Correct. It is understandable why there is this double standard. Although from a moralistic standpoint, if no crime is being committed, both genders exploiting cheap sex should be treated the same.

The OP is looking at things the wrong way, but he is the canary in the coal mine. Something on a macro level is happening across the western sphere and it aint good. Yes, if the basic instincts are not sufficiently fed, they will rebel and cause misery. But one must find a balance here. How far can certain men be pushed in silent misery until he has to listen to the lizard brain? At some point some men will have to start buying Toyota.

There is no assumption of zero free will for women. In fact womens' choices are absolutely important here. Here it is: average women are not attracted to average men as men are attracted to women. That fact is key. For whatever reason, thats the unfortunate and proven reality. Then it is inevitable that a large portion of men are left out and have to resort to unsavoury means.

Correct. It's basically version 2.0 of the nice guy trope and the cognitive dissonance around it. The vulnerable guy is not attractive (unless he is pretty). Reality is that women generally want a capable confident resilient guy, who is vulnerable to her in private occasionally.

It is not hard to know the line as your looks play a big role. Its common sense that a pretty man crying will elicit more sympathy than a fat ugly guy crying. And that an attractive guy can go harder and faster with his emotions. The same principle applies to telling jokes, a good looking person has more leeway in stretching the boundaries.

so I’m not sure what you’re arguing with me about. Your suggestion that men not rely on online dating heavily. So many men are on OLD because every option sucks for men. OLD is a shitty platform that isn’t a great stand in for other dating avenues, in part because the gender imbalance on it is so dramatic, among other things. Short of some friendship circles, for a man the gender imbalance is skewed in almost every IRL activity. Eg; bars, sports, general socials, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/12/22 01:30 AM

Most women aren’t on online dating, many of us because we found it a poor method of dating compared to “real life.” Hence the massive gender imbalances on the platforms, hence us suggesting to men not to rely on it too heavily. If men had as much options as women IRL most men wouldn't be in online dating in the first place. You are displaying the sort of cognitive unawareness that the OP is talking about. If women find OLD a poor method, imagine what its like for most men. Yet many men torture t…

Over many 'random walks' one can see alot of short girls dating significantly taller/tall guys. Almost never the reverse. And guess what, alot of them were asian girls with taller caucasian guys. Thanks for proving his point. Given that this mathematically means there aren't enough short girls for every short guy......once you run out of girls, who can the remaining short guys date? No one. Hence the OP.

And the moment it is a girl doing it, there is an implied element on some level of sexuality. But, again, mostly validation for that type of content. Same with men/boy idols. People like looking at pretty people, and thats what sells. There is always some implied level of sexuality being a media idol; it doesn't mean that the fans consuming this are depraved sex addicts or that the core product is sex. I mean you are clutching at straws here. The only sad thing is men are paying for something wh…

Wrong. Validation can be beyond sex, especially for men. Firstly, onlyfans isnt just about porn. Secondly, onlyfans is really only an opener into a global industry catering to loneliness, much of it does not involve porn/sexual overtones at all. Paid dates, other streaming sites (especially asian), insta worship, and relationship approximation services that don't involve sex at all but involve monetary contributions to females. Often girls just talking and singing on a webcam to their fans. I me…

I maintain my position and suggest your evidence is actually evidence of my claims. When you just contradicted yourself? You agree that Onlyfans exists because men are seeking 'validation', something beyond sex, knowing that they will never get sex. And are willing to pay for it, even while porn is free. Meaning that the thing of value isn't even sexual gratification. I'd actually say those three things are major contributors to why men don't want real relationships. Far fetched cause and effect…

To me it sounded like you said because women are found in fewer numbers on OLD and initiate divorce more, that we as a gender care less about our relationships than men do. I don't know whether women care more or less about their relationships, once they are in one. All I know, and what is obvious, is that women care much less about getting in one, or the value of being in a relationship in general. It suspect that woman care more about their relationships, once they are in one (although the div…

Have you ever talked to a woman about the ridiculous vitriol they get while on OLD? The incessant nonconsensual dick pics? The 0-effort “wanna fuck” convos that so many men think should get them laid? Men get catfished, scammed and 0-effort too. Adding insult to injury, the average male gets much fewer matches and dates than your average woman. Yet somehow men are willing to put up with it much more than women. So we do it with a more judicious attitude. Doesn’t mean we “care less” There's a mas…

on OLD it’s closer to 80% men to 20% women. The argument was about OLD so I’m not sure why “big cities” get brought into it 80/20 reflects the fact that men "demand" relationships more than women do, given that the supply of men and women is the same. Which is exactly the point of the OP. I can think of many that are heavily women dominated. Men might outnumber women in activities that men generally like more, like bars & sports, but that just means that you might have to seek out more women-foc…

Its pretty evident from her sweeping incorrect generalizations. Porn is free and brothels are everywhere, yet somehow Onlyfans is thriving because guys still want a connection beyond the sexual realm.

Men outnumber women on dating apps. Simple supply and demand in this case can apply to this situation I used to think like that (given the 5-10% male biased birth rate) until someone pointed out to me that women outnumber men in large cities. So its not the supply of men causing this. The divorce rate only shows that women are more likely to leave marriages that don’t make them happy, and there are a lot of reasons why a relationship isn’t working. And why are men not likely to leave when they'r…

Which renders the whole "go touch grass" and "meet people irl" advice useless. Yep, the advice is useless as young women <36 are just not there. Of those who are putting themselves out there, many are simply recent immigrants trying to make new friends and settle down (hint: dating isn't a priority for them). But middle aged women are plenty though!

Does one need a source to equate attraction to slimness? Nearly half of adults are obese, let alone overweight. Any slim woman, who would be average several decades ago, would be near the top of the dating pyramid at this rate. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/the-us-is-the-most-obese-nation-in-the-world-just-ahead-of-mexico-2017-05-19

They can definitely date thin women They can't. Obesity in the anglosphere is astronomical compared to asia and europe. A thin woman over 25 years old already makes her top 5% by virtue of her being slim alone.

Fair point, although bars will always be a sausage fest by nature. The point of the OP is that this gender disparity is across the board in any context. Even for private dinner parties/gatherings, women are less invested and more flakey. Is that also the case in Toronto? Might have something to do with the massive obesity rate. Alot of fit men in the gym and up and about (of all ages), but noticeably much less women proportionately. I guess this will sharply increase demand for young women. A fi…

Your strategies were once everyone's 'default' strategies, but in a country where its a sausage fest everywhere, and obesity rates off the roof, somethings got to give. Some social gatherings I've been to its almost like going to the Freemasons and the few women there must be creeped out; its nonsense. As for me personally, im not going there...yet!
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/22 03:34 AM
2

Men who are unattractive, particularly short men, often end up finding a bride overseas or who is a recent working class immigrant. The other strategy is that if you're caucasian, you go for asian women. They are often indifferent/prefer white men. Meaning that in the end some poor Chinese/Indian farmer dies alone. :(
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/22 03:20 AM

so women already have much more power and men the ones doing like 95% of the pursuit / grinding to become dateable You don't need to change it much. A change to a 1:1 or 0.95:1 ratio (5% less men) is enough. The problem is that its currently 1:1.05 and the 5% excess men arent dying/disabled like what nature intended. Go look at Russia/Ukraine where the situation is much less lopsided.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/22 03:13 AM
2

The biggest factor being the fact that 5-10% more men are being birthed for every woman. We also take in immigrants from male dominated countries like China. This means millions of excess men competing at the margins of the dating market. This results in social gatherings of 80/20 (or worse!) instead of 50/50. Its just pathetic at times.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/22 03:05 AM
2

If there's so much men that I can simply choose one from my friend groups, then obviously why bother? But if there's a shortage of men, then women will have to get out of their comfort zone, like men now. Its all supply and demand.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/22 03:02 AM
2

It is mathematically very possible because the birth ratio of boys/girls isn't 50/50. 5-10% more men are born for every woman. This means millions of excess single men are competing around the margins of the dating market/social settings. This is why you are seeing sausage fests everywhere and why men are generally more desperate. Go to a country like Russia/Ukraine (where there is much less men) to understand that it doesn't have to be this way.
/r/PurplePillDebate28/11/22 02:54 AM
3

Nature made it this way for a reason and any modification to the birth rate for either gender creates major problems in society The birth ratio isn't 1:1 (or 50/50). 5-10% more men are born for every woman. Nature made it this way because historically young men/boys died at significantly higher rates than women/girls due to war, hunting, and disease. Since the baby boomer generation there has not been a major war or disease that cut down the dateable pool of men. Without this, 5-10% translates i…

Give me a link where this is supposedly debunked? I highly doubt the pareto distribution somehow doesn't apply to dating; while it does to the distribution of rewards to almost all other sorts of human undertakings (money, music, sports, academia, etc).

obviously it would be harder to get a good partner based on what the individual thinks is a good partner because you’re trying to do it within a specific timeframe. Women beyond their fertile years are finding partners. Women want companionship, regardless of children, even the ones who wanted kids but missed out. There is no timeframe for this. I shouldn't even need to spell this out. I mean, at this point you are clutching at straws. nobody said it’s not also hard for men, but that you have an…

there is definitely a timer on a woman finding her ideal situation if what she wants (like most) is to have a family, obviously. The topic was whether men or women have it harder to get a good partner. This isn't about 'ideal situations'. Changing the goalposts means you've lost that particular argument. But I'll humor you and address your issue. Ok, so what if theres a timer on a average woman getting their 'ideal situation'? You think it isn't increasingly hard for an average man to get his 'i…

a huge part of men going after younger women is fertility and women rushing to marry before 30 is the fact that it becomes much more difficult to have a child after age 30. to act as if it’s not a very big and driving force in a lot of women’s behavior in the smp/rmp is not only unrealistic but it’s also somewhat disingenuous. It is a big driving force. But it is not a timer on women finding a partner. There is no timer; woman can find a partner at any stage of their lives, no different from men…

They can, but usually they don't because they are not as interested. That's my whole point. Your original point was that women were "limited" to the men who approached them. Now you've backtracked to say they're just not interested in approaching men, so nothing to do with being "limited" at all. Thank you. If a man picks a bad mate, he can always start over. The woman's options become limited and become lower quality over time. A man's options doesn't become limited and lower quality over time?…

They are significantly less likely to remarry than their ex husbands. Its marginal, and without knowing why it doesn't prove anything. Its likely because women are proven to be better at getting their emotional needs met through their friends, compared to men. So there's less incentive to remarry, especially after middle age. To the contrary, this shows women have options to satisfy their emotional needs. Again women have it easier, not harder. I don't think you realize what a hurdle this is. An…

You speak as if women cant also try again, that its the end of their life if they divorce? Give me a break its the 21st century, women remarry just like men. She'll land the average guy who just wants sex and nothing else. That shows your misunderstanding of reality. It is actually the top guys (that most women want) who tend towards casual sex and are less committed, because logically they are spoiled for choice. The average guy is actually incentivized to be more committed. So again, objectively women have it better simply because they can land this 'average' person even if they use the male dating strategy. I (and most people) sure as hell prefer …

You're forgetting men also eventually commit to someone. Did you forget that men are a part of the relationship equation now? Lkikewise, women can always flake, reject and try again too. Just like men. Men have just as much risk of investing years on a terrible mate/marriage. Carry on....

By using such an extreme example, you inadvertently admitted that women have it much better than men. A woman who adopts the male strategy will statistically land the average guy. Which is miles and miles better than 'a crackhead homeless' person; which is what men will only get if they adopt the female strategy and don't persue.

I'm not sure why you lot are arguing over something as pervasive and proven as hypergamy. Generally, men date across and down. Generally, women date across and up. I mean surely this is not up for debate. If anything stuff like OLD and the oversupply of men there has made it worse.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/22 10:30 PM

Sure, women, on average, will likely never be as 'horny' as men. But it doesn't change the point that if you deprive women of intimacy they will inevitably desire it much more. I recall a study where the prevalence casual sex and LTRs was indeed correlated with male/female shortages.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/11/22 10:12 PM

No, I understand. You however, don't understand Maslow's hierarchy of needs. Women are struggling to get a LTR/marriage where several boxes on the hierarchy of needs are ticked; namely sex, intimacy, love, and esteem. The works. Alot of men are struggling to get anything. Thats the difference. There's struggle and then there's struggle.

What, women can't enjoy sex too? What an outdated view. And, if you're going to only look at where it can go bad, what about bad marriages and divorces where men get sent to the cleaners or women get beaten? Sure, women value sex less, because they can get it so easily. But that goes back to my point that you'll be singing a different tune if it became scarce.

I do agree that many young men foolishly view women in an overly idealized way, but that view is actually harmful both to women and to men. Key word here is 'overly'. With just literary hyperbole I don't know enough to judge Bottleblank's situation. The reality is that for anyone, if one is attracted to someone it is very likely they will idealise this person; this is the dopamine hit clouding ones judgement. Its built into our biology. Actually, if intimacy was as hard to get for women as it is for men, you would be singing a different tune. You'll settle for casual sex to hold the fort just like men do. It is very basic on Maslow's hierarchy of needs. One person's dumpster is another persons treasure. Just another area where women and men live on completely different universes. Same thing about women complaining about being swarmed with 'bad' matches and 'difficulty' of panning for the good; meanwhile many men are lucky to ge…

Although viewing women as "magical helpless fairies" is quite the weird exaggeration, the underlying point still rings true. What I mean is; traditional gender roles die hard despite decades of feminism. Accordingly to the data, women and men still want what they've wanted for millennia. The number of men who have not had any intimacy in the last yr has jumped threefold in the last decade. 50k in Vietnam is not very much, compared to the whole population. More than 2 million veterans had a war related disability. Not sure how much of those have a severe disability but its going to be magnitudes of 50K, possibly a million men who are effectively out of the 'normal' dating market. And the population at the time was only 180 million, with only a fraction being young men. Thats more than enough to smash the male birth bias.

Not that I agree with the OP, but this doesn't even make sense. A high 'status' man is meant to threaten other males. Thats biology 101. As for trust; alot has been said about 'high status men' being able to attract women despite being the 'bad guy'. The dark triad is associated with better dating outcomes. Heck in popular culture, I'm sure one can think of many men who have an openly bad history, yeah still pull attractive women. Thats 'status'.

The no. of partners is a novelty when the average no. of sexual partners for a large proportion of young men is like <3, and 30% of young men haven't had sex in the past year. Not saying I agree with the OP however.

Hinge's limit to 8 likes a day is far more effective at limiting male thirst than the marginally 12% better ratio. Women's accounts are being spammed with likes. Compared to Hinge, Bumble simply incentivises men to 'like' as much as they can, its zero effort. No need to think of a witty message. This was the point. Literally. No. You tried to say being tall as a man is the same as having big tits as a girl. Rubbish, when slim models with flat chests are desired and used all over the world. I also know girls like this. They aren't 6s. Except to the despeerate. They are, whether you like it or not. Heck even fat chicks (being fat means the face is also 'busted' by default) get lots of attention on apps.

Incorrect, having big tits isnt the female equivalent of being tall. Thin models wouldn't even be desired if big tits were so important. No. The correct analogy is : A girl with a busted face but an slim athletic body. That will definitely a 6 in this obese society.
