunch of times with a bunch of different friends and family and then they often have to go back over that new info with me now that theyve talked through things. So while they do spread the "emotional labor" around to multiple people, they're still always expecting me to b…

As a man, this has never been the case for me. For me its always ended up as I have nobody to vent to because when my partner is done venting to me she would go and vent to her family and friends and by the time she's done doing the same venting over and over to different people theres not really any time for me to vent. This has been true in 8/8 of my relationships, and so I've just accepted that that's how it is, but it does suck to not have the emotional support that I give be returned.

They are they just usually aren't doing the violence themselves. There's plenty of instances of things like a woman standing by a broken down car flagging down a man to ask for help, but its actually a setup and theres guys ready steal his car or even force him at gunpoint to go withdraw as much as they can from an atm or whatever. Of course feminists would call this male on male violence and leave out any female involvement. This is not even to mention places like Columbia where some women will…
