Not just an economic crisis… a mathematical crisis. As in, mathematically the human race goes extinct. It’s a simple as understanding that if water is draining out of a tub faster than it’s being added via the faucet, the tub eventually empties.

If 99% of humans die out, and the remaining 1% continue to have sub-replacement birth rates, guess what… the 1% will die out too. Sub-replacement fertility is an affliction that continues until there are zero humans left alive. It never “levels out” or stops mattering.

Because if the birth rate is maintained less than ~2 per woman over long time scales, the human race goes extinct. This is a matter of simple mathematics and has nothing to do with the economy/muh capitalism or whatever. Birth rates all over the world are cratering. In virtually every developed country they are well below 2/woman, with some examples like South Korea being well below 1/woman.
