Edited comment above. I thought it was ridiculous. This wasn't the first time I've heard this author talk about her book. I basically sat in the car talking to myself correcting her stupidity.

But where it is owned by private entity, no it isn't. And honestly, you couldn't find a better parallel? Equating with Hitler is a dangerously fine line. This sub gets enough grief, don't make it worse. There are plenty of other examples you could have made.

I kind of find it hard you've been told you're negative for HIV this soon. That's not how medical professionals usually test for it. Normally you go for 3 rounds of testing and then you get a full negative.. One recommended strategy is to get tested 2-4 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months after a risky exposure. Using a senstitive antigen/antibody HIV test, of those who are infected, most will test positive at 1 month; almost all will test positive at 3 months; and the rest will test positive at 6 mon…

I actually thought this was satire initially. That's how crazy it was. However, I did notice in the comments there was someone pointing out violence and hatred toward women in Islam. The author happily ignored it. And even went as far to suggest that it isn't as bad in the Muslim majority countries and it happens "everywhere, constantly". Well, Ms. Meghan, I would love to see how she felt after actually spending a day in Saudi Arabia. Then maybe her little cozy, non-misogynistic Canadian world w…

Yeah I've noticed a shift in this sub. It is mainly used for posting articles and other things, whereas before there was a time when I almost unsubbed because it started getting to be too much. I agree fighting fire with fire doesn't work, especially considering logic and reason aren't involved. You can't fight illogical and unreasonable people. But you can help with the convincing of people on the sidelines who wish for a more egalitarian society. But I would say the two subs have very differen…

Ah, sorry didn't realize you were OP. Well, as I said, whether it is actually successful pua stuff or not, I don't know. I just know that is just one of their bullet points. I don't really think it's good pua, but that's my opinion. I'm sorry you weren't treated well here while expressing dislike with TRP. I've seen quite a few people treated just the opposite and told to go to the TRP or take that level of view elsewhere. As a female, I have posted here many times. I've never been disrespected …

TRPs ways of doing shit isn't my cup of tea. I don't agree with their points 99% of the time. OP asked the difference between the two. I explained the difference. I mean, isn't that what they claim as one of their reasons for the sub?

TRP focuses on pua stuff. Men's rights doesn't. Not like they do. I find a huge difference in TRP vs MR, personally. Compare the front pages, I think you'll see what I mean.

I agree. I wasn't commenting on the post, just replying to the parent comment about sleeveless shirts. Before my current job I worked in the restaurant business. I agree men should be able to have long hair as long as they properly tie it back or wear a hat. I mean, I have really long hair as a female, and if I can do it, so should you. There's still quite a stigma against men with long hair. I find it really annoying. A perfect example is my boyfriend. I love his hair longer. It looks nice shor…

In the restaurant and serving business that is a must. I don't want someones open armpits over or even near my food or drinks. In our culinary classes, that went for everyone. It is unhygienic and really gross, when you think about it.

Honestly, in some ways it can be beneficial. I can have him on my insurance which is great, because that allows him to have a really good plan that is contributed to by my employer and saves us money. There are some other benefits like tax breaks, which we don't take advantage of, but probably could if we tried. I just never cared to look into it. But if you have a shitty girlfriend for a long time, and finally break up, it really can suck, as the courts will treat it like a marriage. Sometimes,…

If they were together for awhile, some states honor common law. Like at this point, if my boyfriend and I broke up and we ended up in court over property, we would be told to split it down the middle like a marriage without a pre-nup.

No they are very valid questions. Because you don't want to answer them, it doesn't make them any less valid. The answer is: breast cancer is the most common diagnosed cancer in women. In all women, sluts and non-sluts alike. You have a chance in being correct that her cancer was caused by her either having affairs, or abortions (this one probably isn't likely), or IVF. But we don't know, we just don't know how she got it. We cannot say how she got it, because we don't know. (If you can't tell, …

Not always. Many christians turn the other cheek in cases of infedility in a marriage. I know my best friends mum, as she was like my own, never cursed her husband. Never for me to hear, at least. Inwardly, I'm sure of it. But, I spent the last 6 months with her, day in and day out without her saying a word. So it's possible, is what I'm saying, that she may just want to live out her days in peace, with her family. Is anyone to blame? We don't know. Is it just life's shit? We don't know. You're …

Yeah, I said we agree on HPV being the majority of the reason behind getting cervical cancer. You didn't answer my other questions. Those were the ones I was requesting an answer to. Oh and I meant linking a study showing that "christians are major sluts", therefore, cancer.

But see, that's where you're seeing through one filter. I'm happy to read through a study proving your hypothesis. Please link one if you can. I'm an atheist, so don't think I'm sitting here on a religious side. My assumption is this: most cervical cancer is from HPV, right? Ok, we agree here. Do we know that is the most common cancer among christian women? Or women in general? I don't know know the answer to either of those questions. Yes, it is. Especially in the age of promiscuity. I know enough about it considering my best friends mother died of it when she was only 48. She was a Catholic woman, who was faithful to her husband to her dying day. But, her husband wasn't faithful. HPV was the reason she got it and the reason she died. I'll retract genetics, I was incorrect. As of now, it is not certain if it is hereditary so I will not claim it to be as such. I'm saying this: don't be so blinded you forget the other side. But…

Look, cervical cancer isn't always brought on by HPV, abortion, or promiscuity. Without any other background knowledge, it's pretty awful to assume how she got it. Sometimes, people just get cancer, and it sucks, and they die. Sometimes, when it's terminal, they stop treatment because they don't want to spend the precious remaining time with family and loved ones inundated with pain. I find this post isn't a RP example at all. In fact, it's like you're just trying to find some random link to mak…

We definitely hold the cards when it comes to turning the tides. You are totally right when you speak about women and men relationships. Feminism is killing them. The issue is that when females speak out, we get the response your girlfriend gets. That we are victims of the non-existent patriarchy (in the west, at least). Or that we just don't understand. Which is absolutely degrading when someone says that. We aren't the ones lacking in intelligence. But they only see through these blinders and …

It is. It doesn't even make sense anymore. Demand fair treatment, then receive fair treatment. Now that has come to pass, it's demand special treatment but don't you fucking dare call it that. The most I can do is speak out against it in a situation where it's received well. Otherwise, I'm inviting an outlandish argument that contains no logic, and is therefore useless. I'm female and cannot stand feminists. I mostly ignore them if I run into them in public. I work with one, I just nod and smile when she says her insane shit. It's not worth getting into it the majority of the time. I find using logic against someone who is illogical is frustrating and normally a waste of time. If I think I can actually get the person to see the insanity, I'll have a discussion that is open and non-confrontational. I used to try to engage with the nutty ones, but it only created…

I actually know the family, and I feel pretty bad for them. They absolutely made an example out of him, and I was truly hoping with more men on the jury it wouldn't be so harsh. Or rather, the feminists wouldn't take control of it and have it turn out the way it did. I have to say. The whole story seemed a bit fishy from the girls end. There was a lot of speculation about her and I feel it wasn't addressed enough. I'm a bit disappointed in my state today. Also, it's Labrie*.

So glad my boyfriend and I switched to dollar shave club. I don't use cable so I don't see a lot of the mainstream commercials these days, but seeing this makes me really sad. And then the stupid "like a girl" commercials..by dove? I think. What the fuck. Anyway, as a female, this just disgusts me. I really am tired of seeing other women act as though they deserve royal treatment for having a vagina. Or acting as though they can't be considered equal. Yes, we are equal. They're just mad that aft…
/r/MensRights16/08/15 02:37 PM

Honestly, I don't know if there's an answer to your question. If having a vagina solely makes you worthy, short of not having one, nothing can be your fault when failing. I guess I have unused power in my hands. Luckily, I'm not one to abuse others to get what I want. I'd rather, ya know, work hard. Then no one can deny my successes in life.

The problem with new-age feminism is that they refuse to accept faults of their own. That's been made clear over and over again. They refuse to have a rational discussion over these items. Instead they like to ban and plug their ears and wish it away. It's willful ignorance to some of highest degrees. So, no, I don't think they see any fault with Ellen Pao. I mean, she has already made herself look petty, unkind, and not worthy to run a company like Reddit; where free thought and expression is t…

Relax. You don't have to come here. So don't. Don't paint yourself as a target and complain when people don't agree with you. By doing this, you aren't helping females, you aren't helping feminism. You are simply making yourself look like a fool. Why don't you focus your attention into helping people who are actually in danger for their lives instead of spreading your hatred at the wrong people?

I think enough people have given you information at this point that mine would be redundant. Before making a radical generalization like you've made, I think it would be good for you to look at the dissenting side. You may have a personal view on the subject, however, that doesn't make it fact.
/r/MensRights04/06/15 01:15 PM

I was going to have this whole drawn out response. But then I realized, I won't change your opinion. Instead, I'm going to ask you to do some simple, unbiased, fact checking. Then maybe you'll see the incredible ignorance of your response. Cause you're just simply wrong.

Nope, they would call this fair feminism in action. The patriarchy obviously caused this. Luckily, the feminists came in and decided it would be fair for men, because they have penises, to use outdoor facilities. Obviously, women should never have to go through the torment of using a port-a-potty.
/r/MensRights26/05/15 10:19 AM

So you think you're the one who's the arbiter of defining feminism? Because you say that's what it is, doesn't mean that's what it is. That's called the "No True Scotsman" fallacy. I'm arguing specific points, you haven't made any.
/r/MensRights16/05/15 11:20 AM

Precisely what point have you made? And next time, before you admonish others, make sure you learn what you're talking about. You're the one arguing against rights for a certain group. Humanism fights for equal rights across the board. I wonder if the irony is lost on you from what things like Feminist Frequency has become. It has set feminism back a hundred years. You have absolutely no credibility or fact to back your points up. I have given you mine. You're the one who failed, not I. The next…

Read those articles and get back to me. I stated it as my opinion before I could find the facts to back it up. Now that I have, yeah, feminism is not the forefront of the equal custody movement. In fact most are quite against it. So, again, what's your point? This isn't TRP. I have spent hours reading on TRP and this group here is absolutely nothing like that. Well, for one, as much as feminism tries to paint women as strong humans with many different skill sets, it does a bad job of showing it. Anita Sarkeesian. Making all of these fail safes against rape or abuse, which put men in the crosshairs many times. The fact that they believe men's rights and their movement is "stupid af". Not holding women accountable for making poor decisions. Should I continue?.. Edit; to add: women being "portrayed in games as weak, helpless beings." But then being upset…

I have spent many hours researching feminism. Listening to debates. Both sides. I have come out of those many hours spent against feminism. I believe the movement now is completely on the wrong page. And you're the one with the burden of proof, not I. You made a purposefully inflammatory post, in a sub meant for people who aren't on your "side". I don't come to your sub's and do the same. I think even us females in the group fully understand feminism and have a problem with the way many of them go about preaching it. You may not agree with our side, that's ok, you don't have to. But you don't need to write inflammatory posts, with no substance, either.

It's so true. Look at Sarkeesian. She bans all commenting on her stuff. She must know that it's ridiculously easy to refute her arguments. And so many others do the same. It's the most dishonest type of pseudo intellectualism. Yet we still stand behind them blindly following.

Common law marriages, at least in the US, don't really come into play until after a couple has been together and living together for 7-10 years. A year and a half, I'm pretty sure, does not constitute enough time for common law to be recognized. That would most definitely create a lot of problems if it were. Also, the father is known of the child, and is deceased. Which means that state/county should be providing aid to the mother if necessary. Again, after a year and a half, that isn't enough t…

Well, one could argue any dress code is restrictive. We are talking about 3-piece suits here. Her take on it is absolutely stupid. If someone doesn't like it, don't work for them and find an environment that suits your ideals, or mold your appearance to what suits the job. You have the choice either way you go. But on the other side of it, what's wrong with taking pride in your appearance? And this woman clearly stated she in fact does deal with the public. Maybe I'd give feminism more weight if they actually did things to benefit women who are actually oppressed. Where are they when true, real, horrifying actions take place? Nowhere. They are too busy complaining about a fucking suit. This is really starting to piss me off. Men, I am truly sorry for the way society is starting to look…
