I mean, the part in quotes is probably accurate for many, but I have a pretty equitable viewpoint of suicide, considering the ratio of women attempting suicide and men attempting suicide is 2:1, and the ratio of women successfully committing suicide and men successfully committing suicide is 1:2, likely by virtue of men statistically choosing more violent/effective methods (pill overdose(F) vs hanging(M)). I don't watch TV, but I've heard a few real women (and SOME men, albeit online) make similar jokes along these lines. It's a very disturbing mindset. I don't know any male friends that have been assaulted, or even talked about it, but I do think some progressive women go at it from a mindset of socialized contempt towards men that makes them view them more like 'objects' than humans with any type of cognitive sensibility or emotion. Two people can argue two completely different stances on half of the entire human population just based off their observations of the world around them and their anecdotes.
